Netflix Monopoly Competition Series Opens 2027 Casting

Netflix will bring the iconic board game Monopoly to life in a new competition series premiering in 2027, where 12 contestants will compete for a $2 million grand prize

Netflix is bringing Monopoly to the screen with a new competition series set to premiere in 2027, turning Hasbro’s iconic board game into a life-sized social strategy competition.

Twelve contestants will enter a fully realized Monopoly Town Square, where they will earn money, buy properties, negotiate deals and fight to avoid elimination. One player will walk away with a $2 million grand prize, while bankrupt contestants will leave the game one by one.

The series comes from Studio Lambert, the production company behind Netflix hits Squid Game: The Challenge and The Circle, in partnership with Hasbro Entertainment. Studio Lambert won the project after Netflix considered pitches from dozens of production companies.

Executive producers include Gabriel Marano and Zachary Edwin for Hasbro Entertainment, along with Nia Yemoh, Tim Harcourt, Jack Burgess, Stephen Lambert and Kim Murphy for Studio Lambert.

Netflix also opened casting for the competition series. Applicants must be at least 21 years old to compete.

The series joins Netflix’s growing slate of game-based competition series, including Wonka’s Golden Ticket and Overcooked. Meanwhile, Hasbro continues expanding its lineup of film and television adaptations with projects based on Clue, Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, Power Rangers and My Little Pony.
