    best sweater

    Wool-Cashmere Turtleneck Sweater

It’s always worth the splurge when comfort meets a forever classic that you’ll wear winter after winter.

    best layering top

    Stretch Jersey Turtleneck

A turtleneck is an underrated style weapon — especially a Ralph Lauren one that’s 30% off. This one is lightweight and stretchy, so it’s perfect for layering under blazers or chunky knits. It’s equally as effective on it’s own with jeans and a skinny belt for a sleek, no-fuss outfit.

    best bag

Soft suede + plush shearling trim + chain strap = a gorgeous winter bag that doesn’t try too hard. Slip it over your shoulder for grocery shopping or date night. It’s that versatile. It’s an “essentials only” bag, so you won’t be digging endlessly in it looking for your lip balm.

    best shoes

    Allyson Pebbled Leather Bootie

    On Sale 30% off

Chances are the Allyson bootie, with its rich garnet color, are unlike any other pair of boots you own. The low heel makes them day-to-day wearable, and the classic silhouette pairs with everything you already own, whether for work, weekends, or anything in between.

    The Latest MacBook Pro

    • Photograph: Luke Larsen

The M5 MacBook Pro (8/10, WIRED Recommends) is only a month old, and it’s already on sale. It’s the only Mac so far to receive the upgrade to the latest M5 chip, benefiting from improved performance across the board. In my testing, there was a significant step forward everywhere you looked, including the GPU, the CPU, and the Neural Engine for AI tasks. It’s the GPU that’s seen the biggest leap, though, which should speed up both gaming and creative applications. Other than that, this is the same MacBook Pro you probably already know and love, with its bright mini-LED screen, robust speakers, and extra ports (over the MacBook Air, at least).

This base 14-inch model doesn’t have the incredible value of the MacBook Air or the powerhouse performance of the M4 Pro and M4 Max MacBook Pro. Ultimately, when it comes to which MacBook you should buy, the answer is still the Air. But the M5 versions of these laptops aren’t coming until next year, so if you’re after the latest Apple Silicon in one of the best laptops you can buy, this deal on the M5 MacBook Pro is solid.

    The Best Bluetooth Speaker

    • Photograph: Ryan Waniata

The JBL Flip 7 (9/10, WIRED Recommends) is a Bluetooth speaker that has it all. As our A/V reviewer Ryan Waniata says, “JBL’s Flip strikes the perfect compromise between mobility and sound quality, offering clean detail with plenty of punch.” Waniata also praises the durability of the Flip 7, which is important in a Bluetooth speaker meant to be used outdoors. There are tons of different color options to match your vibe, and it gets up to 16 hours of battery life. The increased water resistance means it’ll bring the party wherever you need it. Put simply, it’s the best Bluetooth speaker you can buy, and it’s at a great price.

    Our Favorite Dyson Vacuum

    • Photograph: Nena Farrell

Everyone wants a cordless Dyson vacuum, but they tend to be exorbitantly expensive. It’s still not cheap, but at $300 off, this is as good a deal as we’ve seen on this vacuum. The V15 Detect is our vacuum expert’s favorite Dyson. In her testing, Nena Farrell says she was impressed by how much dust and dirt it sucked up from her carpet, as well as from hard floors. The V15 Detect also comes with an extra sensor that can actually count the number of dust particles. That’s overkill for most people, but if you have severe allergies (or have friends or family that do), the Dyson V15 Detect can actually verify what you’re picking up.

    The Best AirPods Deal

    Apple

    AirPods Pro 2 (With USB-C)

This discount on the AirPods Pro 2 is sold out some other retailers, but it’s still available at Best Buy. These updated AirPods Pro 2 is the model to come out in 2023, introducing the USB-C charging port and water resistance to the already-great pair of noise-canceling earbuds. The price cut to $191 from the retail price of $250 is great, and it’s probably the pair that most people should buy this holiday season. However, I should mention that the newer AirPods Pro 3 launched recently in September, bringing a huge boost to noise canceling, bass, and battery life. It also has the new Live Translation feature. These newer earbuds are $30 off right now, but they cost an extra $30 over the AirPods Pro 2.

The Best TV Deal Right Now

Image may contain: Electronics, Screen, Computer Hardware, Hardware, Monitor, TV, Person, Adult, Ball, Football, and Soccer

    Photograph: Ryan Waniata

OLED TVs might be the best TVs you can buy, but if you’re shopping for a TV under $1,000 like most people are, the TCL QM6K QLED (8/10, WIRED Recommends) is what you should be eyeing. It’s a 4K mini-LED screen, and our TV reviewers call it “a versatile display that does just about everything well, from naturalistic colors to rich black levels and impressive clarity.” It’s not the brightest TV in the world, but it does come with a 144-Hz refresh rate for gaming and a smart Google TV interface for your streaming needs. There are screen options ranging from 55 inches up to 98 inches, all of which are on sale ahead of Black Friday, with the happy-medium 65-inch model starting at $500.

    The Best MagSafe Power Bank

    Gear-Anker_MagGo_Qi2-SOURCE-Simon-Hill

    Photograph: Simon Hill

    Anker

    MagGo Power Bank (10K) (Qi2)

Most people aren’t using the wireless charging on their iPhone to its full extent. Picking up a MagSafe power bank is a great way to do that, and this one from Anker is our favorite. With a 10,000-mAh battery, it can power up an iPhone to a full charge nearly twice. It even works on Android phones because it supports the Qi2 standard. We also like that it comes with a built-in kickstand and a helpful LED light on the side that tells you how much charge is left. It’s $35 off for Black Friday, bringing it to its lowest price so far.

A Fancy Espresso Maker (That You’ll Love)

Image may contain: Cup, Beverage, Coffee, Coffee Cup, and Espresso

    Breville

    Barista Express Espresso Machine

Don’t let price hold you back from your home barista dreams. $200 off the beloved espresso machine that WIRED editor Julian Chokkattu has been using for seven years without issues. He cites the excellent steam wand, consistent pressure for espresso, and easy cleaning as the top reasons to buy it. But the long-term reliability is its biggest strength. When you drop half a grand on a piece of kitchen tech, you need to know that it won’t need to be replaced in just a few years.

    The Best Headphones

Image may contain: Electronics, Headphones, Dining Table, Furniture, and Table

    Photograph: Ryan Waniata

The best noise-canceling headphones from Sony are also the best wireless headphones you can buy right now. Bags of processing power can silence even the loudest sounds around you, and the included microphones are excellent for Zoom calls. Sound quality is top-notch, with custom-made drivers delivering Sony’s sleek and flat sound.

    A Brilliant USB-C Hub

Image may contain: Adapter, Electronics, Computer, Laptop, Pc, Computer Hardware, Hardware, and Computer Keyboard

    Photograph: Eric Ravenscraft

One of the biggest upgrades you can make to your remote work setup is a solid USB hub or laptop docking station. Most laptops don’t have enough ports, especially not if you’re trying to connect multiple, high-resolution monitors. The plug-and-play nature of this is super helpful, too, as you can have all of your peripherals and accessories connected via USB-C.

While you could just go out and buy any old USB hub, the Satechi Dual Dock Stand has some secrets up its sleeve. First off, it’s designed to prop up your laptop slightly with its wedge shape. My favorite feature, though, is the built-in storage slot. It doesn’t come with an SSD included, but any M.2 SSD will work. It’s a handy feature to have. The best part is the price, which is down to $105, a new low at Best Buy for Black Friday.

    The Best Windows Laptop Deal

Front view of the Asus Zenbook A14 laptop while open with the screen showing abstract art

    Photograph: Christopher Null

Just last week, this laptop cost $1,000. Now it’s down to $550. That’s a 45 percent drop in price. And while I wouldn’t say this laptop is worth $1,000, it’s an absolute steal for $550. The Zenbook A14’s calling card is its weight of just 2.16 pounds. It’s light enough that it’ll make you do a double-take when you pick it up off the table. That makes it an ideal travel companion to lug across campus or on airplanes. Unlike ultra-light laptops in the past, the Zenbook A14 doesn’t have any major compromises in battery life, performance, or keyboard. It even has an OLED screen, as so many Asus laptops do.

    A Cheaper, Better iPad

    • Photograph: Brenda Stolyar

    • Photograph: Brenda Stolyar

This is a great price for the base iPad. But a cheaper iPad is only so good if it’s limited by its software. But with the iPadOS 26 update, you’re also getting a better iPad than ever before. With a more accurate cursor and resizable windows, the iPad is now more like a MacBook than ever before. Multitasking on an iPad has always been a nightmare, but now that you can pull up multiple windows side by side and resize them to your heart’s content. Connect it up with a wireless mouse and keyboard, and you’ve got something that could replace a laptop in a pinch.

