    Source: Neon/I Love Boosters

Social media is buzzing over Keke Palmer and her colorful crew of professional shoplifters in upcoming Bay area-heist comedy I Love Boosters–the latest brilliantly bonkers film from visionary filmmaker Boots Riley.

In I Love Boosters (premiering at this year’s SXSW Festival), Palmer engages in sticky-fingered shenanigans with Taylour Page, Naomi Ackie, Poppy Liu, and Eiza González who, together, are the Velvet Gang targeting a ruthless fashion maven (Demi Moore) as their, uh, unique brand of community service.

“I shop here a lot, and I feel like I should have it all,” says a fabulously dressed Palmer in the opening scene of the teaser. “I just want to take it all home, heat it up and shoot it out my eyes. I just feel like, ‘Give it to me. It’s mine, anyway.’”

Check out the teaser trailer below:

Written and directed by Riley (known for his 2018 mind-blower Sorry to Bother You and underrated Prime Video series I’m a Virgo), I Love Boosters also stars LaKeith Stanfield, Don Cheadle, and Will Poulter who round out the star-studded cast for one of 2026’s most anticipated films.

“We can’t wait for our audience to be sucked into his singular, subversive world where razor-sharp social commentary meets fearless, surreal storytelling and eye-popping imagery — all powered by a ridiculously stacked cast of some of the most talented actors on the planet,” said Claudette Godfrey, SXSW VP of Film & TV in a statement announcing the selection, per IndieWire.

I Love Boosters is audacious, entertaining, and guaranteed to get our festival off to an unforgettable start. Trust us, you’ll want to be there when The Velvet Gang bursts onto the scene!”

Will you be seated for I Love Boosters in theaters May 22, 2026? Tell us down below and peep some social media hysteria over the buzzy film on the flip.

  • Keke Palmer Brings the Heat On A Spicy Bonus Episode of Hot Ones–Featuring A Surprise Sean Evans Smooch!

    [ad_1]

Keke Palmer is back on Hot Ones for a special bonus episode!

Source: First We Feast / Hot Ones

The award-winning actress, singer, and producer made her fiery return to Hot Ones in a sizzling bonus episode that dropped just in time for the launch of the limited-edition Popeyes x Hot Ones menu. This special episode sees Keke go toe-to-toe with the infamous Hot Ones wing gauntlet for a second time, but for this round, there’s a delicious twist: taste-testing the collab menu that’s burning up the fast food world.

Still, this episode is more than just spicy grub, It’s classic Keke with a candid, hilarious conversation (and some serious flirtation with host Sean Evans, who previously admitted to having a crush on Palmer).

As she makes her way through sauced-up Popeyes favorites, Palmer dives into everything from perfectionism to podcasting pet peeves, ending in a now-viral smooch with Sean.

“You gotta lock lips with Sean when you’ve been through the gauntlet,” she joked. “That’s trauma bonding!”

Keke went on to reflect on the visual art for her upcoming album Just Keke, revealing how growing up in the spotlight shaped her self-image.

“I’ve always been seen as a product,” she says, “especially as a kid when you’re trying to know who you are… So I think it’s really a metaphor. At the end of the day… I’m just a girl, I’m just a mom, I’m just Keke, I’m just somebody who’s trying to figure it out.”

As the host of her own hit podcast, Keke isn’t shy about what grinds her gears: “When people aren’t happy to be there… you could’ve said no! “Keke Palmer’s got great snacks! You come on the show, you leave with a bag.”

In one of the episode’s most heartwarming moments, Keke opens up about receiving a compliment from none other than comedy legend Eddie Murphy.

“I was out of my mind,” she gushes. “The Eddie Murphy said I reminded him of him… I think about it every morning. Eddie Murphy is iconic. I love ya, Eddie.”

When asked what reality competition show she could dominate, Keke didn’t hesitate: American Idol.

“I would’ve been up there with my girl Fantasia,” she says, “Not her season though — she would’ve beat me. But I woulda been in there!”

