  • FBI Worried Nancy Guthrie’s Disappearance Is Becoming A ‘Cold Case’ – The Heartbreaking Reason Why – Perez Hilton

    [ad_1]

This is the kind of update no family ever wants to hear.

The search for Nancy Guthrie has taken a devastating turn, as sources inside the FBI now tell TMZ that her disappearance is inching closer to what investigators say could become a “cold case.” Ugh. Those two words land with a thud. And the implication is chilling: leads drying up, time stretching on, hope becoming harder to hold onto.

Related: Searches For Nancy Guthrie’s Address & Savannah’s Salary Spiked Before Abduction!

The outlet reported so on Tuesday when it cited anonymous FBI insiders who used those exact two words to describe the unfortunate path along which Nancy’s case is currently winding. One investigator involved in the case told the news outlet that it’s quickly heading that way.

However, hope has not been entirely extinguished. In many kidnappings, breakthroughs come months later — sometimes when someone talks too much, brags, or lets something slip. And per the news org, law enforcement sources believe that could happen here, months down the road, when somebody starts talking about their involvement in this ordeal and a keen-eared listener rats them out to the cops.

What makes this even more unsettling is the recent revelation that the man believed to be involved in Nancy’s abduction may have been at her home weeks before she vanished. Authorities have obtained a still image of the presumed kidnapper, but it has not led to any meaningful breakthroughs… yet. And without a clear timestamp, investigators are left piecing together fragments of a timeline that refuses to fully form.

As we’ve been reporting, Nancy’s home security subscription through Nest did not include video archiving with time stamps. The images and clips were ultimately obtained through Google, but crucial metadata that might have pinpointed the exact date is missing. Investigators believe the man could have shown up as early as January 11 — weeks before the February 1 abduction — but they cannot say for certain. And that uncertainty is haunting.

Plus, despite sweeping the surrounding area for surveillance footage of suspicious vehicles or individuals, authorities have ultimately come up empty-handed. Neither the still photo nor any video captured on February 1 has helped identify a getaway car or positively confirm the suspect’s identity.

Meanwhile, the Guthrie family is facing an unthinkable reality. They’ve announced a staggering $1 million reward for information leading to Nancy’s return, adding to the FBI’s previous $100,000 offer. And in a recent heartbreaking video message, TODAY host Savannah Guthrie acknowledged what no daughter should ever have to say aloud — that it would take a miracle for her mother to still be alive.

Interestingly, to that end, TMZ‘s sources insist investigators never specifically told the family that Nancy’s chances of survival were slim, but that the painful conclusion was one the family arrived at on their own. Ugh. We honestly can’t even imagine.

For now, the waiting and not knowing continues. And the longer the silence stretches on, the heavier it becomes.

Savannah Guthrie and her family are offering up to $1 million for information that leads to the recovery of Nancy Guthrie. NOTE: The family reward of up to $1 million will be paid only for recovery of Nancy Guthrie, consistent with FBI criteria for payment of its reward in this case: https://www.fbi.gov/wanted/kidnap/nancy-guthrie

  • Savannah Guthrie’s Future At The Today Show Revealed Amid Ongoing Investigation Into Nancy Guthrie’s Disappearance – Perez Hilton

    [ad_1]

As the desperate search for her mother stretches into its third heartbreaking week, Savannah Guthrie will remain off the Today show for what insiders are calling the “foreseeable future.” And honestly, how could it be any other way?

The veteran journalist, who has co-anchored the NBC morning staple since 2012, is still in Tucson as authorities continue their urgent hunt for her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie. Fifteen days have now passed since Nancy was last seen, and with each passing hour, the worry only deepens.

Related: Nancy Guthrie SWAT Move Yields No Arrests, Sheriff Says It Could Take ‘Years’ To Find Her

As speculation inevitably swirled about what this absence might mean for Savannah’s future at the network — particularly with her lucrative contract reportedly nearing its renewal window — those close to the situation say such talk feels painfully misplaced.

To that end, an insider at NBC made it clear that right now, ratings and renewals are the furthest things from anyone’s mind. They told Page Six on Sunday:

“The entire show and network is rallying together in support of our beloved colleague and friend as we navigate this unimaginable time.”

That sentiment is apparently shared across the entire staff. Production teams, anchors, executives — all of them are said to be focused on one thing: giving Savannah the space to be a daughter first.

    The source said:

“Everyone at Today is taking this day by day, and of course giving Savannah the grace, time and support she needs.”

Behind the scenes, there is also a quiet vigil happening. Staffers are reportedly praying constantly for answers, for closure, for some break in a case that has grown more chilling by the day.

In the meantime, former co-anchor Hoda Kotb has stepped back into the anchor seat this week. She has also thus far remained stateside rather than traveling to Milan to assist with coverage of the Winter Olympics, as did Savannah’s current co-anchor Craig Melvin.

But for now, the question of contracts and careers feels almost trivial. What matters is a family in crisis, a daughter waiting for answers, and a network standing behind one of its own during an unimaginable time.

