A 54-year-old Raleigh woman was killed Friday when a vehicle crossed the center line on Duraleigh Road and hit her car head on, Raleigh Police Department said.

A 54‑year‑old Raleigh woman died Friday when a vehicle crossed the center line on Duraleigh Road and hit her car head‑on, Raleigh Police Department said.

At 5:45 p.m., police responded to a crash with injuries on Duraleigh Road near Deep Hollow Drive.

On Saturday, the police identified the woman killed as Kimberly A. Nimmer.

The preliminary investigation shows that one of the vehicles crossed into oncoming lanes of traffic and struck the other in a head on collision.

Nimmer was killed in the collision; the other driver was seriously injured.

Impairment is not suspected in this incident. No charges have been filed at this time.

This crash remains under investigation.