In celebration of the episode, the limited-edition Popeyes x Hot Ones menu is now available at participating Popeyes locations and on the Popeyes app and website starting September 15. The menu includes spicy takes on classic items — and if Keke’s reactions are anything to go by, it’s not for the faint of tongue.

  • ‘The Burbs’ Director Reacts to Movie’s Keke Palmer-Led Series Remake: “It’s Kind of a One-Off Story”

‘The Burbs’ Director Reacts to Movie’s Keke Palmer-Led Series Remake: “It’s Kind of a One-Off Story”

    [ad_1]

Joe Dante is a bit surprised that his movie The ‘Burbs is getting the series-remake treatment.

Dante recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter to promote the Max animated series Gremlins: The Wild Batch returning this week for its second season. Dante directed the 1984 feature Gremlins and its 1990 sequel, and he serves as consulting producer on the prequel show.

The filmmaker also helmed the 1989 dark comedy The ‘Burbs, which starred Tom Hanks, Bruce Dern and Carrie Fisher in the story of a family man who becomes convinced that his new neighbors are hiding a spooky secret. The movie received renewed attention with the news last month that Keke Palmer is set to star in a series version for Peacock from executive producers Brian Grazer and Seth MacFarlane.

Dante took to X (formerly Twitter) at the time of the series announcement with the message, “Call me maybe,” in response to a post about the news.

When asked how he feels about the remake, Dante tells THR with a laugh, “I think my actual comment was, ‘How are they going to make a whole TV series out of that story?’ As opposed to, ‘I want to be the one to do it.’”

He continues, “Good luck to them. It’s kind a one-off story.”

Dante confirms that he has not been contacted by the series’ team about being involved. As for how he feels about his film from 35 years ago spawning a new project, Dante says, “It’s always nice when things have a shelf life.”

During the conversation about Gremlins: The Wild Bunch, Dante also discussed the chances for a third Gremlins movie. “That’s up to the audience,” he said about the possibility of another film. “The fact is that it’s too big a property for somebody not to make something.”

The filmmaker added, “But it’s been difficult for people to wrap their heads around, ‘Exactly how are we going to do this?’ This series is a brilliant answer to that problem because it’s a prequel, and it’s animated, and it’s the perfect next step in the Gremlins saga.”

Detroit Stand Up! Skilla Baby Shakes Up Social Media After Saying THIS About Eminem (WATCH)

    [ad_1]

Skilla Baby sparked a debate on social media thanks to his opinion on Eminem and what Detroit natives think about his music. He shared his thoughts while appearing on the ‘Baby, This is Keke Palmer’ podcast.

RELATED: Wayment! Rapper Skilla Baby Drags Social Media User Who Said He’s “Not Cute”

Skilla Baby Speaks On Detroit’s Best Rapper

While speaking with Keke Palmer, Skilla Baby argued that Eminem isn’t the top rapper from Detroit, noting that the title shifts due to inconsistent output from local artists.

“I don’t know, because if you think number wise Eminem is the best Detroit rapper. But the gag is nobody would say that in Detroit,” Skilla said.

When Keke asked Skilla who Detroit’s favorite rapper was, he said he wasn’t sure because everyone had their moment at the top in the city.

“Everybody had a turn being Detroit’s favorite rapper. Sada Baby had a turn, Tee Grizzley had a turn, Dugg had a turn, Babyface Ray had a turn, Veeze is one of Detroit’s best rappers, Baby Smoove. There’s a lot of artists that had their turn. Everybody had their turn being the best in the city. But, what we lack is consistency. Nobody has consistently been Detroit’s best rapper or favorite rapper,” Skilla continued.

Additionally, Skilla Baby stood on his point about Eminem. He claimed that while Detroit respects Eminem, he doesn’t believe the legendary rapper would currently be considered the city’s best rapper.

“But nobody in Detroit plays Eminem right now, I’m not gonna lie. And I was an Eminem fan as a kid. I’m a fan of Eminem, but do we consider him our best rapper. I don’t think Detroit does,” Skilla explained.