    The Best Phone Under $300

Image may contain: Electronics, Phone, and Mobile Phone

    Photograph: Julian Chokkattu

    Motorola

    Moto G Stylus 2025

No one is calling the Moto G Stylus 5G the best phone in the world. In fact, our phone expert (and tech editor extraordinaire, Julian Chokkattu) recommends Nothing’s Phone 3a as the better cheap phone. But the 2025 Moto G Stylus is not only the best Moto G phone you can buy, it also has a lot of high-end features, such as a large 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a 120-Hz refresh rate. It even has a beautiful blue back, a built-in stylus, and a headphone jack. That’s a lot of uncommon features in a remarkably cheap phone, especially at its discounted pre–Black Friday price.

    The Perfect Travel Partner

    Sony WF-1000XM5 Earbuds

    Courtesy of Sony

These earbuds came out a couple of years ago, but they remain some of the best you can buy. When they came out, Sony’s fifth-generation of high-end wireless earbuds were trimmed down to around 25 percent smaller and 20 percent lighter than the previous generation. You also get two extra full charges from the case, for a total of up to 36 hours of listening. That all makes it the best pair of earbuds for traveling in particular. There’s no compromise in noise canceling either. In fact, our A/V experts say the XM5 has “some of the most advanced functionality in terms of EQ, touch controls, and adaptive noise canceling available on the market.” They’re $100 off the retail price ahead of Black Friday, which is the best discount we’ve ever seen on them.

    The Smartest Android Phone

You can’t go wrong with Google’s brand-new Pixel 10. The smartest of the best Android phones, it boasts genuinely useful AI features, like Call Screen and Now Playing. There’s also an excellent, versatile, triple-camera system that includes a 5X optical zoom for capturing action from afar. There’s Qi2 support for magnetic wireless charging and magnetic accessories. It’s unusual to see a deep discount on this year’s Google flagship, so it’s worth biting.

    An Incredible OLED Gaming Monitor

    Courtesy of Samsung

    Samsung

    Odyssey G6 OLED Gaming Monitor

Samsung makes some of the prettiest gaming monitors, especially in the past couple of years. Within its Odyssey lineup, there’s now just about every size and form factor of monitor you can imagine. The Odyssey G6 (8/10, WIRED Recommends) is a 27-inch OLED with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 and a 360-Hz refresh rate, which should be great no matter what game you’re playing. Want extreme frame rates for competitive shooters? You can drop the resolution to 1080p and explore the higher echelon of the 360-Hz refresh rate. For slower-paced single-player games, the 1440p resolution is crisp, and the OLED panel gets you gorgeous HDR in games. It’s $250 off the full price ahead of Black Friday, down now to $650.

    A Dirt-Cheap Chromebook

    • Photograph: Luke Larsen

You can’t expect a laptop this cheap to be without compromises. But when it comes to budget Chromebooks, this is as good as it gets. It’s a reasonably affordable and attractive laptop, with lots of ports, decent performance, and a comfortable keyboard. For a Chromebook, the specs aren’t bad either, coming with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Unfortunately, the touchpad isn’t the best, nor is the display. It’s not bright enough, and the colors look off. For a laptop under $300, though, the CX14 should do the trick, especially for a student or a first-time laptop owner.

One Ring to Rule Them All

    • Photograph: Simon Hill

    • Photograph: Simon Hill

The smart ring space has been quiet this year, perhaps partially because of how fantastic the Oura Ring 4 is. It’s smaller and lighter, feeling more like a proper piece of jewelry than ever before. With new features like fertility tracking, an improved health app, and over three days of battery life, our reviewer Adrienne So was consistently impressed by the upgrade over the previous Oura Ring 3. At $100 off the full price, the Oura Ring 4 is continuing to feel like the only smart ring anyone should buy.

    An Excellent Prebuilt Gaming Desktop

    • Photograph: Luke Larsen

    • Photograph: Luke Larsen

    Alienware

    Aurora Gaming Desktop

With RAM prices skyrocketing, just buying a prebuilt gaming desktop feels like an increasingly smart move, especially at this price. The Alienware Aurora Gaming Desktop is down to just $1,225, coming with an Nvidia RTX 5060 Ti, Intel Core Ultra 7 265F, 32 GB of memory, and 1 TB of storage. That’s cheaper than Dell’s own price for that configuration, but I wouldn’t recommend buying this particular model, as it comes with only a 500-watt power supply. While that’s enough power for the RTX 5060 Ti, you’ll be limited from upgrading to any GPUs more powerful in the future. So, I’d highly recommend buying one of the configurations with the 1,000-watt power supplies, such as the RTX 5070 configuration. Before buying, I’d also recommend comparing prices with Dell.com, as it has some strong deals on particular configurations, such as this RTX 5070 Ti model for just $1,000.

    Corsair

    Scimitar Elite Wireless SE

If you play MMOs, you know how useful it is to map various actions to buttons on your keyboard or mouse. Well, this gaming mouse from Corsair gives you a ton of options to customize your gameplay. There are 12 reprogrammable side buttons, but the mouse also has a high 33,000-dpi optical sensor and 1,000-Hz polling for low input lag and high responsiveness. It can connect via a 2.4-GHz dongle instead of Bluetooth, too.

    A Mesh Wi-Fi System

    • Photograph: Simon Hill

    • Photograph: Simon Hill

    • Photograph: Simon Hill

Everyone could use faster and more reliable Wi-Fi, right? This high-performing, tri-band, Wi-Fi 7 mesh is the runner-up in our Best Mesh guide. You’ll get lightning-fast speeds on the 6-GHz band at close range. Each unit has plenty of ports (one 10 Gbps Ethernet port, one 2.5 Gbps port, a Gigabit port, and a USB 3.0 port), and the Deco app is very easy to use. The possibility of a TP-Link ban in the US might put you off, or it might encourage you to pull the trigger now.

  • This 16-Disc ‘Harry Potter’ Blu-ray Set Has Every Film in 4K, Plus Bonus Features — And It’s Less Than $60 For Black Friday

If you purchase an independently reviewed product or service through a link on our website, Variety may receive an affiliate commission.

Amazon is delivering the magic this Black Friday season.

The retailer has slashed prices on dozens of Blu-ray boxed sets and other physical media this week, and one of the best deals we found was on this eight-film “Harry Potter” set. The Blu-ray package, currently 31% off, bundles all eight films in the Warner Bros. franchise, spanning the series from “Sorcerer’s Stone” through “Deathly Hallows – Part 2” across 16 discs.

    BLACK FRIDAY DEAL

    Harry Potter: 8-Film Collection [4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray]

The set includes the complete lineup: “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” “Chamber of Secrets,” “Prisoner of Azkaban,” “Goblet of Fire,” “Order of the Phoenix,” “Half-Blood Prince”, and both parts of “Deathly Hallows.” Each film is presented in high-definition with the theatrical cuts intact.

The Blu-ray discs also include the previously released bonus features for the series, which vary by title. Extras include behind-the-scenes featurettes, cast and crew interviews, production diaries, deleted scenes, and making-of materials that were originally issued during the films’ home-entertainment runs. Several of the early films also retain interactive “In-Movie Experience” tracks and BD-Live content, where applicable.

The “Harry Potter” franchise has remained a reliable driver of physical media sales for more than a decade, routinely ranking among the top-selling catalog titles each holiday season. In 2016, Warner Bros. remastered the entire franchise for 4K UHD, rolling out each film with upgraded HDR and Dolby Atmos mixes. Since then, they’ve issued multiple home-entertainment editions over the years — including the original Blu-ray and DVD releases, the multi-volume “Yearbook” sets, and the premium “Wizard’s Collection” box, which remains one of the studio’s most elaborate collector’s editions to date.

Black Friday is the Super Bowl of shopping for bargain hunters.

Nearly three and a half hours before sunrise, there was a line of people waiting outside the JCPenney at Potomac Mills in Winchester, Virginia.

Yes, people were looking for deals, but that was not the only reason people stood outside in the cold air, waiting for the store to open at 5 a.m.

“The sales, getting out around the people,” Beverly Newbell, of Dumfries, said. “And the rush.”

Several of the people in line were out-of-towners visiting relatives for Thanksgiving, including Rusty and Bill.

