Four people were wounded, including a 16-year-old in critical condition, after being shot on a sidewalk in the Austin neighborhood Sunday afternoon, according to police.

Shortly before 3 p.m., a vehicle approached the group in the 400 block of North Lavergne Avenue and two shooters fired at them.

Paramedics transported the 16-year-old boy, who had suffered a gunshot wound to the head, to Mount Sinai Hospital. A 25-year-old man was grazed by a bullet on his right thigh and transported himself to West Suburban Hospital in good condition.

Another 25-year-old man who was shot in the ankle and a 21-year-old man who was shot in the groin also transported themselves to the same hospital.

The shooters fled northbound on North Lavergne Avenue. No arrests had been made as of Sunday evening, and area detectives are investigating, according to police.