Rapper & Big Sean Hop In TSR Comment Section

Social media was divided by Skilla’s statements, but the Detroit-bred emcee jumped into The Shade Room comment section to acknowledge other greats from his hometown, including Kash Doll and Big Sean. Big Sean also hopped in to show love to Skilla.

@skillababy wrote, “NO SHADE TO ANYBODY NAMES I LEFT OFF DETROIT IS FULL OF GREAT RAPPERS AND I CANT FORGET KASH DOLL BIG SEASON AND DEJ OF COURSE.”

    @bigsean wrote, “Love Skilla.”

Instagram user @brielle097 wrote, “That’s facts he’s word famous not Detroit famous lol.”

Instagram user @detroitgottalent wrote, “We respect Eminem but we don’t listen to his music.”

Another Instagram user @dappermann wrote, “Big Sean is the answer. And he is consistent.”

While Instagram user @h_jedoo wrote, “Bruh Detroit itself was known to the word because of Eminem wtf they talking about them new generation better keep listening to Sexyy Red and stop give their opinion on real rappers.”

Then Instagram user @jemelehill wrote, “If you’re not from Detroit (which I am), you won’t get this. People from Detroit have a lot of love and respect for Eminem, but there’s a disconnect most of y’all outside of Detroit wouldn’t understand. The majority of folks from Detroit aren’t going to say Eminem.”

Instagram user @xhibit_a_ wrote, “So if there was a battle among cities y’all not sending Eminem as the best to represent y’all in the battle?”

Lastly, Instagram user @tree.oxg wrote, “Nobody he named is close to Em career lol.”

  • Everyone Who Whoopi Goldberg Has Asked to Be in Sister Act 3

Everyone Who Whoopi Goldberg Has Asked to Be in Sister Act 3

    [ad_1]

Asking people to be in your movie is a tough habit to break.
Photo: Lou Rocco/ABC via Getty Images

As any regular viewer of The View knows, there are two questions moderator Whoopi Goldberg loves asking the show’s guests on live television. The first of which is to come back to guest co-host, an offer that never materializes, and the second is asking them to co-star with her in the long-awaited Sister Act 3. Goldberg has been struggling to make Sister Act 3 happen for years, and when Disney finally gave the project the go in 2021 with Tyler Perry as a producer, she wasted no time assembling a cast. Using her day job at The View as an open casting call, Goldberg brilliantly circumvents agents and managers by putting actors right on the spot in front of an audience. Anything that has to be done to make this movie happen — after all, what a waste it would be to miss out on a title like Sister Act 3: Breaking the Habit. Let’s look back at the many people who Goldberg has already asked to appear in this (hopefully) upcoming film, from Pope Francis to JoJo Siwa.

As Daisy Ridley took her seat for her May 25, 2024 appearance on The View, she giddily told Goldberg, “I’m a really big fan.” In turn, Goldberg responded by saying, “I know you’re an extraordinary singer, maybe we should talk about 3. But we’ll do that another time.” The sheer power of being able to refer to Sister Act 3 as simply 3, and still have a gobsmacked Ridley know exactly what she’s talking about. Most talk shows only give the guests a mug, The View gives them gigs.

While appearing on The Tonight Show in May of 2024, Goldberg revealed to Jimmy Fallon that during her recent meeting with the pope (who she says seemed to be a fan of Sister Act), she offered him a cameo in the upcoming sequel. “He said he’d see what his time was like,” Goldberg joked. The offer seems like a smart move, given that it might take an act of God to make this movie happen.

In February of 2024, Goldberg reunited with Sheryl Lee Ralph, who played the mother of Lauryn Hill’s character in Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit, and surprised her with an offer to return to the franchise. “We’re in the process of putting together 3, will you come be part of it? Whatever it is?” she asked.

Back when Jimmy Fallon appeared on The View in March of 2023, Goldberg doubled down on an offer she had extended to him. “You still gonna come and do Sister Act?” she asked, with the late night host confirming by telling Goldberg, “Whatever I can do to help, I will do a cameo, I will pop my head through a window and wave, I’ll do whatever you need me to do.”