The FBI has offered a $100,000 reward for information leading to the recovery of Nancy Guthrie, and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance. Authorities have encouraged anyone with information or tips to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI, 88-CRIME or tips.fbi.gov. • Savannah Guthrie tells mother’s possible kidnapper ‘we will pay’ in new video

    [ad_1]

“TODAY” co-anchor Savannah Guthrie addressed her mother’s possible kidnapper in a new Instagram video Saturday, saying the family would “pay” for the 84-year-old woman’s safe return.

“We received your message and we understand,” Savannah Guthrie said, seated alongside her brother, Camron, and sister, Annie. “We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace.”

“This is very valuable to us, and we will pay,” Savannah Guthrie said in closing, clutching her siblings’ hands.

Guthrie’s video message did not provide specifics about the message she referenced.

At least three news outlets have received a possible ransom note, and it is not clear if she was referencing those notes or another communication. NBC News has reviewed a copy of the note. No law enforcement agency has so far substantiated the note.

The FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department said Friday they were aware of a new message regarding Guthrie, which investigators were inspecting for authenticity. It is not known whether this message was connected to the initial unverified note or sender.

Nancy Guthrie was reported missing from her home north of Tuscson, Arizona, around noon Sunday after she did not show up at church. She was last seen the night before around 9:45 p.m. after having dinner at Annie Guthrie’s home.

The sheriff’s department believes Guthrie was taken “possibly in the middle of the night, and that includes possible kidnapping or abduction.” State and federal law enforcement officials are involved in the investigation, including the FBI.

In a statement Wednesday, the sheriff’s department said investigators have not identified a suspect or a person of interest. Authorities previously said they have no credible information that Guthrie’s possible abduction was a targeted incident.

Investigators believe Guthrie is “still out there” and remain committed to bringing her home safely.

Attorney General Pam Bondi said Friday that the Justice Department is working with local law enforcement to locate the mother of “TODAY” show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie and asked the public to pray for her safe return.

The FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department said Friday they were aware of a new message regarding Guthrie, which investigators were inspecting for authenticity. It is not known whether this message was connected to the initial unverified note or sender.

Two notes were sent to local TV station KOLD. The station’s news director, Jessica Bobula, told NBC News on Saturday that the first message came in to their news tips system on Monday and the second just before noon Friday.

She said neither note provided proof of life, but the first note said Guthrie was fine.

The second note “was certainly not a ransom demand,” Bobula said, noting it did not ask for money, and it differed “in almost every way” from the first. One of the notes did not provide an image of Guthrie but “a description,” she said.

Bobula said the author of the second note appeared to be trying to prove that they were the same sender as the first note.

“There is something in the note that we believe they are trying to use to make sure the investigators know that it is the same people,” Bobula said. “It seems as though they are trying to indicate only the sender of the previous email would know this detail.”

The first note included two deadlines, one for 5 p.m. last Thursday and another for 5 p.m. Monday, and a request for funds.

Asked if the note indicated what might happen if the Monday deadline is missed she said, “They did.” When asked if the note indicated Guthrie could be harmed in some way, Bobula said, “Yes.”

Both notes were sent to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, along with the IP information, she said.

  • Why the Lindbergh Baby Kidnapping Case Still Haunts After Nearly 100 Years

    [ad_1]

Some 2.8 million people tune into TODAY, NBC’s flagship morning show, every day, and for many, hearing about the latest news updates, affordable fashion trends, upcoming movies, and whatever other hot topics is a longstanding part of their daily routine, and co-anchor Savannah Guthrie isn’t just a newscaster, she’s a familiar presence, something of a friend.

Guthrie, an apple-cheeked 54-year-old who has worked for NBC since 2007 and at TODAY since 2011, is just as likely to appear at the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting or the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade as she is to interview Donald Trump, as she did for a town hall ahead of the 2020 election that won her an Emmy.

When her mother, Nancy Guthrie, was reportedly abducted in Tucson, Arizona last week, a global audience took notice.

Amid the scary details and the apparent ransom notes, there are echoes of another frenzied search that captivated the public nearly a century ago: the 1932 kidnapping of 20-month-old Charles Lindbergh Jr.

Like the Guthrie case, the Lindbergh story was a desperate search for the vulnerable family member of an American household name, front and center in the public consciousness, and a crime that riveted a country.

Charles Lindbergh Jr. disappeared from his crib in Hopewell, New Jersey, on the night of March 1, 1932. His parents, nanny, and several other staff were in the house, and the boy’s bedroom was on the second floor. The crime immediately drew attention because of the baby’s parents: his mother, Anne Morrow Lindbergh, was the first woman to earn a glider pilot license, and was a socialite, the daughter of the U.S. ambassador to Mexico, and a writer. His father, Charles Lindbergh, was one of the most famous people in the world thanks to his 1927 flight from New York to Paris, the first successful solo transatlantic one in history. The morning after his disappearance, the New York Times rushed to remake the paper’s front page, topping four columns in the lead story slot on March 2 with the headline “LINDBERGH BABY KIDNAPPED FROM HOME OF PARENTS ON FARM NEAR PRINCETON; TAKEN FROM HIS CRIB; WIDE SEARCH ON.”

