Suspected DUI crash in El Dorado County leaves woman dead, CHP says; driver in custody

A man suspected of driving under the influence is in custody after an El Dorado County crash that left a woman dead, the California Highway Patrol Placerville division said Monday.David Dellaquila, 61, of Fiddletown, was taken to the El Dorado County Jail on felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter charges, CHP said.Around 5:20 p.m. Sunday, CHP said it got a call about an overturned vehicle at Fairplay Road, north of Stoney Creek Road. Officers who went there found an overturned 1959 MG coupe, a type of British sports car.CHP said a woman who was the passenger in that car died at the scene. Dellaquila was taken to Marshall Hospital to get his minor injuries treated.During the investigation, officers suspected that alcohol was a factor and arrested Dellaquila, CHP said.The identity of the woman has not been released.See news happening?
