#IndianaJones collected an underwhelming $60 million in its opening weekend. That would be a decent amount of money for a tentpole aimed at older audiences, but it’s one of the most expensive movies ever, costing $295 million before marketing. https://t.co/08uRreYF1U pic.twitter.com/9K1PP8wnQ7

Another major blockbuster, another disappointing opening. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny debuted this weekend in 4,600 theaters and took in $60 million and another $70 million internationally for a $130 million global debut. This one cost almost $300 million to produce(!!!!) so we’re looking at another major money loser folks! The film recevied a B+ from Cinemascore and currently has a 3.1 on Letterboxd.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse ($11.5 million) and Elemental ($11.3 million) followed. Both films only fell 39% from last week and have domestic totals at $339.8 and $88.7 million respectively. No Hard Feelings came in 4th, dropping 50% from last week to $7.5 million. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts rounded out the Top 5 with $7 million.
Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken, flopped at 6th with $5.2 million from 3,400 theaters. This was another expensive one at $70 million. It received an A- Cinemascore and currently has a 2.8 on Letterboxd. The Flash fell all the way to 8th place, dropping 67% from last week to $5 million. The film has yet to pass the $100 million mark. Asteroid City took in $3.8 million.
