If you think we forgot about Billie Eilish’s Happier Than Ever era just because of the success of HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, then you were wrong. For fans, the HTE era was monumental and meant something much bigger than a few hit songs. Many Billie fans will probably tell you their favorite era is HTE and that many of their favorite songs from Billie’s discography come from this album. Along with some beautiful songs like ‘Everybody Dies’ and ‘Getting Older,’ the blonde and beige era gave us some of Billie’s best music videos. Let’s run it back to some of our favorites!
‘Lost Cause’
We can’t talk about the Happier Than Ever era without talking about ‘Lost Cause’ first. Right when Billie’s second album dropped, fans flocked to ‘Lost Cause’ as one of their favorite songs on the tracklist. When the music video dropped, it came as a bit of a surprise, as fans were not expecting this track to get its own video. But, dare we say, it’s her best? We love how effortlessly fun this video is, and you can really tell Billie had a great time making this. This is definitely the energy we’re taking into summer 2026!
‘NDA’
Oh, ‘NDA,’ the song that you are. If you get it, you get it. ‘NDA’ is just that girl and will forever be that girl. Whenever those first few chords of the song start playing, we morph into a different version of ourselves. One who is willing to risk it all in the middle of the street and maybe…be hit by a car? Fun fact! Did you know that all of the cars in this video are real? Yes, Billie really did sit in the street while cars drove extremely fast all around her. But, as many Billie fans know, doing dangerous things in the name of “getting the shot” is just part of Billie’s character. Thankfully, the risks have given us some amazing music videos, including the likes of ‘NDA.’ No, we are not signing a non-disclosure agreement for this one.
‘My Future’
Nothing makes us feel the way this song makes us feel. ‘My Future’ has a special place in our hearts and means so much to every Billie Eilish fan out there. The song and lyrics aside, the music video is a standout. Billie took a nontraditional route for this video, embracing animation that mirrors an anime style. Of course, her “character” features her iconic green-root hairstyle that takes us way back to the when we all fall asleep, where do we go? era. We turn on the ‘my future’ music video whenever we’re feeling doubtful about ourselves and need a little reassurance that everything is going to be okay. Thank you, Billie, for always holding our feelings tight!
‘Happier Than Ever’
In the world of incredible Billie Eilish music videos, the ‘Happier Than Ever’ music video takes the crown. This era wouldn’t be as noteworthy as it is without this video. In fact, this entire music video is basically a short film, and we find ourselves coming back to watch it anytime we need a little Billie nostalgia. It even gave us a subtle hint into the HIT ME HARD AND SOFT era, which fans would later put together as being one and the same. Kudos to Billie’s creative ideas! We can’t wait to see what BE4 has in store for us!