Rusty said this was the first time in the decades of Black Friday shopping that her husband Bill joined her.

Bill said since they were not home in Charlotte, North Carolina, he didn’t want her to shop alone, and he jokingly said he wanted to keep an eye on how much she was buying.

‘The best day of the year’

Those waiting outside JCPenney were excited because they were handing out free snow globes. This tradition dates back many years, and this year’s theme was Snoopy.

Kim and her son Oliver, who live close by the store, were two of the first people to get one.

“It’s Black Friday, it’s the best day of the year,” Kim said.

Oliver, 12, agreed, saying, “It’s really fun.”

Of course, the sales are a big part of Black Friday.

The National Retail Federation predicts nearly 190 million people will shop between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, so it shouldn’t surprise anyone that a lot of people are willing to drive long distances to get a good deal.

Twinel Bradford drove from Waldorf, Maryland, to Woodbridge, Virginia, because The North Face Outlet had a deal she couldn’t pass up.

“It’s 60% off today,” Bradford said. “I’m getting two jackets, one for me and one for my daughter.”

Even though Bradford was waiting in a line that took some an hour and a half to get through.

“Whew, this line is probably a mile long to stretch it all the way out,” Bradford said, laughing.

Once the sun was shining on the cold, windy day, the parking lot at Potomac Mills was packed, and walking toward the mall was a pair of newlyweds from Oregon.

This will be Grace and Zane’s first Christmas as husband and wife, and they may have different priorities when it comes to their idea of the perfect Christmas gift.

While Grace said she’d love for her friends and family to get them gift cards, Zane smiled and said, “Audi R8.”

Zane did acknowledge it would be hard to fit under the tree, but his wife had a solution.

“The keys would fit,” Grace said.

    • Photograph: Julian Chokkattu

Google’s brand-new Pixel 10 is one of the best Android phones on the market right now—it’s rare to find a phone at this price, especially on sale, with a triple-camera system that includes a 5X optical zoom sensor. 5X! That means you won’t have trouble capturing sharp photos of birds up in the tree, your kid earning their diploma, or your favorite artist onstage. Not to mention this is one of the first flagship Android phones with Qi2 magnets, meaning, like Apple’s iPhones, you can magnetically attach the phone to wireless chargers and docks for speedy charging (and attach various fun magnetic accessories). Best of all is Google’s smart software; yes, there’s a lot of generative AI creep that isn’t super useful, but tools like Call Screen can filter out spam calls, and Now Playing automatically tells you what song is playing at the coffee shop without you having to lift a finger. Nomad

    65W Slim Power Adapter

This is my favorite charger, and I’ve been using it for all my gadgets for several years. Nomad’s 65-watt charger is incredibly slim, and it can fit in the tiniest pouches of a bag or purse. It comes with two USB-C ports. When both are in use, you get 45 watts out of the left port and 20 out of the right. If one device is plugged in, the 65 watts of power is more than enough for tablets and phones, and should be sufficient for a MacBook Air or Windows laptop (unless it’s a high-powered machine). Amazon

    Kindle Paperwhite (2024, 12th Generation)

Amazon’s family of Kindle e-readers is popular for a reason, and our all-around favorite is the Kindle Paperwhite (12th generation). The latest generation came out last fall, and it’s got just about everything we want in an e-reader: an auto-adjusting warm light, a three-month battery life, snappy performance, integration with Overdrive so you can get your library books, and the ability to “speak” several languages. Dyson

    V15s Detect Submarine

This is the lowest price we’ve seen all year for this fantastic Dyson vacuum. It’s our favorite vacuum cleaner for both wet and dry cleaning, since it takes the technology we love from the V15 and adds a wet mop head attachment. You sadly can’t buy the attachment and use it with an existing V15, but if you’re already in the market for a new stick vac and want one that can do both, WIRED reviewer Adrienne So says this vacuum is one of the best things that has ever happened to her. —Nena Farrell

    Dyson

    HushJet Purifier Compact

The debut of Dyson’s first tabletop-sized air purifier was just announced in September; it’s finally here, and we’ve tried it. Its claim to fame is that it uses electrostatic filtration, which incorporates electrically charged plates to attract dust, pollen, dander, and other allergens. In our guide to the Best Air Purifiers, WIRED contributor Lisa Wood Shapiro notes this means the filter can last up to five years, as opposed to six to 12 months like a typical HEPA. She thought it was a little loud, measuring twice the advertised decibels on its highest setting, but is otherwise a great option for smaller areas like bedrooms. —Kat Merck

The Arlo app is swift to load, boasts the best notifications, and supports two-factor authentication, so you can log in with your fingerprint or face, phone permitting. But last year’s Series 10 (Apple’s 10th anniversary watch) has the same S10 chip as the latest watches. How Does WIRED Find the Best Deals?

We spend our entire working lives testing products and, in part, tracking how much they cost. That way, we can spot a good deal from one that’s just a markdown of an artificially inflated price (a practice far too common, sadly). We also use price-checking tools like Camelcamelcamel, but since we only cover items we’ve actually tested, it’s not that hard for us to keep track of prices and know what’s a good deal and what’s not.

What Is the Best Time to Shop?

In a word: now. The best Black Friday deals are happening right now, and we’ve rounded up our favorites in this guide. In the olden days, Black Friday was just one day long. Shoppers would camp outside of stores, paper circulars in hand, eagerly awaiting the chance to bust down some doors and save a ton of cash. Fast-forward to the internet, and now Black Friday lasts more or less the entire month of November.

    Black Friday Retailers To Watch

Amazon: For better or worse, Amazon has changed the game when it comes to shopping—if you want it, Amazon probably sells it. In the tradition of Amazon Prime Day, Amazon is rolling out major discounts for Black Friday and Cyber Monday on everything from bedding to home office gear to TVs to air fryers. This is a good time to save on the brand’s own hardware, like Kindles and Blink security cameras, some of which are 50% off.

Walmart: The Arkansas-based big box store has lots of tech deals like the gray colorway of Beats Solo4 for $79 ($50 off) plus the home and garden deals you’d expect like a Blackstone griddle for $157 ($67 off).

REI: Outdoor co-op REI is a favorite among hikers, campers, and general outdoor enthusiasts. REI’s cyber week sale starts November 29, with rotating deals on a myriad of WIRED-tested products, though you will find their deals live now, notably not called “Black Friday.”

Home Depot: Home improvement projects and general home upkeep can get costly quick. Home Depot has Black Friday discounts for virtually everything you need for the home, including Christmas trees and smart home appliances.

Branch: We love Branch’s home office furniture, including some WIRED-tested favorite office chairs. Everything is 20 percent off for Black Friday, so now’s a great time to upgrade.

Helix: We love Helix mattresses—if you’re going to be spending a third of your life on something, it better be good. Upgrade your sleep for less with Helix’s Black Friday sale, with 25 percent off sitewide.

Target: Target has everything from groceries to flat screens to celebrity-endorsed beauty products. In addition to regular Black Friday sales, Target has price match guarantee and doorbuster clearance items.

Best Buy: In addition to major discounts for Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Best Buy rolls out new doorbusters every Friday, slashing prices on everything from refrigerators to MacBooks. We’ve rounded up the best Best Buy deals we’ve seen so far, including the latest Apple MacBook Pro (M5) for $1,349 ($250 off) and Google Pixel 10 for $599 ($200 off).

Dyson: Making everything from blow dryers to vacuums to air purifiers, we at WIRED are generally huge fans of this well-made, long-lasting (but often pricey) tech, made a lot more affordable with Black Friday sales.

Lowe’s: In addition to Black Friday sales, Lowe’s has rotating daily deals on home improvement essentials, upgraded appliances, and outdoor tools like grills and lawnmowers.

Atlas: At WIRED, we love caffeine, and subscription services. So we go bonkers for this coffee club subscription, and now you can get a free bag of beans for Black Friday.

Sephora: Not only does Sephora have a dizzying amount of cosmetics, it also carries some of our favorite WIRED-tested hair straighteners, blow dry brushes, and LED devices.

  • The Absolute BEST Black Friday Deal Finds + Full Sales List

We handled the tabs, the price histories, and the marketing spin. If it’s the lowest price all year, we marked it.

How to make Black Friday a good deal:

There are two approaches to using Black Friday sales to your advantage. You can 1) buy fewer, higher quality items at a more attainable price, or 2) take advantage of the pricing for buying quantity: upgrading your work or gym attire, replacing your underwear, etc. all in one go.

