    On the occasion of Republic Day, the film Border 2 has gained tremendous momentum at the box office. The film stars Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, and Sunny Deol in lead roles. The film has collected Rs 121 crore on the first three days of its release. Due to the holiday of January 26, a huge crowd was seen in the theaters on the fourth day, which is Monday, due to which the film’s earnings are expected to be faster.

    Border 2 Box Office Collection Day 4

    According to early figures, Border 2 has earned around Rs. 4.37 crore by noon on the fourth day. These figures are still incomplete, and there is a possibility of a big jump after the evening and night shows. Trade experts believe that due to the Republic Day holiday, patriotic theme, and positive word of mouth, the film can make great collections on Monday. The number of audience in theatres is also increasing.

    Border 2 advance booking collection

    The advance booking of the film is also giving clear indications of it becoming a blockbuster. By 11pm on January 25, Border 2 had made an advance booking of around Rs 27.05 crore for just the fourth day. A total of 8.72 lakh tickets were sold across 15,800 shows. Big multiplex chains like PVR, INOX and Cinepolis saw huge demand for the film, with PVR leading the pack.

    The film has received a good response in Maharashtra and Delhi-NCR. In Maharashtra, advance booking of around Rs 6.47 crore was done from around 4,000 shows, while in Delhi-NCR, tickets worth around Rs 6.34 crore were already sold from 2,100 shows. With no big release in Bollywood at the moment, Border 2 is getting an open field at the box office, which it is getting the full benefit of.

    Will Border 2 pass the Monday test?

    All eyes are now on whether Border 2 will be able to break the post-COVID Monday record of Salman Khan’s Tiger 3. Tiger 3 had earned Rs 59.25 crore on Monday. Trade experts believe that Border may reach close to Rs 50 crore, which will make it among the biggest Monday grossers of the post-COVID era.

    Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 is off to a great start at the box office. The film stars Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, and Sunny Deol. It received a good response on its first day and did well on its second day too. The patriotic film has garnered good crowds at the theatres, making it one of the big films of the year 2026.

    According to the latest data by Sacnilk, Border 2 collected Rs 35 crore on the second day of its release. The film collected Rs 30 crore on its first day. With this, the total collection of the film in two days has reached Rs 65 crore. These figures clearly show that the film is getting strong support from the audience, and its earnings are expected to increase further in the coming days.

    Border 2 day 2 theatre occupancy

    On the second day, the film’s Hindi occupancy total was 41.58%. While the morning show saw 15.51 per cent viewership, the afternoon show saw 39.97 per cent viewership. The occupancy in the evening reached 49.13 per cent, while the night shows saw the highest audience of 61.70 per cent. It is clear that as the day progressed, the number of viewers also increased, and the film is likely to get more benefit on the weekend.

    Border 2 beats Dhurandhar

    On the other hand, the film Dhurandhar showed a 14.29% increase on the second day, but in terms of earnings, it lagged behind Border 2. Dhurandhar earned Rs 32 crore on the first Saturday. Despite this, Border 2 has become the biggest release of the year 2026 so far. However, the film could not break the record of the biggest opening on Republic Day. This record is still in the name of Shah Rukh Khan’s film Pathaan, which opened Rs 55 crore on Republic Day. However, Border 2 is expected to cross the Rs 100 crore mark by the end of the opening weekend.

Ranbir Kapoor’s film Animal (2023), with a length of 3 hours and 23 minutes, proved that if the story is strong, the audience also likes to watch long films. Pushpa 2 (2025) had a duration of 3 hours and 20 minutes and Dhurandhar created history by becoming the biggest Hindi hit of the year with 3 hours and 34 minutes. Now another big film is going to be added to this series.

    Is Border 2 longer than Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar?

    According to a Bollywood Hungama report, the length of the upcoming war drama film Border 2 is said to be around 200 minutes. That means the film will be about 3 hours and 20 minutes. However, the makers are yet to finalise the release date. It may change a few minutes after post-production and final editing. As soon as the film gets the censor certificate, its exact duration will be revealed. But, certainly, it is also going to be included in the list of recent long films.

    The makers felt that the film needed a longer runtime. Border 2 is a war film, and it needs more time to show the seriousness, emotions, and events of the war in the right way. There are four other actors in the film. The film stars Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, and Sunny Deol. The length of the film has been increased to show all these characters and their stories properly. The makers say that it was important to give full justice to every character. The makers have also taken care that the film does not burden the audience anywhere. According to reports, the film has plenty of drama, patriotism and mass entertainment moments.     Border will release in theatres on January 23, 2026, giving it the Republic Day holiday of January 26 and a full four-day long weekend. While 1997’s Border was directed by J.P. Dutta, its sequel is being directed by Anurag Singh of Kesari fame. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar of T-Series, along with J. P. Dutta and Nidhi Dutta.

    A source informed Bollywood Hungama that the story of Gadar 3 will pick up immediately from where Gadar 2 came to an end. There won’t be much gap between the timelines of Gadar 2 and Gadar 3. The reports suggests that the makers are of an opinion that it won’t look pretty logical to show Tara Singh as a young character even after so many years. Therefore, the storyline would be set in 1980s or 1999. The source also revealed that the makers had almost four ideas for Gadar 3 and finally they locked the one that had the most potential. “Like the first two parts, Gadar 3 is also expected to be rich in emotions, music, action and of course, patriotism,” said the source to the portal. He was quoted saying, “It has been there ever since Gadar released, ‘yeh part 2 kar raha hoon, voh part 12 kar raha hoon’, arre kitni part 2 kar raha hoon! Har cheez ke rumours chale jaa rahe hain. I will announce it myself. People like to speculation.” There is a speculation that he is a part of Border 2 as well.