That conversation got the table thinking, with Joy Behar chiming in to suggest that all of the panelists join the fun. “We could all be nuns also, you know,” she said, with Alyssa Farah Griffin adding, “I’ve been pitching this.” Goldberg didn’t seem quite as receptive to this idea, but conceded that it’s technically a possibility, saying, “Yeah we could.”

While appearing on Loose Women in January of 2023, Goldberg delivered a public plea down the barrel of the camera directly to her Sister Act co-star Dame Maggie Smith. “One of the things that I want to make sure I do while I’m here is I want to let Maggie Smith know, that I’m holding the part of Mother Superior for you, because I just can’t do it with anybody but you,” she said. “So if you need me to come over here and shoot it and do whatever we have to do, we will do whatever you want us to do. Because we don’t want to do it without you, Maggie.”

In October of 2022, during an appearance on Hell of a Week with Charlamagne Tha God, Goldberg teased her dream cast for the project. “I want everybody to come in, I want Lizzo to come in, I want everybody. I want the girl with the chest, what’s her name?” she asked, before remembering Nicki Minaj’s name, “Nicki! I want Nicki to come in.”

When Kathy Najimy, who played Sister Mary Patrick in the original films, came to the table to promote Hocus Pocus 2, she asked about the status of the third movie. Goldberg told her that it was in fact happening, but came short of extending a formal invitation. Perhaps Najimy’s return simply goes without saying! Nonetheless, Goldberg did credit the return of Hocus Pocus with inspiring Disney to let Sister Act’s nuns get back in the habit as well.

Before Jenifer Lewis’s interview on The View in September of 2022 even got started, Goldberg told her, “You know, we’re still gonna do that movie, you know that, going back,” before reminding the audience, “You know, she’s in Sister Act.” Lewis appeared in both Sister Act films as Michelle, one of Deloris Van Cartier’s background singers.

Alright, this one certainly wasn’t a formal offer, but Goldberg made a point to let JoJo Siwa know back in 2021 that casting was underway. Just imagine her introducing a convent of nuns to “gay pop.”

It’s only fitting that the famously booked Keke Palmer was the first to get this ball rolling, not even waiting for Goldberg to make the offer during her appearance on The View way back in November of 2021. “Now Whoopi, I gotta shoot my shot, like I did with Issa a little bit ago,” Palmer said, referring to tweeting her way onto Issa Rae’s Insecure. “I heard that Tyler Perry is doing Sister Act 3 and I just want you to know I’m available for the job. Any job. I mean, you ain’t got to say nothing now, you know, I’ll send you an email or something. Just let me know if you need me.” But as it turns out, great minds think alike. “I already brought it up,” Goldberg responded, which sounds like she’s definitely in the mix, and thank god for that. Forget the pope, Keke Palmer is the most important addition to this franchise!

  • I Watched Jennifer Lopez’s “This Is Me … Now” Odyssey So You Don’t Have To

I Watched Jennifer Lopez’s “This Is Me … Now” Odyssey So You Don’t Have To

    [ad_1]

My most controversial take: Jennifer Lopez can barely act and barely sing, yet we’ve somehow allowed her to build an entire career around both. That’s how we ended up with This is Me … Now: A Love Story, J. Lo’s music video meets semi-autobiographical feature film meets thesis on the merits of astrology (points were made). They’re calling it her Cloud Atlas. Meanwhile, I’m still waiting for the Beyonce Renaissance visuals.

What is Jennifer Lopez This is Me … Now: A Love Story About?

Before we get into the plot, if there was one, we have to ask ourselves: what was this movie at all? If you’re the only person in the world who missed it, this is the context. Jennifer Lopez recently married Ben Affleck, king of Dunkin Donuts, after their relationship took a twenty-year hiatus. This is Me … Now is about that tale. It’s also a sequel to her 2002 album This Is Me … Then.