The attention was relentless, and especially bruising for someone like Lindbergh, a Midwesterner by birth who begged for privacy after his Spirit of St. Louis notoriety: For weeks, a garage at Pop Gebhart’s general store, near the Lindbergh house, was the ad hoc headquarters for the hundreds of reporters who flocked to the scene. Tourists gawked at the house. Thousands of Princeton undergraduates took it upon themselves to search the nearby woods, despite official concerns about contaminating potential evidence. An estimated 100,000 total people, official and private, participated in the search in the first 24 hours after the news broke. President Herbert Hoover offered the investigation support from the Secret Service, FBI, the IRS, the US Postal Service, and more. Awareness of the case was such that anyone seen with a small blonde child was looked at twice.

  • ‘TODAY’ co-anchor Savannah Guthrie and family make tearful plea for mother’s return

    [ad_1]

In a tearful video posted Wednesday on Instagram, “TODAY” co-anchor Savannah Guthrie pleaded for more information from her 84-year-old mother’s possible kidnapper, saying her family is “ready to talk.”

Savannah Guthrie — reading from prepared remarks, speaking directly to a camera and seated alongside her two siblings — said her family was aware of reports about a ransom letter sent to at least two media outlets. “We are doing everything we can,” she said.

“However,” she added, “we live in a world where voices and images are easily manipulated. We need to know, without a doubt, that she is alive and that you have her. We want to hear from you, and we are ready to listen. Please reach out to us.”

In the Instagram video, Savannah Guthrie — flanked by her sister, Annie, and her brother, Camron — thanked the public for “the prayers for our beloved mom,” Nancy Guthrie, adding: “We feel them, and we continue to believe that she feels them, too.”

She described her mother as a “kind, faithful, loyal, fiercely loving woman of goodness and light,” a person who is “funny, spunky and clever.”

“She has grandchildren that adore her and crowd around her and cover her with kisses,” she said. “She loves fun and adventure. She is a devoted friend. She is full of kindness and knowledge. Talk to her, and you’ll see.”

Savannah Guthrie said her mother’s health and heart are fragile. “She lives in constant pain. She is without any medicine. She needs it to survive, and she needs it not to suffer.”

In the closing seconds of the video, Savannah Guthrie anchor spoke directly to her mother: “Mommy, if you are hearing this, you are a strong woman, you are God’s precious daughter Nancy.”

Nancy Guthrie was reported missing from her home outside Tucson, Arizona, on Sunday afternoon after she did not show up at church. She was last seen around 9:45 p.m. the previous night, when family members dropped her off at her home.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department believes Guthrie was taken “possibly in the middle of the night, and that includes possible kidnapping or abduction.” State and federal law enforcement officials are involved in the investigation, including the FBI.

In a statement Wednesday, the sheriff’s department said investigators have not identified a suspect or a person of interest. Authorities previously said they have no credible information that Guthrie’s possible abduction was a targeted incident.

Authorities investigating Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance returned to her Arizona home Wednesday afternoon. The driveway to the property outside Tucson was blocked by a black, unmarked vehicle.

A sheriff’s spokesman said in a statement that “detectives are continuing to conduct follow-up at the home and in the neighborhood.”

President Donald Trump said he would commit to send more resources to help. Trump called Savannah Guthrie on Wednesday after his interview with NBC News’ Tom Llamas, offering words of support for her and her family.

“I spoke with Savannah Guthrie, and let her know that I am directing ALL Federal Law Enforcement to be at the family’s, and Local Law Enforcement’s, complete disposal, IMMEDIATELY,” Trump said Wednesday night on Truth Social

“We are deploying all resources to get her mother home safely,” he added. “The prayers of our Nation are with her and her family. GOD BLESS AND PROTECT NANCY!”

The man in charge of the FBI’s role in the investigation was at the Guthrie family home Wednesday night, according to two people briefed on the events. That’s where the video released by the family was believed to have been recorded, the two people said.

Two senior officials briefed on the investigation told NBC News earlier Wednesday that investigators are probing what appears to be blood found outside Guthrie’s home. The officials said Guthrie’s pacemaker appears to have disconnected from its monitoring app early Sunday.

Guthrie has limited mobility, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told reporters Monday. He said that she has no cognitive issues and that her disappearance was not linked to dementia, describing her as “sharp as a tack.”

“We have nothing else to go on but the belief that she is here, she’s present, she’s alive, and we want to save her,” Nanos said.

Guthrie has appeared on “TODAY” over the years, endearing herself to anchors and viewers alike. Savannah Guthrie credits her mother with inspiring her religious beliefs.

