Pushpa 2 (2025) had a duration of 3 hours and 20 minutes and Dhurandhar created history by becoming the biggest Hindi hit of the year with 3 hours and 34 minutes. Now another big film is going to be added to this series.

    Is Border 2 longer than Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar?

    According to a Bollywood Hungama report, the length of the upcoming war drama film Border 2 is said to be around 200 minutes. That means the film will be about 3 hours and 20 minutes. However, the makers are yet to finalise the release date. It may change a few minutes after post-production and final editing. As soon as the film gets the censor certificate, its exact duration will be revealed. But, certainly, it is also going to be included in the list of recent long films.

    The makers felt that the film needed a longer runtime. Border 2 is a war film, and it needs more time to show the seriousness, emotions, and events of the war in the right way. There are four other actors in the film. The film stars Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, and Sunny Deol. The length of the film has been increased to show all these characters and their stories properly. The makers say that it was important to give full justice to every character. The makers have also taken care that the film does not burden the audience anywhere. According to reports, the film has plenty of drama, patriotism and mass entertainment moments.     Border will release in theatres on January 23, 2026, giving it the Republic Day holiday of January 26 and a full four-day long weekend. While 1997’s Border was directed by J.P. Dutta, its sequel is being directed by Anurag Singh of Kesari fame. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar of T-Series, along with J. P. Dutta and Nidhi Dutta.

The movie stars Vikram Prabhu, S Rajapandi, Ananda, Anishma Anilkumar, Sushmitha Bhat, Ragu Esaki, Wenugopal Kesavan, LK Akshay Kumar and Harishankar Narayanan in key roles. The movie has been directed by Madhesh Manickam and produced by Seven Screen Studio. The movie had a runtime of 2 hours and 5 minutes.

    Bollywood actors Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, who appeared in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, are reportedly to be paired again in a movie named Pralay. It is a post‑apocalyptic thriller, which is set to be directed by Jai Mehta. According to reports, the makers are considering Alia Bhatt opposite Ranveer Singh, sparking excitement among fans post Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Reports also suggest that the film will explore a world which is devastated by a catastrophic event that thrusts humanity into chaos. As quoted by Mid-Day, “The female lead is central to the narrative. She isn’t introduced as a love interest. She challenges the hero’s ideas in a collapsing world. Who could wield that power better than Bhatt? She brings credibility. In a film this experimental, you need powerhouses and actors the audience’s trust.”

    If the casting gets confirmed for Pralay, then it will be the third movie together after Gully Boy and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The film will also feature Hrithik Roshan in special roles. The movie has been directed by Shiv Rawail and produced by Aditya Chopra. According to reports, the film was initially scheduled to be released on April 17, 2026. But as Salman Khan’s movie, Battle of Galwan set to release on the same date, the makers of Alpha have reportedly pushed the release date. However, an official confirmation about the same is awaited.

Ever since the first part was released in theatres on December 5, fans have been quite excited to see the sequel as well. Recently, R Madhavan, who played a pivotal role in the film, talked about his limited screen time in Dhurandhar. The actor shared that the audience will get to see a lot more about his character in the coming sequel.

    In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, R Madhavan said, “Aditya Dhar is a monk. Through all the chaos of making a film so dense and intense, he would sit there for the anxieties to settle down. What a fine human being! After working with Aditya in Dhurandhar, I want to work with him again and again.”

    “My screen presence is limited in the first part. But in the second part, which will release in March, there is a lot of my character as he trains Ranveer’s character in skills of espionage warfare,” he further added. This also highlights that Dhurandhar 2 will also focus on the mentor-trainee dynamic between Ajay Sanyal and Jaskirat, showing the transformation of a full-fledged spy.

    In the same interview, Madhavan also opened up about doing multiple projects in 2025. He added, “I started the year with Hisaab Barabar. I am ending the year with Dhurandhar, which is one of the most important films of my career. I’ve had the privilege of working with the best directors in the most creative and productive phase of their career: Mani Ratnam, Kamal Haasan, Rajkumar Hirani, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Aanand L Rai, and now Aditya Dhar.