But it’s not a story of how she met Affleck and found her way back to him. Their romance has been reported ad nauseam by the media, contributing to its initial demise. In Jennifer Lopez’s newest movie, she talks about her journey to loving herself — and how that brought her back to Ben in the end.

To tell this story, J. Lo spent $20 million dollars of her own money on this three-part project: the album, the hour-long Amazon Prime Video musical film (both released Friday, February 16th), and then a documentary about the making of the record and the film dropping on Tuesday, February 27th.

The musical film has been the talk of the internet since the tailor dropped. The internet called it J.Lo’s Cloud Atlas, they marveled at the celebrity appearances (which were even more surprising in the full film), and wondered, why, Jen, why?

What happens in Jennifer Lopez’s This Is Me … Now?

The story is a combination of dream sequences and dance breaks, tenuously stitched together with a therapy plotline starring Fat Joe as the therapist. But before all that, it begins with a heartbreak. Lopez is riding on the back of Affleck’s motorcycle when they suddenly crash. No prizes for guessing what that represents. Then, she launches into the first dream sequence, a dance break in a “heart factory” where workers exclaim: “it’s gonna break.”

This melodramatic fictionalization of her first breakup with Affleck is emblematic of the insanity that ensues. The story follows as Lopez marries three times and falls into a string of relationships. The lesson is exactly what you’d expect: she has to love herself first. This realization culminates in the title track of the album, “This Is Me … Now.”

Who is in This Is Me … Now: Cast Cameos for the Ages

Like a Marvel movie or Oppenheimer, the main merit of this film is pointing at the TV and saying, hey, I know that actor! The This Is Me … Now cast was one for the ages. Quite the cast of characters. But I would have watched it just for them.

The most iconic scenes were the ones on the Zodiac council, a strange (but honestly satisfying) side plot that showed the council of the constellations watching with horror as J. Lo’s love life unfolded. This was a roundtable worthy of a Variety video. It starred Jane Fonda as Sagittarius, Trevor Noah as Libra, Kim Petras as Virgo, Keke Palmer as Scorpio, Sofía Vergara as Cancer, Jenifer Lewis as Gemini, Jay Shetty as Aries, Neil DeGrasse Tyson as Taurus, Sadhguru as Pisces, and, last but certainly not least, rapper Post Malone as Leo.

It was at this moment I wondered: “Is this the funniest movie of the year?” Why was Keke Palmer doing a Maya Angelou impersonation? I’ll never know, but I’ll be glad to see it.

Was This Is Me … Now good?

I have to give it to J.Lo, she’s an entertainer. We know her limitations when it comes to singing and acting, even if she doesn’t,…but as a dancer? She can perform. However, it would have been a much more satisfying performance if the songs were good. Apart from the admittedly catchy title track, the songs are immediately forgettable and, in the context of the film, feel overly sentimental. But what’s new from the romcom legend J. Lo.

But I will say: though this task was ambitious and self-indulgent, I commend J. Lo for taking a creative risk and pioneering a new form of musical storytelling. She did what she wanted to do — and it was a blend of Cloud Atlas and Singing in the Rain. I hope more artists break past the boundaries of their bubbles and connect back to their creativity by being bold. I just wish it were good. Beyonce, your turn.

What to Watch on Streaming This Week: February 23-29

    [ad_1]

Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal in All of Us Strangers. Photo by Parisa Taghizadeh, Courtesy of Searchlight Pictures

From a major Oscar winner to one of this year’s biggest awards snubs, this week is filled with some recent quality content. Plus, a fun new spin-off of The Good Wife, FX’s newest blockbuster series, and some animated fun are all premiering.

    What to watch on Netflix

    Everything Everywhere All at Once

With the Oscars now less than a month away, why not refresh your awards season memory by watching last year’s undeniable winner? Everything Everywhere All at Once all but swept the season, taking home seven Oscars (including Best Picture). In this genre-bending exercise in action and absurdism, Michelle Yeoh stars as Evelyn, a middle-aged Chinese immigrant who’s struggling to hold her life together: her business is getting audited by the IRS (represented by Jamie Lee Curtis), her husband (Ke Huy Quan) feels like their marriage is a mess, and her daughter (Stephanie Hsu) is tired of her mom not accepting her. Everything Everywhere All at Once streams Friday, February 23rd. Read Observer’s review.

