Kunickaa Sadanand had made controversial statement, said rape does not exist in the Bollywood industry, as women give flirtatious hints to men.
Kunickaa Sadanand is currently in the headlines for being a participant in the ongoing season of Bigg Boss 19. She is seen as the ‘mother figure’ of the house due to her age and experience. While she has her own controversies and fights going on inside the house, this constant image of her as a motherly figure is not completely tarnished. However, recently, an old interview clip of her has been going pretty viral, where she claimed that rape does not exist in the Bollywood industry. According to her, it is the women who make suggestive comments towards men. In the interview, she recalls her own personal experience with the casting couch as well and compliments her upbringing. Seems like Tanya Mittal isn’t the only one being questioned about her upbringing by Kunickaa; it’s every woman in Bollywood.

After her recent controversies inside of the Bigg Boss home, an outside controversy is brewing up for her as well. An old interview of her with Siddharth Kannan has been resurfaced, where the actress can be seen saying that rape does not exist in Bollywood, and it’s the women who give hints to men. She said, “Humari industry main na, main aisa maanti hoon, ki rape nahi hota hai. Kahi na kahi ladki ki taraf se bhi ek ishara hota hai. Ab jaise main aapke paas aayi kaam ke liye, ‘Hi, sir, I’d like to work with you koi accha role hoga toh.’ Yeh ho gaya ek?”
Continuing in what seems to be an attempt to be seductive, Kunickaa could be heard saying, “If you behave… aur voh aise aise nain naksh…”
She then continued, “Aap aisi aisi line bolenge toh… I’ve never heard of anybody being raped who has been clear and straightforward. I’ve always been clear and straightforward. Boss, mujhe kisi bhi keemat pe heroine nahi banna hai.”

Netizens are receiving this comment negatively. When the clip was posted on Instagram, people flooded to the comment section. One user said, “And she wants women empowerment by passing such comments.”
Another user added, “Omg, the audacity. She literally calls herself a ‘feminist’”
Most people are criticizing her remarks, calling her out for proclaiming herself a feminist, while others believe that she is just ‘stating facts’ and ‘saying the truth.’
While the comment section is polarized, Kumar Sanu’s son, Jaan Kumar Sanu, chose his side.
What Did Jaan Kumar Sanu Say?
Kumar Sanu’s son commented on the Instagram post himself and said, “She did this herself her whole life. With married men and whoever she could get hands on. Mooh kholna nahi hai zyada. Bohot dhotiya khul jaayenge phir.”For the unversed, Kunickaa was in a six-year-long relationship with Kumar Sanu while he was married.
Kunickaa’s Personal Experience
While the clip cut off here, in the entire interview, Kunickaa could be seen narrating her personal experience with the casting couch. Kunickaa said that even though she fell in love with a married director, she had never “compromised” to get a film. She then went on to share an incident that occurred with her, where she said, “Main sach bataun, kisi ne mujhe offer bhi nahi kiya. Sign karne ke liye… producer ne koshish kiya tha… makeup room Mehboob Studio main.” She claimed that an assistant director called her hairstylist out of the room, and then a director entered the room she was in and touched her in an inappropriate manner. She also claimed that she was extremely scared in that situation and that she wanted to hit the said director. However, she was scared about how the situation might pan out, and she did not want her reputation to get tarnished by the director in question.
