ORLANDO, Fla. — An official announcement has come down about Universal Islands of Adventure’s Lost Continent area and its future.
In a slew of updates this week, Universal said operations within Lost Continent will have a phased permanent closure in the coming months as the theme park moves forward with “a new themed area.”
Universal added that the popular Mythos Restaurant will close in 2027.
With Mythos closing, Universal is forging ahead with a new full-service restaurant that will replace the quick-service Thunder Falls Terrace in the Jurassic Park area of Islands of Adventure.
Universal says Thunder Falls Terrace is set to close this summer and the rethemed dining location will open in 2027.
Other updates Universal announced include a temporary closure of the Horror Make-Up Show at Universal Studios.
They say the show will reopen later this year and showcase “a mix of classic and modern horror properties along with shockingly fun surprises.”
Lastly, Hot Dog Hall of Fame in CityWalk is being replaced with Fat One’s Hot Dogs & Italian Ice, which was founded by *NSYNC member Joey Fatone and his manager Joe Mulvihill.
Universal says the new hot dog location will feature “a variety of creative, flavor-packed hot dogs, Italian ices and more for guests to enjoy.”
