The official To Catch a Killer trailer for Vertical’s upcoming thriller drama has been revealed, featuring Shailene Woodley as a cop who gets enlisted into the FBI to search for the whereabouts of a serial killer. The film is scheduled to hit the theaters on April 21.

The video also shows Ben Mendelsohn as an FBI detective teaming up with Woodley’s character, who he believes got what it takes to accomplish the mission due to her similarities with the killer.

To Catch a Killer is written and directed by Argentinian filmmaker Damián Szifron in his first English-language film. The film will be led by Shailene Woodley (Divergent films) as Eleanor, Ben Mendelsohn (Ready Player One) as the lead cop, and Jovan Adepo (Watchmen) as Mackenzie.

“A modern-day Clarice Starling, Eleanor (Woodley) is a young police investigator wrestling with the demons of her past when she is recruited by the FBI’s chief investigator (Mendelsohn) to help profile and track the work of a disturbed individual,” reads the synopsis. As the police and FBI launch a nationwide manhunt, they are thwarted at every turn by the individual’s unprecedented behavior. Given her tortured psyche, Eleanor may be the only person who can understand the mind of their assailant and bring him to justice.

The R-rated thriller is produced by Szifron, Woodley, Aaron Ryder, and Stuart Manashil. Jonathan Wakeham has also co-written the script with Szifron.