“The greatest gift my mother gave me was faith and belief in God. It changed my life,” Savannah Guthrie said on a May 2023 episode of “TODAY.”

TODAY Show anchor Savannah Guthrie and her siblings posted a video late Wednesday, pleading for more information from the person who possibly kidnapped their 84-year-old mother.

  • Savannah Guthrie’s mom Nancy believed to have been taken ‘against her will’ following disturbing update

    [ad_1]

Authorities have shared new details surrounding the disappearance of Today anchor Savannah Guthrie‘s mother, Nancy Guthrie, who was first reported missing by her family on Sunday, February 1, after she failed to attend her local church service.

She was last seen on the night of January 31 in Tucson, Arizona, where she resides in a $1 million Catalina Foothills home. Pima County sheriff Chris Nanos shared an update on the ongoing situation with the Daily Mail, explaining that Nancy likely left her home “against her will”.

“She did not walk away,” he told the publication. “We believe she was forced to leave that residence. It was against her will.”

Savannah’s 84-year-old mother was reported missing on Sunday

“This was, in our opinion, someone entered her home in the middle of the night and removed her. It could be more than one person, we don’t know that yet,” he continued.

“This is about an 84-year-old woman who is sick, who needs her medications, who, in the middle of the night, was taken from her bedroom. If she is alive, she needs her medication and it’s been well over 24 hours. That in itself could be fatal, and that’s scary.”

The sheriff didn’t rule out an abduction, sharing that her mobility issues would’ve prevented her from leaving of her own accord. “We know she could not walk out of that house. Talking to her doctors, we know she had some physical elements that definitely limited her,” he said.

Authorities believe she was taken “against her will”

“She is very sharp-witted, of good mind, suffers nothing in the form of any kind of dementia or Alzheimer’s – nothing. So we know she would know what was going on around here.”

Despite Nancy’s home being close to the Mexican border, authorities appear to have ruled out the location’s connection to her disappearance. “There’s nothing to indicate cartel or border issues. Nothing like that.” The lights inside Nancy’s home were on when authorities arrived at the scene, and her phone, wallet and car were still there. The door was unlocked, as per the Daily Mail, yet there were signs of forced entry.

Nancy’s neighbor spoke to The Arizona Republic and revealed the extent of the search for the grandmother, which has seen police driving through the streets asking people for access to their security cameras, looking through neighbors’ backyards, and flying a search-and-rescue helicopter over the town.

Neighbors are rallying to help by starting volunteer search parties

Another neighbour of Nancy’s, Jeff Lamie, told the publication that her disappearance was unusual for the area. “It’s a very quiet neighborhood, it’s a very safe neighborhood. This is highly unusual, and we are very concerned about her,” he said. Jeff added that there had been a “high response” to the incident, with neighbors rallying into volunteer rescue groups and combing through the surrounding area for clues as to her whereabouts.

Sheriff Nanos previously announced at a press conference on Monday that Nancy’s disappearance was being investigated as a crime, and that authorities were “very concerned” for her well-being. Savannah, who is one of Nancy’s three children, was not at the Today studio on Monday and instead shared a statement on the incident via her coworkers.

“I want to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers, and messages of support,” she said. “Right now, our focus remains on the safe return of our dear mom. We thank law enforcement for their hard work on this case and encourage anyone, anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s office at 520-351-4900.”

  • Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones pick a side in Beckham family feud: ‘Not nice’

    [ad_1]

Jenna Bush Hager and her co-host, Sheinelle Jones, have weighed in on the dramatic family feud between Brooklyn Beckham and his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, which reached an explosive turning point on Monday when the 26-year-old released a statement on their rift.

Brooklyn took to Instagram to share a lengthy statement in which he claimed his parents were controlling and “consistently disrespected” his wife, Nicola Peltz.

On Tuesday’s episode of Today with Jenna & Sheinelle, the pair shared their thoughts on the drama that has captured the internet, revealing that they stood firmly with David and Victoria. “Yesterday afternoon in a six-page Instagram story post, [Brooklyn] wrote in part, ‘I do not want to reconcile with my family,’” Jenna began.

“I’m almost nice to a fault,” her co-star chimed in. “But in this case, I actually feel like it’s not nice of [Brooklyn]. I don’t know what’s happening behind the scenes.”

“I don’t care if it’s true or not. But at the end of the day, to put your parents’ laundry out therewe don’t need to know whatever’s happening.”

“You are where you are because of the work that they’ve done. Maybe I’m speaking as a mom,” Sheinelle continued, adding that Victoria was “doing the best [she] can.” Jenna agreed, explaining that she took issue with him airing out his parents’ dirty laundry online. “That’s the part that feels sort of hypocritical,” she said, adding that David and Victoria must be “heartbroken”.

Sheinelle shared that she was “Team Mom” in the debate

“Whether it’s true or not, it’s just…do we need to know about it?” Sheinelle queried. “In the 26 years I’ve been in this business, I don’t think I’ve ever given an opinion, and this is the first time where I’m like, ‘I’m Team Mom.’ I have a soft spot for parents because it’s not easy.”