Black Friday is basically a sale with a panic attack attached. It’s loud, urgent, and determined to convince you that a toothbrush with six interchangeable heads will change your life.

Here’s a better way in. Primer’s men’s style “Pick Two” framework of affordability, ease, and quality can help make sense of the mess. Most of the time you get two. Black Friday is when you might actually swing all three.

That’s the real opportunity, buried under the fake markdowns and 37 open tabs.

The problem isn’t the way the sales are dressed up like emergencies, which culturally we’ve begun to see through. Yes, some retailers inflate prices just to “slash” them back down. It’s theatrical. But plenty of good brands use the weekend to offer their only actual discount of the year.

At a minimum, even when the price isn’t the absolute cheapest of the year, it will be cheaper than the normal going price. Which makes Black Friday the one time that you can get “easy” along with “affordable” and “quality”.

What makes the weekend useful is how it speeds everything up. Instead of waiting months for something to go on sale, you get a condensed window where prices make more sense. Better materials, solid construction, and things that usually feel a little out of reach suddenly land in budget range. You can skip the endless search for a “deal” that never quite arrives in your size.

It’s also when the slow, thoughtful shoppers finally get rewarded because nearly every brand that’s been sitting in your saved tabs decides to play ball at the same time. Instead of waiting and comparing one-off promotions all year, this is the window when everyone shows their hand.

It also lowers the risk of trying something new. A better sweater brand, a less terrible coffee maker, looser fit pants. Holiday return policies help.

The best move is to have a simple list. Things you already know you need or stuff you’ll use every day. Winter coats. Bedding you’ve postponed replacing for two years. The good storage bins. Expensive software subscriptions. Maybe a few gifts so you’re not panic-buying novelty hot sauces in mid-December.

That alone will save you money, time, and the stress of wondering if expedited shipping includes Sundays.

Black Friday is only chaos or a scam if you walk in without a plan and your expectations aren’t adjusted. It can actually be useful in a way that makes the rest of the year a little easier.

A bad deal: Buying something just because it’s on sale.

Smart spending: Taking some time to find things you’ve needed or will need while they’re on sale. Today’s the day.

Your Black Friday clothing deal FAQs, answered:

    Why you can trust me:

As Senior Fashion Commerce Writer here at Glamour, I get a heads-up on what all the Black Friday deals will be before anyone else. Thanks to my extensive list of PR contacts, I’m one of the first in line to be notified when embargoes lift too – so, as soon as I’m allowed to tell you (the general public) anything, I do.

Below, you’ll notice a fairly exclusive list of brands. These aren’t the only fashion brands that have started their Black Friday deals early, obviously, but they’re ones that I’ll be shopping personally; have the best discounts; wear well; and that I’ve tested before. Rest assured I’d never recommend you a brand I wouldn’t buy from myself, even if they’re on sale.

How to shop more sustainably on Black Friday and Cyber Monday:

It’s no secret that Cyber Week is a bit of a breeding ground for unsustainable shopping habits, but it doesn’t have to be. Here’s 3 tips on how to be more conscious when you shop the best Black Friday deals:

    1. Make a wishlist. Even if it’s on Black Friday/Cyber Monday itself, going in with a list of what you want and how much you’re willing to spend is always helpful – plus it prevents unnecessary purchases.
    2. Check the compositions of what you’re buying. Does the item contain a lot of plastic? If so, is at least recycled? Consider opting for something made with more environmentally friendly materials if not.
    3. Treat yourself, but think about who’s on your list for Christmas too. Clothing/fashion/accessories make for some great gifts for men, gifts for teenage girls, stocking filler ideas and so on.

When is Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2025?

The question on everyone’s lips: when is Black Friday this year? Black Friday 2025 falls on Friday 28th November, with Cyber Monday following on (shock) Monday 1st December.

Sales don’t need to be a cause for dread, or purchase-regret, either. If you favour capsule wardrobe staples (I’m talking loafers, blazers, jeans and classic white t-shirts) over fleeting trends, you can be the proud owner of the best high street staples and investment designer pieces from classic and upcoming retailers for a fraction of their usual price. It’s also a great opportunity to upgrade your festive outfit collection with party dresses, sequin dresses and more.

What is Black Friday? What is Cyber Monday?

Black Friday is the biggest shopping event of the year. It originated in America and first came to the UK back in 2010. Over the course of the past ten years it has grown exponentially, and you can now grab a discount (or three) from a whole plethora of fashion brands. A thrifty way of getting your Christmas shopping done before December hits. Cyber Monday is the Monday that follows Black Friday and often marks the last day of sales for a lot of brands.

The likes of Mango, H&M, Nike, The North Face and New Balance all take part in Black Friday and Cyber Monday, offering flash sales, discounts and deals on their best products. So it’s a great opportunity for those who are into fashion to save money.

  • Black Friday shoppers spend more time looking for deals but less money amid economic angst

Black Friday shoppers flocked to stores, hoping to get more bags for their buck as they grapple with inflation, tariffs and anxiety about the health of the economy.

Citadel Outlets in Commerce was mobbed Friday morning with long waits for parking and winding lines in front of stores as consumers tried to grab good deals. Camila Romero and her 13-year-old daughter spent hours in line trying to get the best possible deals on Ugg and Coach items on their wish lists.

“You come to the Citadel because it’s outlets. And it’s discounts on top of that,” she said. “So even when you’re broke, you don’t feel it.”

Shoppers across Los Angeles plan to spend less this holiday season, data show. While retailers tease their biggest deals and prepare for what they hope is robust demand, a Deloitte survey found that Angelenos plan to spend 14% less over the holidays compared with last year.

Nationally, shoppers are expected to spend 10% less than last year.

Consumers are pulling back on spending in response to economic uncertainty and rising prices, said Rebecca Lohrey, a partner at Deloitte with expertise in retail and e-commerce.

“There is at least a perception of higher prices and higher costs of goods,” Lohrey said. “That is a concern for consumers across the board, and is one of the reasons they’re tightening their wallets a little bit.”

The survey found that 62% of Angelenos expect the economy to weaken in the year ahead, up from 34% in 2024. Around the same percentage of respondents said they are concerned about a potential recession in the next six months.

Across income groups, consumers are making cost-cutting trade-offs and putting more emphasis on finding the best deal, the data showed. More than half of Los Angeles respondents said they would switch brands if their first choice was too expensive.

“It tends to be the lower income brackets or the middle income brackets that are the most likely to trade down,” said Collin Colburn, vice president of commerce and retail media at the Interactive Advertising Bureau. “This year, actually, everyone is trading down.”

Camryn Smith and her daughter showed up to snoop around for the deals at the Americana at Brand in Glendale early Friday morning. The discounts help knock off some of the effect of inflation, she said.

“The prices are higher and they just bring them down to what they normally would be,” Smith said. “It’s crazy.”

Consumers are fatigued from continuous inflation and instability brought on by the Trump administration. More shoppers are regifting or considering giving homemade gifts, the Deloitte survey found.

“We’ve been in an environment where prices continue to rise for a host of reasons, inflation being one, tariffs being another,” Colburn said. “I think when that happens year on year, it really drags on the consumer.”

This means more shoppers are looking for ways to save on purchases — and presents — they cannot put off.

The National Retail Federation predicts that a record number of Americans will shop the sales over Thanksgiving weekend. Retail sales in November and December are expected to grow between 3.7% and 4.2% compared with last year, the federation said.

Cautious consumers are more eager than ever to find a hot deal, said NRF chief economist Mark Mathews.

“People are changing the way that they spend,” he said. “They’re focusing more on stretching their dollar and getting value for the dollar.”

Even shoppers spending more than usual may be doing it out of concern, economists say. Consumers who anticipate inflation sometimes spend now out of fear that prices will rise later.

Brooklyn Farmer braved the crowds at Citadel to shop and try to save amid inflation.

“People are struggling right now, but the holidays are still important to them,” he said. “The thinking is if there’s going to be discounts like this, I might as well go while I can, instead of spending more later.”

Of those surveyed by Deloitte in Los Angeles, 43% said they planned to spend most of their holiday budget at big-box retailers and 32% said they would spend the most at digital-first retailers.

Shoppers are also using new tools to help them find products and deals, including artificial intelligence. Data collected by the Interactive Advertising Bureau found that AI now ranks as the second-most influential shopping source, ahead of retailers’ websites and apps and behind only search engines.

