A pedestrian was hit and killed in Henderson Monday afternoon.
Around 2:45 p.m. Emergency personnel with the Henderson Fire Department and Vance County Emergency Services responded to a call of a man lying in the road in the 600 block of West Andrews Avenue.
When they arrived, they found 69-year-old Matt Kinard of Henderson in the roadway. They tried to render aid, but he died at the scene.
The driver stayed on scene and cooperated with police. The Henderson Police Department is investigating this incident.