Brooklyn’s incendiary comments come almost a year after speculation of a family feud was sparked, with fans noticing his absence from family photos and events. In his statement, the eldest Beckham son cited several examples of why his relationship with David and Victoria had crumbled, including multiple incidents from his wedding to Nicola in 2022.

“I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family,” he wrote.

“My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped,” he continued. “My mom cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress.”

He shared the explosive post to Instagram on Monday

He added that Victoria “hijacked” his first dance with Nicola by stepping in for the special moment, and claimed that she “danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone”. The Beckham camp has yet to comment on the  statement, which also accused them of being obsessed with their public image, yet their youngest son, Cruz, was the first to return to social media after the post.

In his Instagram stories, the 20-year-old shared some behind-the-scenes moments from a session with his band in a studio. While the clip did not contain a caption or a comment on the family feud, it marked a brush-off of Brooklyn’s statement.

  • Jenna Bush Hager looks phenomenal in figure-hugging dress with thigh-high slit

    [ad_1]

Jenna Bush Hager has been receiving many compliments for her style choices of late, and it’s easy to see why!

On Friday January 16, the star featured in a montage showcasing her daily outfits on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle, which consisted of short clips of her walking out of the lift in a different look from each morning of the show.

One outfit stood out in particular – a peach colored figure-hugging floor length dress, featuring a thigh-high slit and draped neckline.

The colorful design was teamed with pink stilettos. Jenna wore the dress on the show, and later as she visited former co-host Hoda Kotb at SiriusXM, along with Sheinelle Jones

Jenna always looks fantastic on the show, and previously revealed that she is her own stylist. She told InStyle in February 2024: “It’s hilarious because sometimes people will say, ‘Fire your stylists’. I think people think because we work on television that I have a stylist and I have to say, ‘I would be firing myself.’ Or if they’re like, ‘We love your look. Can you send us where you got it from? Can you ask your stylist?’”

Jenna – a busy working mom-of-three – also confessed that her outfits are often planned “last minute” and that she is also a huge fan of Rent the Runway.

“I definitely lay out clothes that I haven’t worn or that I want to wear over the couple weeks and then I kind of play within it,” she said. “But I am not one who puts a ton of thought into it. And sometimes in fact, they’re like, ’10 minutes to air,’ and I’m still wearing my jeans and T-shirt that I came in.

“And I feel like that is reflective in my style that I want things to look effortless, because typically they are. I feel like if I want look to put together, which happens if I’m on Ellen or something like that that feels special, I’ll really think about my outfit. I’ll ask my sister for advice. I have friends that are designers and I’ll borrow things. And then sometimes I look at myself and I’m like, ‘Who is she?’ And I feel like the mornings when I have put things together quickly and feel like myself are the mornings I feel best.”

It’s been an eventful week for Jenna – who has not only had her first week with her new permanent co-host, Sheinelle – but she also revealed revealed on January 13th’s show that she will be an executive producer on the pilot Protection, which has been greenlit by NBC’s Universal Television.

Jenna will work alongside Joshua Safran, who wrote and created the show Quantico, as well as acted as an EP on the shows Gossip Girl, Smash, and the short-lived 2021 Gossip Girl reboot. “NBC called us yesterday, we’ve been working on this for a while,” she explained.

“Who knew I would do something like this, ladies and gentlemen?” She went on to explain that she show is about “different levels of law enforcement,” and is keen to pull from her own experience as the daughter of the President of the United States and being surrounded constantly by the secret service.

Jenna started officially hosting with Sheinelle on Monday January 12

“Y’all know I know about that,” she joked. “It’s a mystery, and I joined all the pitches.” She noted that she found joy in seeing the “jaws drop” of the producers in the room when they heard the show’s big twist, which she immediately branded “so good!”

  • TV Anchors who could be next to face the chop after Hoda Kotb’s surprising departure

TV Anchors who could be next to face the chop after Hoda Kotb’s surprising departure

    [ad_1]

Hoda Kotb’s shock announcement that she will be leaving Today after 17 years on the morning show has shone a light on the future of many of our favorite TV anchors, who are facing a critical time in their careers.

As TV networks tighten their belts thanks to economic issues and low ratings, high-profile stars will see changes not only to their contracts but to their shows on the whole.

Hoda wrote in a letter to staff on the show that she knew she was “making the right decision” to step away from Today, albeit a “painful one”.

Hoda Kotb’s decision to leave Today has her co-hosts in tears

“They say two things can be right at the same time, and I’m feeling that so deeply right now. I love you, and it’s time for me to leave the show,” she said in the letter.

She continued, “My broadcast career has been beyond meaningful; a new decade of my life lies ahead, and now my daughters and my mom need and deserve a bigger slice of my time pie. I will miss you all desperately, but I’m ready and excited.”

She will leave the show early next year, but co-host Savannah Guthrie remains as her contract will last another year.