Nearly 90% of shoppers nationally said AI helps them find products they wouldn’t have found otherwise, according to the IAB data.

Mattel, the El Segundo-based toy company, is offering up to 50% off at Target on Hot Wheels, Barbie dolls and Disney Princess toys, said company spokesperson Kelly Powers.

“Mattel is working closely with retailers across the country on Black Friday deals,” Powers said.

In May, Mattel said it was considering raising its prices to offset the effect of President Trump’s tariffs on China..

On the October earnings call, however, the company said the full effect of tariffs won’t be seen until the fourth quarter.

Discount retailers that depend heavily on foot traffic have given conflicting signals about their business.

Walmart recently raised its sales forecast for the year after reporting a 6% year-over-year increase in revenue in the third quarter.

Target, in contrast, missed analyst expectations and reported a 1.5% decline in sales in the third quarter. On a call with analysts earlier this month, Target Chief Executive Brian Cornell said the company “has not been performing up to its potential.”

Of course, for many shoppers on Friday, the pilgrimage to splurge at the local mall was about more than saving.

Ericka Pentasuglia brought her daughter to the Americana the Brand at around 3 a.m. to be the first in line for a pop-up store selling Billie Eilish perfume. She thought it was important for her to pass down the tradition of Black Friday shopping.

“I do feel like it is dying a little bit,” Pentasuglia said. “The best thing is that you don’t lose a tradition, it continues to your children.”

  • The Pod Coffee Makers I Use Every Day Are on Sale for Black Friday

Pod coffee makers are contentious, but I love them. I’m a big fan of getting caffeine into my system as quickly as possible upon waking up. While I can understand the ritual and ceremony behind crafting a fancy cappuccino or pulling the perfect espresso shot, my morning self simply cannot be bothered. If you, too, believe in the power of the pod, there are tons of pod coffee maker deals for Black Friday.

Make sure to check out our roundup of the Best Black Friday Coffee Deals for more discounts on WIRED-tested gear. Want a wider range of deals? Check out the Absolute Best Black Friday Deals roundup and our Black Friday liveblog.

    WIRED Featured Deals:

Bruvi BV-01 Brewer Bundle for $198 ($150 off)

    Photograph: Louryn Strampe

The Bruvi BV-01 is my favorite pod-style coffee maker. It’s cute as a button, with clean and simple lines and an aesthetically pleasing design that should match any kitchen decor. I like the large touchscreen interface and the built-in wastebasket. My favorite part, though, is that the proprietary B-Pods are biodegradable and designed to break down in a landfill. I don’t have to worry about specialty recycling or sending the pods off somewhere to be processed. And yes, the resulting beverage is good, too, be it coffee, tea, or “espresso.” (Sale price with coupon.)

Ninja DualBrew Pro for $150 ($90 off)

    Ninja

    DualBrew Pro Specialty Coffee System

Sometimes a pod will do, and sometimes you want a whole pot of coffee. Rather than sacrifice double the counter space, consider the Ninja DualBrew Pro. This pod coffee maker can be used with K-Cups or coffee grounds that you supply, and in addition to brewing individual cups of coffee, you can also make entire carafes. There’s a built-in milk frother, though you’ll need to warm the milk separately, and you can also brew directly over ice if you prefer your coffee cold. While the machine is on the large side, I like that you can reposition the water reservoir to make it fit your countertop more efficiently.

Keurig K-Café Smart Single Serve Coffee Maker for $150 ($50 off)

    Keurig

K-Café Smart Single Serve Coffee Maker

This is the pod coffee maker I find myself reaching for most often. My entire family loves it, partially thanks to the built-in milk steamer that can warm and whip up milk for specialty beverages like lattes. I can make my nearly black coffee, and my little sister can make her fancy syrupy-sweet foamy whatsits, with no specialty tools or time spent setting anything up. It’s easy to use, with on-board controls that let you choose a capacity and a strength, and a large reservoir that you won’t need to refill often. The brewer will intelligently identify compatible K-Cups and suggest recipes in the optional app, but I personally found the app pretty annoying. Thankfully, it isn’t necessary to get the most out of this machine.

    Nespresso

Vertuo Pop+ Brewer and Aeroccino 3 Frother Bundle

Technically, Nespresso brewers don’t reach high enough pressure levels to brew true espresso. But the many different espresso pod varieties result in an espresso-like beverage with more bite and body than drip coffee. There are also pods for plain ol’ coffee, and I liked them both. I’m personally not partial to flavored brews, but my co-testers were fans of Nespresso’s almond, caramel, and mocha Vertuo varieties. I think this pod coffee machine could be more user-friendly—it took me a second to figure out how to insert a pod—but I like that the capsules are recyclable, and that the machine collects its own waste. This deal comes bundled with an Aeroccino milk frother that can help elevate your morning drink of choice. I’d be remiss not to mention the rainbow of color options for this machine, most of which are on sale for Black Friday.

  • Shopping for Black Friday deals? Here’s how to avoid online scams.

Before you click “purchase” on a Black Friday online deal, you may want to think twice.

Black Friday is expected to be one of the biggest shopping days of the year, with Americans forecast to spend $11.7 billion online, according to Adobe Analytics. Mobile shopping will drive more than half of all sales, Adobe estimates.

As millions of Americans search apps and websites for deals, experts warn that consumers should be on the lookout for fraudsters who will try to capitalize on the holiday shopping rush.

“Limited time only, gotta do it now, before it sells out, whatever it is. That whole sense of urgency is something bad guys love,” Lisa Plaggemier, executive director of the National Cybersecurity Alliance, told CBS News Texas.

Fake QR codes, phony social media posts and phishing emails are just some of the tools scammers use to lure consumers into unwittingly forking over their information.

To pull off their schemes, fraudsters are increasingly leveraging artificial intelligence. One common scam is creating “deepfakes” — videos that appear to be a celebrity or influencer promoting a product but are in fact a dupe — to bait people into visiting counterfeit websites. That means that what you see may not be what you get.

Once there, fraudsters can steal both your payment information and your personal credentials.

“You can’t rely on your eyes and ears anymore,” Plaggemier said.

Scammers are also creating social media ads that mimic popular brands to fool customers into thinking whatever they are buying is the real deal, according to LifeLock, an identity theft protection service.

Here are some tips to avoid scams if you’re planning to make online purchases on Black Friday.

    • Check the URL to make sure it’s from a reputable retailer. Scammers often create fake websites that mirror other businesses’ URLs. The fake ones, however, will contain misspellings or extra numbers and letters. For example, a fraudster might use the lookalike URL be5tbuy.com to mimic bestbuy.com, according to LifeLock. If something seems amiss, take a moment to reconsider your purchase.
    • Use a credit card. Experts say using a credit card can better protect against fraud. With debit cards, the onus falls on you to get your money back, according to NerdWallet, a personal finance website. With credit cards, it’s up to the card issuer to get the money back, meaning the consumer faces less legwork and an easier path to getting a refund. Whatever card you use, experts encourage shoppers to track their purchase history to make sure nothing is amiss.
    • Be skeptical of offers or discounts that seem too good to be true. Caila Schwartz, director of consumer insights at Salesforce, told CBS News in an email that shoppers should verify offers directly on the retailer’s web page.
    • Read the fine print. While it may be easy to skim over purchase details, experts encourage shoppers to give them some extra attention. Melanie McGovern, the director of public relations and social media at the nonprofit Better Business Bureau, told CBS News Texas that shoppers should check shipping dates, return policies and  restocking dates for sold-out items. “Just doing general things before you make that purchase will help you to make sure you get the item before the holidays,” she told CBS News Texas.
    • Use the Better Business Bureau’s Scam Tracker. The tool lets you report scams and read those documented by other consumers, helping you avoid falling for the same tactics.
    • Be wary of links from unsolicited emails and text messages. Scammers often send messages that appear to come from a legitimate company, urging you to take an action such as updating your payment information. LifeLock advises consumers to check the sender’s email address to confirm it matches the organization it claims to be. Shoppers should also watch for spelling or branding mistakes, a common sign of a scam.

  • 15 Surprisingly Good Black Friday Gift Ideas for the Tech Lover in Your Life

If you’re looking to get a gift for someone into tech, you know it can be challenging to figure out what to buy. This year for Black Friday, the most interesting deals aren’t necessarily the flashiest. They’re the practical, delightfully nerdy tools people will actually use.

