One person was killed and another injured shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday in a crash on Interstate 30 in Arlington, police said.
Officers responded to the westbound lanes of I-30 near Texas 360 after 911 callers said two vehicles had been involved in an accident and one of them was on fire.
A white car traveling west on I-30 lost control for an unknown reason and ended up in the path of a gray car, police said. The force of the collision knocked the white car into a wall, and it caught fire. Firefighters put out the blaze, but the driver was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The driver of the gray car was taken to a hospital for treatment. Police are investigating the circumstances of the crash, and no criminal charges have been filed. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner will publicly identify the person who died.
The westbound lanes of I-30 were closed for several hours at Texas 360 but are now open.