    The Tourist

A British export recently picked up by Netflix, The Tourist is a thrilling ride. Jamie Dornan stars as a man who, in Season 1, woke up alone and amnesiac in the Australian Outback. With a bevy of people out to get him, he had to act fast to try to piece together his true identity. Now, in Season 2, Dornan’s Elliot has an idea of who he is, and it’s not pretty. He ventures back to his native Ireland with Constable Helen Chambers (Danielle Macdonald), where plenty of surprises await. Season 2 of The Tourist premieres Thursday, February 29th.

    What to watch on Hulu

    All of Us Strangers

A moving, heartbreaking, devastatingly relatable drama, All of Us Strangers takes a fantastical conceit and makes it into one of last year’s most human films. Andrew Scott stars as a lonely writer, dealing with unresolved guilt from his parents’ sudden passing several decades ago. But after a chance encounter with one of his apartment block’s few other residents (Paul Mescal), he ventures to his childhood home and finds his parents, exactly as they were all those years earlier. It’s a difficult needle to thread, but writer-director Andrew Haigh does it with a deep sense of sympathy. All of Us Strangers premiered Thursday, February 22nd. Read Observer’s review.

    Shōgun

Based on the novel of the same name, Shōgun is a new historical epic on FX. The series take place in feudal Japan, where three people’s paths intertwine. First, there’s the shipwrecked English sailor, John Blackstone (Cosmo Jarvis); second, there’s Lord Toranaga (Hiroyuki Sanada), who’s contending with his keen political rivals; lastly, there’s the Lady Moriko (Anna Sawai), whose necessary skills belie her mysterious past. It’s a sprawling drama filled with political intrigue, richly realized medieval battles, and fascinating characters, all coming together to make a spectacle of a show. Shōgun will be available to stream Tuesday, February 27th.

What to watch on Amazon Prime

The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy

Following Hazbin Hotel, Amazon is looking to further bulk up its adult animated slate with The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy. The series follows Dr. Sleech (Stephanie Hsu) and Dr. Klak (Keke Palmer), a pair of brilliant besties with expertise in all sorts of intergalactic injuries and illnesses. But when a new patient presents a new possibility to cure a universal ill, they decide to take the opportunity—even if they may lose their lives (or their licenses) in the process. The rest of the talented voice cast includes Kieran Culkin, Maya Rudolph, Natasha Lyonne, and Sam Smith. The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy premieres Friday, February 23rd.

    The Green Knight

An Arthurian legend stunningly brought to life by filmmaker David Lowery, A24’s The Green Knight stars Dev Patel as Gawain. Taking cues from the 14th century poem, the film follows Gawain as he strikes down the mystical Green Knight for glory—in exchange for an equal blow bestowed by the knight the following year. It’s a medieval fantasy movie that feels decidedly out of place in the ‘20s, but that’s a good thing. The supporting cast of Alicia Vikander, Joel Edgerton, Barry Keoghan, and Sarita Choudhury help instill things with dread and mystery in equal measure, and Patel makes for quite the convincing knight. The Green Knight streams until Thursday, February 29th. Read Observer’s review.

    What to watch on Paramount+

    Elsbeth

The Good Wife has already spawned a successful spin-off in The Good Fight, and now Elsbeth is ready to join the proceedings. Carrie Preston returns as fan-favorite Elsbeth Tascioni, the brilliant but unusual attorney. This new series sees her uprooting her successful Chicago career and bringing her unique talents to New York, where she works with NYPD Captain Wagner (Wendell Pierce) and Officer Blanke (Carra Patterson) to solve a litany of legal cases. For a character that’s existed in the background of shows for over a decade, it’s sure to be an interesting adventure for Elsbeth. Elsbeth will be available to stream starting Thursday, February 29th.