This isn’t a list of the cheapest tech—in fact, some of these things aren’t even on sale for Black Friday. Instead, it’s a list of the best tech to give someone you actually like. These are product ideas that solve real problems and would be a welcome gift for any tech aficionado.

The Paper Pro Move is just a few months old, and I’ve been reviewing it since it came out. I think it’s fair to say it’s the most thoughtfully designed “mini” device of the year. It shrinks reMarkable’s new color e-ink canvas to a 7.3-inch display—roughly paperback size—while keeping the adjustable front light, Gallery 3 color, and reMarkable’s signature paper-like writing feel. The pixel density jumps to 264 PPI, making text sharper than even the full-size Paper Pro.

If someone on your list takes field notes, travels light, or found the original 11.8-inch Paper Pro too unwieldy, this is the one to get. The catch: it’s brand new, so no straight discounts.

Who It’s For: Note-takers, creatives, commuters, field workers, and anyone who writes more than they type.
Best Deal for Black Friday: The official bundle discount ($50 off) on the Move + Marker Plus + Type Folio.

    2. Anker Nano Power Bank (10K, 45W)

Anker’s best pocketable charger is on one of its best sales ever. The Nano Power Bank has an integrated retractable USB-C cable—no more scrambling for cords—and a 10,000 mAh battery that can refuel most phones twice. The best feature is the 45W output, which is powerful enough to charge a MacBook Air or Nintendo Switch.

Who It’s For: Travelers, commuters, students, and anyone who lives out of a sling bag.
Best Deal for Black Friday: $39.99 (down from $59.99) at Amazon and Anker.

    3. Sony A7 IV

Sony’s A7 IV remains one of the most balanced, capable, and reliable full-frame cameras you can buy—especially for the price. It features a 33MP sensor, excellent low-light performance, industry-leading autofocus, and oversampled 4K video. It’s not the newest body in Sony’s lineup, but that’s the point: it’s the rare camera that’s good at everything without costing flagship money.

Who It’s For: Enthusiast photographers, hybrid shooters, vloggers, and anyone moving up from an APS-C camera.
Best Deal for Black Friday: $1,998 for the body ($700 off), at B&H Photo.

    4. Nespresso Vertuo Creatista

This year, the Nespresso Vertuo Creatista arrives on Black Friday with a compelling case: it blends the instant convenience of pods with a legit steam wand for lattes, cappuccinos, or flat whites. Not only that, but it all comes inside a polished stainless-steel body that looks more like a countertop espresso machine than a pod brewer. Its 2-liter water tank, auto-eject capsule system, and built-in frother make it a one-button way to satisfy both espresso and latte cravings.

Who It’s For: Coffee lovers who want café-quality espresso, cappuccinos, and lattes at home without learning the art of tamping and pulling shots—ideal for apartment dwellers, new homeowners, or anyone upgrading from a standard drip pot.
Best Deal for Black Friday: As low as $418.98 at Amazon (Down from $699.95 list price).

    5. Sonos Arc Ultra + Sub

If it’s time to give yourself or someone you love a home-theater upgrade, this is the one. The new Arc Ultra shrinks the soundbar while improving its bass and clarity thanks to Sonos’s “Sound Motion” transducer tech. Paired with the Sub (Gen 4), it delivers room-filling sound and best-in-class dialogue enhancement. As a result, movies sound dramatically better, especially voices—the Arc Ultra’s center channel is exceptional.

Who It’s For: Movie lovers, home-theater enthusiasts, and anyone who struggles to hear dialogue.
    Best Deal for Black Friday:
$1,499 for the bundle from Sonos and major retailers (about $500 off typical pricing).

    6. EcoFlow 140W Rapid GaN Charger

EcoFlow has quietly become one of the most compelling accessory makers, and the Rapid 140W GaN charger is a perfect example. It’s compact, supports USB-C PD 3.1, and can charge a 16-inch MacBook Pro at full speed. Multiple USB-C ports (plus USB-A) make it a one-brick solution for phones, laptops, watches, and earbuds. Because it uses GaN technology, it’s also small enough to throw in just about any bag.

Who It’s For: Anyone trying to simplify their bag—or ditch the tangle of chargers behind their desk—will appreciate this.
Best Deal for Black Friday: $74.99 at EcoFlow.com.

    7. July Carry On Suitcase

July has become our favorite suitcase brand, and for good reason. The curved polycarbonate corners are more durable than standard designs, and the “SilentMove” wheels are among the smoothest—and quietest—of any carry-on. Seriously, they’re so good that they were the first thing my wife commented on when we packed for our recent trip to Lisbon in a July Carry-On. Not only that, but the CaseSafe models have built-in Apple Find My support, as well as an ejectable power bank.

Who It’s For: Frequent travelers, business flyers, and anyone upgrading from a cheap spinner.
Best Deal for Black Friday: $220 for the Carry On Light.

    8. M4 MacBook Air

Apple finally fixed the MacBook Air’s only real drawback by making 16GB of RAM standard. The new M4 chip is faster, more efficient, and supports dual external displays—a first for the Air with the lid open. For students, writers, office workers, and just about everyone else, this is the best all-around laptop you can buy. Right now you can get pretty great deals on the MacBook Air from Amazon and other retailers.

Who It’s For: Students, office workers, creators, and anyone replacing a laptop older than four years.
Best Deal for Black Friday: $899 at Amazon and B&H.

    9. AirPods Pro 3

AirPods Pro 3 look familiar, but the updates are pretty big: a built-in heart rate sensor, better waterproofing (IP57), improved bass, and 8 hours of battery life with ANC. The fitness-tracking alone makes them the easiest upgrade recommendation for any runner or gym-goer.

If you want to save just a little more money, the AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation are on sale for only $110 online at Walmart.

Who It’s For: Fitness lovers, commuters, and anyone still using AirPods from 2019.
Best Deal for Black Friday: $219.99 on Amazon.

    10. Whoop MG

The Whoop 5.0 MG is a significant upgrade for the platform, with 14-day battery life and new medical-grade features, including FDA-cleared ECG and blood-pressure trend monitoring via its conductive clasp. It keeps Whoop’s distraction-free design while offering excellent data accuracy for sleep, recovery, and strain. If you’re not into ECG and BP trend data, the standard Whoop 5.0 has the same long battery life for less.

Who It’s For: Athletes, sleep trackers, health-conscious users, and anyone who wants the most accurate data without wearing a smartwatch.
Best Deal for Black Friday: $299 “Life” Membership (normally $359). If you don’t need the medical features, the standard 5.0 Peak membership is $199.

    11. Sony WH-1000XM5

Sony’s WH-1000XM5 remain the gold standard for noise-canceling headphones. They deliver exceptional ANC, 30-hour battery life, lightweight comfort, and dramatically better microphone quality for calls. Sony’s tuning is warm, detailed, and fatigue-free—ideal for long flights or hours-long focus sessions. At their annual Black Friday price, they’re one of the best headphone deals you’ll find.

Who It’s For: Frequent flyers, commuters, remote workers, students, and anyone who needs silence on demand.
Best Deal for Black Friday: $298 (down from $399) at Amazon, Best Buy, and Target.

    12. Kindle Paperwhite (2024 Signature Edition)

Amazon’s refreshed Signature Edition brings a faster processor, snappier page-turns, a larger 7-inch display, 32GB of storage, wireless charging, and an ambient light sensor that adjusts automatically. For pure reading, nothing beats the Paperwhite’s combination of screen quality, battery life, and portability.

Who It’s For: Avid readers, travelers, students, and anyone trying to get off their phone at night.
Best Deal I’ve Found: $154.99 (normally $199) at Amazon.

    13. Level Lock Pro

The Level Lock Pro keeps the same invisible, inside-the-door design as the Level Lock+, but upgrades nearly everything internally: native motion sensing for faster auto-unlock, full Matter-over-Thread support, and Door Sense—a physical status indicator that tells you if the door is open or closed. It remains the best “you can’t tell it’s a smart lock” option on the market and continues to support Apple Home Keys.

The Pro is new and isn’t on sale for Black Friday, but the Level Lock+ is. If you’re willing to sacrifice Matter support and Door Sense, it’s a great deal.

Who It’s For: Apple Home users, smart-home fans, minimalists, and anyone who hates bulky keypad locks.
Best Deal for Black Friday: No discounts on the Pro itself, but the Level Lock+ is $229—saving you $120 if you don’t need the new hardware features.