Another anchor with an uncertain future is MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, who reportedly makes a whopping $30 million a year, although her contract is under review.

Rachel is a major drawcard for the network and has hosted her own show since 2008, but her $600,000 per episode salary may be cut next year.

“We have had a tremendous shake-up in how TV is delivered and received, and the business is going through a major struggle trying to retain and grow revenues,” Joe Peyronnin, a former television news executive, told the Wall Street Journal.

Late-night talk shows are being slashed from five to four nights a week as the networks scramble to keep up with the changing television landscape.

ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, CBS’s The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and NBC’s Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon will no longer produce an episode each Friday.

While Jimmy Fallon is safe until 2028, with his contract extended until then, and Stephen signed on until 2026, Jimmy Kimmel told the LA Times that he may not re-sign after his contract ends in 2025.

Jimmy Fallon’s contract is locked in until 2028

CBS already axed The Late Late Show with James Corden in 2023 after eight years on air.

According to Forbes, this speaks to a broader trend of cable and broadcast TV versus streaming; only 57% of households now subscribe to cable television, and only three networks averaged over one million viewers during prime time compared to 19 in 2013. Only 30% of US adults use an antenna for broadcast TV.

The beloved Good Morning America could see hosts George Stephanopoulos and Robin Roberts’s contracts in limbo after they end next year; they both currently make $25 million, but after Disney, who owns the ABC network, told the show to cut costs by $19 million, their future hangs in the balance.

Over on CBS, Evening News star Norah O’Donnell was dealt a 50% pay cut by the network after her ratings had dropped by 25%, and she faces the chopping board after Paramount also deals with wide-scale layoffs to cut costs.

Clearly, the future of broadcast and cable TV is up in the air, and with it are the slew of beloved anchors sitting at the helm of some of television’s biggest shows.

‘Today Show”s Dylan Dreyer shares who could replace Hoda Kotb

    [ad_1]

Shortly after longtime host Hoda Kotb tearfully announced on Sept. 26 that she will be stepping away from her co-anchor duties, her “Third Hour of Today” colleague Dreyer had some insight on who might replace the person she called the “heart and soul of ‘The Today Show.’”

And according to Dreyer, “Today” is “such a family” that she believes any of the team members — who include Craig Melvin, Sheinelle Jones, Jenna Bush Hager, Carson Daly and “Weekend Today” coanchors Peter Alexander and Laura Jarrett — have the talent to take over alongside co-anchor Savannah Guthrie.

“I don’t think if they named anyone in our core group of people it would be surprising,” Dreyer exclusively told E! News cohost Keltie Knight at the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards on Sept. 26. “We’ve all filled in along the way when somebody’s out. I don’t know if anybody’s made any decisions yet, but if it’s one of the core group, I really don’t think it’s that surprising.”

As for whether she’s eyeing the role, the weather forecasater quipped, “Everybody knows I’m trying to get Al Roker to retire, let’s be honest.”

But the news of Kotb’s departure, on the other hand, came as a surprise.

I knew about 10 minutes before the show started,” Dreyer said. “Which, I think, is when everybody kind of found out.”

But despite the unexpected news, several members of “The Today Show” were on hand to support Kotb — who is mom to daughters, Haley, 7, and Hope, 5 — as she delivered the update on air.

Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager recently celebrated the fifth anniversary of “TODAY with Hoda and Jenna” with a Bermuda bash at The Loren at Pink Beach.

“I realized that it was time for me to turn the page at 60, and to try something new,” Kotb said through tears. “I remembered standing outside looking at these beautiful bunch of people with these gorgeous signs, and I thought, ‘This is what the top of the wave feels like for me.’ And I thought it can’t get better, and I decided that this is the right time for me to kind of move on.”

She went on to share that she plans to focus more on her family.

“Obviously I had my kiddos late in life, and I was thinking that they deserve a bigger piece of my time pie that I have,” she continued. “I feel like we only have a finite amount of time. And so, with all that being said, this is the hardest thing in the world.”

Today’s Sheinelle Jones commemorates special day with unseen baby photos

    [ad_1]

Sheinelle Jones is a proud mom as her son Kayin turned 15, a moment she commemorated with an emotional post on Instagram.

The mom-of-three took to the photo-sharing app to celebrate the day with previously unseen photos of the mother-son duo together, with an especially adorable baby picture. In the snap,  Sheinelle held her newborn baby, looking away from the camera as all her attention rested on him.

She then shared a selfie of them together in which the resemblance was undeniable as they smiled brightly. In a third photo, Sheinelle and Kayin smiled by the beach, as she held her son tightly. Sheinelle shared photos that showed her son’s growth up until his recent graduation, as he’s soon to start high school.

The family resemblance between Sheinelle and her son is undeniable

The veteran anchor captioned the photo: “15 years ago today … my heart expanded with so much love – I can’t even describe it.”