    Gadar music director Uttam Singh refutes claims of Anil Sharma about seeking permission to use two of his songs

    Uttam Singh, the music director of Gadar, denied the claims of director Anil Sharma that he took the original music director’s permission to use the popular songs. In an interview with an online entertainment news portal, Uttam Singh shared that Anil only called him and told him about the release of the original movie before the sequel. He did not tell him anything about the songs. Anil called Singh to the office and asked him to rework the original music as Gadar was re-releasing in theatres. Singh agreed and revealed that the music company was unhappy with the expenses incurred for reworking the music.     Uttam Singh never informed about using original songs in new movie?

    Uttam Singh tells Bollywood Hungama that Anil Sharma made him hear the Khairiyat song in another room. He found it untuned and fixed it. But Singh refused the claims of Anil Sharma taking permission or making him hear the other songs. “No permission was taken from me,” says the music composer.     Anil Sharma’s claims; Uttam Singh’s response

    Earlier, Anil Sharma claimed that Uttam Singh was feeling guilty about creating a controversy. The director shared that a mountain has been made out of a mole and praised the music composer by calling him a man of pure gold. Uttam Singh claimed that respect and boundaries hold a lot of importance in India and so do creative rights. He said that it is very bad on Anil Sharma’s part for keeping him in the dark about using his songs in the sequel.

    Sunny Deol starrer new movie has done a business of Rs 520 crores at the domestic box office. Recently, the makers lowered the price to cash in on the festive season.

    Esha Deol whose movie Ek Duaa received a special mention at the 69th National Awards has been recently grabbing headlines for opening up about her equation with half-brothers Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. In a recent interview, the actress was asked whom she thinks is the coolest brother and Sunny won the prize. Notably, Esha is the daughter of veteran actors Dharmendra and Hema Malini. Dharmendra was earlier married to Prakash Kaur, with whom he had four children named Bobby Deol, Sunny Deol, Vijeta Deol, and Ajeita Deol. 

    Esha Deol chooses Sunny Deol as coolest brother

    During an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Esha Deol  delved into a fun rapid-fire session where she revealed that she thinks Sunny Deol is the “coolest” brother. Speaking more of Gadar 2 star, the actress continued, “He is cool, and he is warm.”

    In an interview with the same portal, Esha spoke about the public speculations about her equation with Sunny and Bobby.

    She said, “The media knows what the public will like and they cater to them. They are doing their job. I don’t ever take it to heart. I take it with a pinch of salt. It’s something that I am always aware of. I knew we are often spoken of. There are certain things we can talk about and there are certain things we don’t want to talk about and we will not no matter how much we are coaxed.” 

    She also added that the affection she and Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol experienced lately is because of their father Dharmendra’s enduring legacy. The actress said, “This comes from my father. It’s his aura, his persona and we are his seeds so we are just taking it forward and the public who has that love for him gives it to us.”

    Reacting to the pictures of her with her half-brothers during the Gadar 2 screening, the Dhoom actress said that they are private as a family. “We are very respectful towards each other,” added Esha. 

    Whether she ties them Rakhi or not is none of anyone else’s business as Esha continued and further added that she and her family are not here “to prove to people.”

They auditioned her multiple times before selecting her. They were auditioning lots of newcomers. She got to know that she was selected after six-seven months of the audition.”

    She further added, “It feels sad that those who do online trolling don’t know that these kids are putting in equal effort. You cannot take that away from them. She got this role on her own merit. Today, it is not possible for anybody to excel in a field without talent. Which producer will spend Rs 30-40 crore on your kid if he/she doesn’t have the talent? So this is not a good argument.” 

    Dono is all set to release on the 5th of October, 2023.

The Anil Sharma directorial has not only received positive reviews from the critics but also plethora of love from the audience. Following the much-hype around his film, the actor has been preoccupied with several interviews. Now, in one of the interviews, the actor made a surprising revelation about being dyslexic as a child.

    Sunny Deol opens up on being a dyslexic child

    In an interview with popular YouTuber Ranveer Allahabadia, Sunny Deol revealed how Telemprompters were his sneaky nemesis and the public speaking jitters were rooted to the very same cause. The actor turned politician went on to reveal that he would often get slapped for not scoring well in studies, but no one really knew what dyslexia even meant back then.

    He said, “I was dyslexic as a child. Back then, we didn’t even know what that meant! Thappad padte the, duffer hai, padhai nahi aati (I would get slapped, called duffer for not being able to study). Even now when it comes to reading, sometimes the words seem all jumbled up.”

     

    In addition to this, he also shared that when people ask him to use a teleprompter during a public gathering, he refuses. “I am like, ‘You tell me what to say, I will try to say it.”. Calling being dyslexic as ‘one aspect’ of his personality, he revealed having a very high IQ. “Me being dyslexic never came up in conversation over the years. But it used to get difficult, initially I would feel (nervous) to speak.” Furthermore, Gadar 2 actor also confesses that with age he feels being more candid. In the initial times, when he was handed over the microphone, he would wonder, “Now what do I say?”

    The Border actor made a comeback to the big screen nearly nine years after Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 with the sequel of the iconic 2001 release, Gadar. The film shattered all the records and emerged as the highest grossing film of the year after Pathaan. Recently, the film crossed the Rs 400 crore mark at the box office.
