Ariana Madix may have been struggling with her finances in the years leading up to her messy split from Tom Sandoval.
Just over a week after Sandoval’s alleged months-long affair with Raquel Leviss was revealed to the world, it’s been revealed that Ariana was hit with two tax liens the months after she and Sandoval purchased their $2 million mansion in Los Angeles, one in the amount of $37,598 and another for $9,740.
According to a report from The U.S. Sun on March 9, Ariana appears to have paid off the lesser lien. However, when it comes to the larger amount, that lien has been “outstanding” since 2019.
The outlet also revealed that Ariana and Sandoval took precautions to prevent foreclosure after buying their Valley Village property, even though they seemingly put it at risk as he and Tom Schwartz “invested millions” into their newest bar, Schwartz & Sandy’s.
As The U.S. Sun explained, Ariana and Sandoval filed an assignment of rents clause, which allows the lender to collect rent payments from the mortgaged home “in the event of default by the borrower,” and a reconveyance, which transfers the title of a property from the lender to the borrower.
Although Ariana and Sandoval are both still living in the home, Kristen Doute, along with other friends, have been doing their best to alleviate tensions.
On the latest episode of her podcast, Sex, Love and What Else Matters, Kristen recalled Sandoval’s initial return to the home after his rumored affair was revealed, and explained the efforts she and others have made.
“He came home and walked right in,” Kristen recalled, via OK! Magazine. “We all just sort of sat there quietly, and he’s like ‘Yeah, I know everyone hates me.’”
“Unfortunately, I have to respect that they share that home. As much as I want to say ‘Get the f-ck out’— legally, he is allowed to be at that house. The best thing we can do right now is repeat what the laws are,” she continued.
While Kristen and one of their other mutual friends requested Sandoval give a heads-up before he enters the home as to allow Ariana a chance to leave, Sandoval was reportedly unwilling to do so.
“No one is saying you can’t come home, but we have a mediator for you guys that has been willing to be that mouthpiece between the two of them and just say ‘Can you give her a couple of hours heads up at least before you come home so she can leave?’” Kristen explained.
But he reportedly replied, “‘[Ariana] can leave if she’s not comfortable.’”
In other news, Ariana has returned to Instagram after deactivating her account on the heels of the “Scandoval” reveal.
Following her social media return, Ariana either unfollowed or blocked both Sandoval and Raquel.