    14. Nanu Arc Alarm Clock

The Nanu Arc is a design-forward, phone-free alarm clock with a mechanical chime—striking an actual metal bar—that creates a calming, gradual wake-up sound. It’s beautifully made, repairable, battery-powered (USB-C), and designed to keep your phone out of the bedroom without sacrificing elegance or functionality.

Who It’s For: A perfect gift for the “digital detox” crowd—or anyone who wants to stop waking up to their phone.
Best Deal for Black Friday: $254 (normally $299), one of the only discounts Nanu products see all year.

The original Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses look like classic sunglasses but add surprisingly good open-ear audio, hands-free POV photo/video capture, and on-device Meta AI tools. The audio quality is surprisingly good, and being able to capture moments without holding up a phone changes how you record memories.

Who It’s For: Travelers, parents, creators, and early adopters who love capturing candid moments.
Best Deal for Black Friday: $239 (20% off), for the original version.

  • The Best GoPro and Camera Deals for Black Friday

If you’re in the market for a new camera, this holiday season is the time to buy. There are some great Black Friday camera deals available right now, including one on our favorite GoPro, the GoPro Hero 13 Black. There are plenty of other GoPro camera deals, along with some good buys on cameras from Insta360, DJI, Fujifilm, and more.

For more info about action cams, check out our complete guide. Also, be sure to read our guide to the Best GoPros, Best 360 Cameras, Best Instax Cameras, Best Travel Cameras, and Best Mirrorless Cameras. Head to our full roundup for more Black Friday deals.

Updated November 28: We’ve added a new section of mirrorless camera deals, along with a deal on Polaroid’s latest Now camera.

Do You Need a New Camera?

Probably not. Probably what you need to do is spend a lot more time with the one you have, but if buying a new camera makes you feel like maybe you’re getting better at photography, far be it for me to stop you. Hitting too close to home? I feel you. I mean I want a new camera. I want the Sony A7C R, which is an amazing camera. The autofocus is light year’s ahead of my A7R II, the sensor is bigger, the dynamic range is better, and it’s smaller and lighter. What’s not to love? But it isn’t going to instantly make me take better pictures.

To make better images you have to spend time at it. It takes practice, shooting everyday, even if you only have 10 minutes. Walk around the neighborhood and play with different compositions, try shooting in ways you normally don’t. Experiment with different light at different times of the day. Just get out an shoot more. Most of it will be garbage, but you’ll be learning.

If you need a new camera to get you to do that, then carry on, there are some truly great deals to be had right now.

    The Best Action Camera Deal

GoPro did not release a new model of its Hero action camera this year. Last year’s Hero 13 is still the latest, but it’s on sale for Black Friday anyway. Last year’s GoPro Hero 13 was the first significant change for GoPro’s flagship action camera in many years. The company added an interchangeable lens system, along with Macro, Ultra Wide, and Anamorphic lenses, plus a set of four neutral density filters. The new interchangeable lens system opens up shooting possibilities that simply don’t exist with other action cameras. For some reason, this camera often gets overlooked. It’s just fun to shoot with.

I think the slickest part of the Hero 13’s new lens and filter system is that the Hero 13 Black autodetects which lens is attached and changes the Hero 13’s settings accordingly. This is especially nice for those who don’t want to fiddle with fine-tuning their camera settings every time they change lenses or pop on a neutral density filter. I’ve been using all three lenses for over a year now, and they’re all nice, but the Ultra Wide is my favorite. I mainly use my GoPro to shoot from the handlebars of my bike, so the wider the shot, the better and more immersive the footage becomes, hence my love of the Ultra Wide. The Hero Black ultrawide edition is also on sale.

Everything that made GoPro a household name is here as well, with industry-leading hypersmooth stabilization, all kinds of helpful shooting modes, and support for GoPro’s Quik app. Also note that if you buy through gopro.com, the company includes a year’s worth of GoPro Premium, the company’s subscription cloud storage service. If the GoPro has a shortcoming, it’s the battery life. It’s OK, but not great. I suggest grabbing an extra battery.

So, given that there was no Hero 14 this year, how future-proof is the Hero 13? I would say very future-proof. I will admit, the newly announced DJI Action 6, which has a variable aperture lens, is very interesting, but it’s still an automated aperture rather than giving you a full aperture priority mode. I’m also a little leery of DJI products, given the ban on imports that starts December 23, 2025. The Insta360 Ace Pro 2 below is also on sale, and I do love that camera as well, especially with the new accessories that turn it into something more like a point-and-shoot. But in the end, when I head out the door for a ride, or a paddle, or, right now, some snowshoeing, the action camera I reach for remains the GoPro Hero 13 Black.

    Other Great Action Camera Deals

    DJI

    Osmo Action 5 Pro

Our top pick action camera for most people, the Action 5 is a great option. It has better battery life than the Hero 13, and better low light performance, though do keep in mind that support in the US will be limited after December 23, 2025.

    Insta360

    Ace Pro 2

If you’re going to turn your action camera on yourself, the Ace Pro 2 is our top pick for vlogging. It has a great lens and sensor co-engineered with Leica, capable of recording 8K video at up to 30 fps. My only gripe is the lack of 10-bit color, but unless you’re doing your color in post, you won’t miss it.

    Deals on Action Camera Accessories

    The Best 360 Camera Deal

    • Photograph: Scott Gilbertson

    • Photograph: Scott Gilbertson

The GoPro Max 2 is the best 360 camera you can buy, and it’s currently $100 off. The dual 14 mm (35 mm equivalent) lenses of the Max 2 each record to a 1/2.3-inch chip, the largest available in a 360 camera. This gives what GoPro calls “True 8K” video, by which the company means that the actual recorded area of the sensor is 8K, whereas other 360 cameras have an 8K sensor, but only record about 6K or 7K worth of that sensor as the actual image. The short story is that the Max 2’s video is sharper and clearer. Couple this with support for 10-bit color in Log files, and you have footage that the competition just can’t match.

    Other 360 Camera Deals

    Insta360

    X5 360 Camera

Our former top pick, the Insta360 X5 is still an excellent 360 camera. It uses twin 1/1.28″ sensors to capture very near 8K video. The dynamic range is impressive, and the color science here is very good though it does tend toward the oversaturated.

    Insta360

    X4 360 Camera

This is the best price you’re going to see on a 360 camera. The Insta360 X4 has been superseded by the X5, but it’s still a great camera. The video quality is the same resolution as the X5 (8K), but it lacks the X5’s updated sensors, processor, and improved color options.

    A Fun, Screen-Free Digital Camera

A hand holding up a pink Camp Snap Digital Camera

    Photograph: Nena Farrell

What if there were a film camera that captured digital images? That’s what the Camp Snap camera is, the screen-free aspect means that, like film, you don’t know how your images look until later— you can keep photographing without getting pulled out of the moment as much. The Camp Snap can hold up to 2,000 photos on the preinstalled memory card, and it comes with a USB-C cable to download the photos onto your computer. This one is a fun gift to give too.

The Best Deals on Instant Cameras

Front view of black instant film camera with the lens extended

    Photograph: B&H Photo

Fujifilm’s Instax Mini 99 is the best Instax camera for those who love manual controls and creative effects. The Mini 99 offers some manual focus and exposure controls, as well as some fun color effects, like the ability to simulate light leaks just like those thrift store cameras collecting dust on your shelf. There are two dials on top of the Mini 99. One acts like an exposure compensation dial, allowing you to adjust exposure value (EV) two stops brighter and two stops darker. I found the L (Lighten) and L+ useful when shooting against snow, which has a tendency to overwhelm small sensors like this one. It’s also good for strongly backlit scenes, though those are still not Instax’s strong suit. The Mini 99 has a 60-mm lens made of plastic. It works out to roughly the same field of view as a 35-mm lens in 35-mm format (or if you prefer, somewhere between 1x and 2x on your iPhone). The shutter is fixed at f/12.7, which means you’ll be relying on the flash in all but bright, sunny, outdoor shots. That said, unlike quite a few other Instax models, with the Mini 99 you can turn off the flash for those well-lit shots, and that means far fewer washed-out images.

Image may contain: Camera, Digital Camera, and Electronics

    Courtesy of Polaroid

Polaroid’s standard Now camera is close enough to the classic Polaroid that you probably won’t notice the difference. The Gen 3 version is an incremental update of the Gen 2, bringing better auto focus and improved flash. Otherwise, it’s the same basic design we love, with a nice chunky body and easy-to-find buttons.