She added, in reference to the Celine Dion cover of “Beautiful Boy” which soundtracked the photo carousel: “I love you Kayin!!! I used to play this song when you were a baby…now – you’re heading to high school! Goodness time is flying … HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!”

“You were this giant light ready to soak up everything they could teach you,” she added. “All of these years later, your love for learning continues, but more importantly your love for people, and passion for squeezing the *most* out of your experiences – from music to sports.”

Sheinelle shared a photo of her son speaking at the podium, as if to show he’d played an extra special role in the ceremony. She said: “When you stepped up to the podium with that smile, my heart was filled with so much gratitude for the young man that you are, and the man you are becoming.”

Sheinelle shares three children with her husband Uche Ojeh: Kayin, and her twins Clara and Uche. While she tends to keep them out of the spotlight, she described parenting them when they were younger as “chaotic.”

“And I would be lying to you if I said that it wasn’t,” Sheinelle told People in 2017. “One four year old alone can be a tornado, so I have two of them. And then they have a big brother who is seven.”

The 3rd Hour host brought in her kids to work in April 2023 for the show’s “Bring A Kid To Work Day”. It was the first time they saw her do the show in the studio, of which she said: “I think it was good for them to see what mommy does every morning. I used to love going to work with my mom … I hope they look back on this day fondly too.”

  • Scarlett Johansson Gets Surprise Welcome to ‘Jurassic World’ From Franchise Favorite

Scarlett Johansson Gets Surprise Welcome to ‘Jurassic World’ From Franchise Favorite

    [ad_1]

As Scarlett Johansson begins filming the latest installment of Universal’s enduring dino-centric action-adventure, she received a warm welcome to Jurassic World from franchise veteran Jeff Goldblum.

Johansson, who recently outed herself as a “huge nerd” for all things Jurassic Park and Jurassic World appeared on NBC’s Today on Tuesday morning to promote her new romantic comedy, Fly Me to the Moon. As the interview with host Savannah Guthrie concluded, the Avengers star was informed that “somebody wanted to welcome you aboard to the team.”

Johansson appeared slightly perplexed but that quickly turned to a delightful smile when a video of Goldblum was played on air.

“Dr Johansson, this is Jeff Goldblum,” the veteran actor, donning his trademark glasses and a dinosaur sweater, says to the camera. “Here’s what I want to say to you. This I know: Scarlett will find a way. Don’t get eaten, unless you want to. I love you.”

Goldblum’s reference here is to the classic line, “Life finds a way,” which he delivered in 1993’s franchise launching Jurassic Park. In the beloved blockbuster, Goldblum portrays Dr. Ian Malcolm, a mathematician who along with a paleontologist and paleobotanist, finds himself fleeing cloned dinosaurs as they run amok at a new amusement park on a remote Central American island. The Ian character became iconic for both Goldblum and the franchise; he repeated the role in The Lost World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

Johansson, seemingly stunned by the personal video from a star of one of her favorite films, gushes, “I mean, I think my life is complete. It’s done. Yes… done. I can retire. Oh my gosh!” The actor also politely corrected Guthrie’s misstatement of the line when she recalled it as “water finds a way.”

In a recent interview with Comicbook.com, Johansson said that it’s been a decade-long struggle to get into the Jurassic franchise, which after three Jurassic Park films in the 1990s, was rebooted in 2015 with Jurassic World, set 22 years after the first trilogy concluded. The movie took in $1.6 billion globally and spawned franchise entries Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) and Jurassic World Dominion (2022). The Johansson-led fourth entry into the franchise is scheduled for 2025.

On Today, Johansson recalled that Jurassic Park was her first theater-going movie experience as a child.

“I was probably 10 or 11, and it was absolutely transformative for me,” she said. “The experience was — we had never seen anything like that, CGI used in that way. And when you see it, it still holds up. I mean, it looks so great. It’s like magic. … The actors were so amazing: Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum. And it had so much heart.”

Filmmaker Gareth Edwards (Rogue One) is directing the upcoming Jurassic World entry. In addition to casting Johansson in the lead role, it will star Jonathan Bailey, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Rupert Friend, Mahershala Ali, Luna Blaise, David Iacono and newcomer Audrina Miranda. Screenwriter David Koepp, who scripted Jurassic Park and its sequel, The Lost World, has returned to write this installment.

Kelly Rowland Reportedly Storms Out ‘Today’ Show Hosting Gig After Dressing Room Drama, J.Lo Had The One She Wanted | The YBF

    [ad_1]

Well we didn’t see this coming. Kelly Rowland is apparently fed ALL the way up with subpar treatment on sets, and she’s willing to walk out of major gigs over it.

Page Six reports that the Mea Culpa star was set to join “The Today Show” hosts as a co-host of the fourth hour of “The Today Show” on Friday alongside Hoda Kotb, and after appearing in the first hour of the morning show as a guest. But Kelly allegedly stormed off the set right before the fourth hour and left Hoda scrambling!

