After reporting potential robbers to the police, two Georgia Lululemon employees are now sharing their experiences of being terminated from their positions.
Jennifer Ferguson, the former assistant manager at the Lululemon store, along with Rachel Rogers, were terminated by the retail chain following an incident captured on video. Before calling the police, the footage showed the two individuals loudly confronting and pursuing masked robbers who had entered their store. Additionally, Ferguson and Rogers says it was this incident that led to their dismissal.
According to reports, the thieves had allegedly targeted the establishment on several occasions in the preceding months. In the video, there was a moment when they appeared to briefly contemplate the demand made by the employee before re-entering the store and seizing additional items.
Subsequently, the employees proceeded to document the thieves’ departure from the store as they entered a getaway vehicle.
Following the incident, the employees promptly contacted the Gwinnett Police Department to report the robbery. Despite not receiving clear explanations for their dismissals, Ferguson says that management referenced the company’s “no-tolerance policy” as the basis for their actions.
“We are not supposed to get in the way. You kind of clear path for whatever they’re going to do,” Ferguson said.. “And then, after it’s over, you scan a QR code. And that’s that. We’ve been told not to put it in any notes, because that might scare other people. We’re not supposed to call the police, not really supposed to talk about it.”
Nevertheless, authorities later found the thieves and charged them with felony robbery.