    Other Instant Camera Deals

    Fujifilm

    Instax Mini 12

This one is nearly always on sale for Black Friday. It’s our pick for best budget Instax as it manages to be a capable, but easy-to-use camera wrapped in a colorful, bubbly design aimed at beginners.

    Fujifilm

    Instax Mini 41

The Mini 41 is essentially the Mini 12 in a different body. Same capabilities, but looking more like a “camera” should.

    Deals on Mirrorless Cameras

Front of the Nikon ZF camera

    Photograph: Scott Gilbertson

    Nikon

    Zf Mirrorless Camera

The Nikon Zf is the camera I would buy if I were in the market for a new camera. It’s all about the knobs and dials. Every setting you need to make an image is accessible on a dial or knob: ISO, aperture, shutter speed, and exposure compensation. There’s also a switch to change shooting modes and another to change to black-and-white mode or video mode. Pair that with a great 24-MP sensor and reasonably fast autofocus speeds, and you have a fantastic, reasonably priced camera. The best deal of the bunch here is Adorama’s lens bundle, which comes with a charger, memory card, lens filters, and cleaning kit.

    Other Mirrorless Camera Deals

    Sony

    A7RV

This deal is so good at has its own full write up. This is Sony’s top-of-the-line mirrorless camera at the lowest price it’s ever been. If you’ve been wanting to upgrade, now is the time.

    Sony

    A7 IV Camera

This is also a great deal on a more hybrid camera, with some video-extras, like 4K/30 fps video oversampled from a 7K sensor region. Be aware that the rumor mill says this one is due for an update, but it’s still a great camera, especially at this price.

The Best Deals on Our Favorite Photo Printing Services

A photograph isn’t a photograph until you print it. Strong words, but I’ll stand by them. Luckily, there are some great deals right now that will let you print your images without spending a fortune.

    Person's hand holding printed photographs

    Photograph: Mpix

Our favorite place to print photos is holding a 30 percent off sale on its print services. Mpix makes high-quality prints at a reasonable price, even when it’s full price, which makes this a great deal. Mpix prints on Kodak Endura paper and offers a variety of paper options. I tested the E-surface, which renders rich, deep blacks and true-to-life colors. It holds up well over time; the images we printed in 2013 look exactly like they did when we got them. We also like Mpix’s books and calendars.

If you need to print gifts for your family, Shutterfly is having a sitewide 50 percent off sale. We’re fans of Shutterfly’s book printing service, which had the best results so far in our testing of photo printing services. We also like the calendars. The printing is good enough, especially for the price, and shipping is generally speedy.

The highest-quality prints in our testing came from Adorama’s Printique service. It would be the top pick in our print services guide if it were a bit cheaper, which, with this deal, it is. You can choose from a range of papers, and they’re listed by their actual names, like Kodak Endura or Fujifilm Matte. I also like the option to print the date and file name on the back of each image.

  • Black Friday PS5 deals: Sony takes $100 off consoles, plus discounts on PlayStation games, accessories and more

The PlayStation 5 is getting a major Black Friday discount, with $100 off all models. That brings the PS5 Digital Edition down to $399, the standard PS5 to $449 and the new PS5 Pro to $649. If you’ve been holding out for the right time to upgrade or buy your first console, this is the deal to beat. You’ll find the deals direct at Sony and from other retailers including Amazon and Walmart.

Sony’s flagship console remains one of the most popular gaming systems available, and this Black Friday discount makes it even easier to jump in if you haven’t already. The standard PS5 and the slimmer PS5 Digital Edition both offer fast load times, smooth frame rates and crisp visuals powered by the custom AMD Zen 2 processor and RDNA 2 GPU. The difference between them comes down to the disc drive — the standard model includes one, while the Digital Edition relies entirely on digital downloads.

Image for the mini product module
Image for the mini product module

Korean moisturisers have also become a staple in our routines lately. Glamour commerce writer Alanna Martine Kilkeary simply can’t get enough of the Medicube Triple Collagen Cream, which is currently 30% off at just £18.20.

“I fell in love with this moisturiser the minute I tried it. It has a bouncy, gel-like consistency that glides right onto the skin and quickly sinks in, leaving you looking and feeling radiant but not overly shiny. I definitely think it made a huge difference in the fine lines on my forehead and around my nose after consistent use — both areas feel more firm and plump,” she says.

We also found K-beauty deals on the soothing The Face Shop Rice Ceramide Cream, which is now only £5.62 compared to its usual £14, as well as the COSRX Snail Mucin All In One Cream that’s a whopping 30% off its usual price tag.

  • 5 Reasons Black Friday Is One of My Most Productive Days of the Year

It’s Black Friday and I’m working. It’s not that I have to work — I’m self-employed and can choose my own schedule — it’s that I find this a great day to get things done. Now, to be fair, I’m an American in Switzerland so it’s a regular day (as was Thanksgiving) here. But almost all my HR clients are in the U.S., so they aren’t working. My son has work, and my daughter is recovering from a Thanksgiving Day wisdom tooth extraction, so it’s not like we were having a big family shopping trip or anything like that.

But if we weren’t traveling over Thanksgiving, I’ve always opted to work on Black Friday, and save my vacation time for other days — even when I worked corporate. Here are five reasons why working on a day when most white collar workers are eating leftovers and grabbing deals. (Granted, if you work in retail, getting this day off is super hard to do!)

    Here is why:

    1. Communications slow down. No dings from Slack. A few emails here and there. It’s mostly quiet. As someone who is easily distracted, having a day with fewer distractions to get things done is a blessing.
    2. December is an important month. While gift certificates for HR consulting and webinars don’t typically appear in people’s stockings (although I’d be happy to make one for you if you’d like to buy), companies still have much they need to accomplish before the ball drops. This gives me a leg up on being ready for a busy December.
    3. December is a busy month. While my kids no longer have Christmas concerts I need to attend, I am the production manager for our local Christmas Panto, which plays in December. On top of that I have parties and improv performances that take up a lot of time. Working today gives me a bit more time to work around those things in December.
    4. I have way too much stuff as is. While I am in Switzerland, the Black Friday concept has arrived here. Yes, there are bargains to be found, no I don’t need any of them, unless an airline wants to put tickets on sale. Running to stores to snag deals on things I don’t need isn’t really a deal.
    5. The messages I send out don’t get lost. Since my client and vendor base is in the U.S., most of them have today off, but if I send out an email today it is likely to be seen by those who are working. Sure, a marketing email might be lost by Monday, but I’m reaching a core audience by working today.

This list, in no way, shape, or form, should guilt you into getting work done today if you don’t want to. Take time with your family. Take time to eat pie. Shop ‘til you drop! If that is what works best for you and your business and your life, do that.

But don’t feel guilty spending a bit of time working if that is something that will make your life better.

  • A Record 187 Million Shoppers Expected for Black Friday Weekend

As the holiday shopping season begins, the latest data from the National Retail Federation (NRF) shows record crowds for Black Friday. That’s an estimated 186.9 million shoppers between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday. At the same time, many consumers are finding fewer bargains and confronting higher prices across the board.

If you’re an entrepreneur, this moment offers more than a snapshot of retail trends, and it’s a call to action for our small businesses.

A call to action for founders

So, why do this year’s Black Friday sales matter:

    • When big-box retailers pull back on steep promotions and consumers tighten budgets, the spotlight turns to value—both in product and in relationship.
    • That shift presents a critical moment for smaller, independent businesses to shine, whether by emphasizing that special, local connection, niche expertise, or community impact.
    • Small business owners want to build trust, purpose, and distinctiveness, not just discounts.

    Enter Small Business Saturday.

After Black Friday, don’t forget about Small Business Saturday. This year, more than ever, backing our local entrepreneurs is not just nice, it’s strategic. Whether you’re a founder, investor, supplier, or customer, here’s how you can tune into the opportunity:

    • If you’re a founder, use this week to highlight your unique story: why you exist, whom you serve, and what difference you make.
    • If you’re a partner or investor, re-think supply chains and marketing spend. Can you reallocate a portion to help local, under-represented businesses scale?
    • Consumers, know that your dollars are super important. A purchase at a local business often circulates through the community more effectively than a purchase at a national chain.

Here’s to elevating small business success in 2025 and beyond. Let’s support the entrepreneurs who are defining the future by staying grounded in the local, the creative, the equitable.

Happy Small Business Saturday to all, and stay tuned. A special episode of The Big Idea drops this Saturday featuring Tina Wells, brought to you by PayPal. Tina is an entrepreneur, author, and brand strategist known for her work helping companies better understand and reach modern consumers.
