Creed III debuted this weekend to a stunning $58.6 million from 4,007 theaters. The directorial debut of Michael B Jordan was estimated for a $40 million opening on Friday morning. Its the biggest opening of the Creed franchise and the highest opening weekend for a sports film. The film recieved an A- Cinemascore and a 80% recommend from PostTrak. Oversees it took in $41.8 million, for a worldwide debut of $100 million.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania took 2nd, falling another 61% to $12.47 million and losing 520 theaters in the process. The films domestic total stands at $186.7 million. After another hard drop and this month’s calendar being jam-packed, chances are high it doesn’t pass Ant-Man and the Wasp’s domestic total of $216 million.
Cocaine Bear dropped to 3rd with $11 million, a 53% drop from its debut weekend. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba—To the Swordsmith Village debuted in 4th with $10.1 million from 1,774 locations. It had the second highest pta for the weekend. Jesus Revolution rounded out the Top 5 with $8.65 million, dropping 46%.
Guy Richie’s Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre debuted in 7th place with $3.16 million from 2,100 theaters.