Apparently, Kelly was livid about the subpar dressing rooms, and her team was in a flurry going from location to location inside 30 Rock trying to find something better for her. Word has it that none of the rooms are all that great, and the one room that likely would have worked – Jennifer Lopez was occupying. Hmph. J.Lo was on “Today” promoting her newly released This Is Me…Now album and accompanying Prime documentary.

Kelly, who celebrated her new movie the previous night with her Destiny’s Child besties, was def carrying the spirit of Taraji P. Henson and not putting up with what she viewed as mistreatment any longer. And she left the NBC crew to figure ish out in minutes without her!

    Page Six reports:

Kelly Rowland dramatically walked out of NBC’s “Today” show on Thursday morning after the star thought her dressing room was not up to snuff, sources exclusively tell Page Six.

The R&B singer and actress was a guest on the 8a.m. hour of “Today,” and was then expected to fill in for Jenna Bush Hager in the fourth hour as guest host of “Today with Hoda & Jenna.”

Rowland, however, dropped out at the 11th hour because her dressing room wasn’t up to par, and she left Hoda Kotb scurrying to find a replacement, sources told us.

Kelly appearing at the top of “The Today Show” on Friday, before allegedly storming off the set

Apparently, it was a dramatic scene that followed:

Rowland and her team played a dramatic game of “musical dressing rooms,” we hear.
They inquired about a green room upstairs because “they didn’t like the one she was in.”

Unfortunately, the upstairs room was occupied by Jennifer Lopez, who arrived to the studio prior to Rowland to promote her new album, “This Is Me… Now,” and her accompanying film project, “The Greatest Love Story Never Told.”

The dressing room situation seems to be a known issue at 30 Rock:

Dressing rooms at “Today” are known to be some of the smallest in the TV industry — practically “glorified closets,” as one source put it.

“They’re not nice. It’s the oldest building. There are major space limitations, [it’s] not glamorous. It’s not fresh flowers, and candles and gourmet food. It’s basically [a] white box,” shared the TV source.

Still, we’re told “Today” producers offered Rowland several other options, including multiple talent dressing rooms and some much larger utility makeup and hair areas.

But the NBC staffers are still confused as to why Kelly didn’t seem to want to make things work:

Rowland’s abrupt exit left “Today” insiders perplexed because, “She’s beloved at ‘Today.’ She was getting the full hour, and Hoda’s the biggest hype woman on the planet! It made no sense,” a source said.

Hoda wasn’t left stranded for too long, though. Some type of way Rita Ora was able to step in last minute.

Thankfully for Kotb, singer Rita Ora volunteered and filled in for Rowland.

We hear she happily took a dressing room similar to the one briefly occupied by the former Destiny’s Child star.

    We’re sure she did….

Kelly’s new movie Mea Culpa, created by Tyler Perry, is out Friday, February 23rd on Netflix.

Haley Lu Richardson Gushes Over Dream Gig Covering The Jonas Brothers

    [ad_1]

Haley Lu Richardson went to the “year 3000” and back as she gushed over the Jonas Brothers while serving as the Jo Bros’ correspondent during their “Today” show concert on Friday.

“The White Lotus” star, who appeared in the band’s music video for their song “Wings” earlier this year, covered the Jonas Brothers’ performance on the release date of their new project “The Album.”

“I love you Kevin, I love you Nick, I love you Joe,” said Richardson as the band walked by her prior to their show.

She added: “They love me, too, they said it. Did you hear?”

Richardson, prior to the show, said her job entailed being “functional,” not crying and not peeing her pants.

“Wish me luck,” she said on Thursday.

Richardson, in an interview with People, opened up about being a massive fan of the group. She referred to meeting the Jonas Brothers at age 12 as a “dream come true” and joked that she wished she could be a “sister wife” to the brothers, who are all married.

The actor, at one point during her “Today” show gig, acknowledged that she hadn’t quite listened to the Jonas Brothers’ latest effort but showed her appreciation for the singles “Wings” along with “Waffle House,” according to Entertainment Weekly.

She went on to soak in the moment, claiming that Kevin Jonas winked at her through his sunglasses on Friday.

“This is absolutely nuts on a stick because they’re right there. They’re here and I was standing right there,” Richardson said.

Richardson also smiled ear-to-ear at one point as she praised the band for their “11 out of 10s” performance.

“Wow, you’re really like without words,” noted “Today” anchor Dylan Dreyer.

“Oh yeah. Did I say words? Yes,” replied Richardson before joining Dreyer to surprise a “superfan” with tickets to the Jonas Brothers tour.

For the 2017 year, JamieGeller.com reported a 61 percent increase in users to the popular recipe site with more than half of the 2.5 million users being brand new visitors. The website, with over 8,000 recipes from Jamie Geller and contributors, derives most of its traffic through organic search where users are looking for kosher versions of popular favorites. Total page views increased 31 percent.

It is an exciting time to be the leader in the kosher community. With kosher and other specialty diets taking the spotlight in mainstream media, it has been fun sharing our recipes and content with new followers.
