HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — A Gridlock Alert could impact your morning commute between Fort Bend County and Harris County on Wednesday morning.

U.S. 90 Alternate is closed in both directions from Hiram Clarke to Chimney Rock/Fort Bend Tollway.

Officials say crews are working to repair a bridge joint. The total closure began at 6 p.m. Tuesday is expected to reopen at 8 a.m. Wednesday.

While feeder roads are open and police officers are on site directing traffic, drivers should expect delays.

Drivers can take Almeda, West Belfort, SH-288, or the Southwest Freeway as an alternate route.