What to Watch is a regular endorsement of movies and TV worth your streaming time.

What’s Tea? Bobbi Althoff Addresses Rumored Feud With Drake Months After Pulling Their Viral Interview (WATCH)

    [ad_1]

Bobbi Althoff has finally addressed the ongoing feuding rumors between her and Drake.

Fans have been speculating for months whether something happened behind the scenes after Bobbi took down her podcast episode with Drizzy.

Bobbi Althoff Addresses Rumored Feud With Drake

Althoff’s interview with Drake marked a significant turning point in her career.

The full-length YouTube video, released in August, had gained so much attention on social media that it became Bobbi’s most-watched video in a matter of weeks.

But in the midst of the hype and attention, her team suddenly pulled the interview from her official YouTube channel with no explanation.

Not to mention that both Bobbi and Drake stopped following each other on social media soon after, per PEOPLE.

Understandably, people online were confused and hoping for some answers.

But during a recent appearance on the ‘Baby, This Is Keke Palmer’ podcast, Bobbi dispelled rumors of having any issues between the Hip Hop chart-topper.

In fact, she claims to still be in contact with him pretty frequently despite no longer following one another on social media.

Keke wanted the tea, oh-kay! She followed up, asking why she thought Drake hit the unfollow button on her page. “I guess we’ll never know,” she said.

When quizzed on the last time she had spoken to him, Bobbi replied, “A couple weeks ago, maybe a month ago?”

Bobbi Praises Drake For Changing Her Life

Despite what may (or may not) have transpired between them, the podcaster describes Drake as a “very nice person.”

She went on to praise him and comedian Funny Marco, crediting them for bringing a significant change in her life.

“Him and Funny Marco. Both of them definitely changed my whole entire life.”

Asked if there had ever been some sort of tension between her and the former ‘Degrassi’ star, Althoff responded with a definitive “No.”

When Bobbi’s interview with Drake was first pulled, some speculated whether there were copyright issues that forced the video to be taken down, per HotNewHipHop.

During one part of their chat, Drake played Tyga’s ‘Rack City’ song on his phone. If Bobbi hadn’t obtained clearance for the song from the rights holder, people believe she could have faced a hefty lawsuit.

But that begs the question of why she didn’t just re-upload the interview to YouTube without the song. Interestingly enough, the ‘NOPE’ actress never asked Bobbi about it, either.

Whatever the case, though, the 26-year-old says there’s no drama between her and Drake. And she’s doing just fine without the viral episode on her channel.

Since interviewing the ‘Rich Baby Daddy’ rapper, she’s had countless celebrities on her podcast, including Jason Derulo, Shaquille O’Neal, and Offset.

And, let’s face it, if there were some drama between them, we would’ve heard it in a song by now, no?

2023 was another Golden Corral buffet of premium shenanigans from Pound Town to Montgomery, Alabama where Ancestrally-Charged African-American Avengers dragged anglo-aggressors into the alabaster abyss during the now-infamous “Fade In The Water.”

There was chair-swangin’ and pain-brangin’ everywhere during the chaotic scene that immediately blew up the whole entire internet.

Easily the greatest moment of 2023, the now-infamous “Riverboat Rumble” stirred up HILARIOUS jokes, memes, and commentary in yet another example of Black Twitter being the epicenter of entertainment.

It was a year of SkeeYees, super freaky pop-pops, shiny Renaissance fabrics, and the hoaxiest hoax of all hoaxes committed by Cheez-It-dusted viral villain Carlee Russell.

    Carlee Russell

    Source: Hoover Police Department

After days of confusion and public scrutiny, Russell admitted that she was not abducted after “stopping to check on a baby walking alone.”

There was no baby on Alabama’s Interstate I459 and the entire thing was described as an “elaborate” hoax

Russell’s attorney, Emory Anthony, sent a statement to Hoover Police Chief Nick Derzis confirming that her kidnapping was a farce.

“Dear Chief Derzis, my client has given me permission to make the following statement on her behalf: There was no kidnapping on July 13, 2023. My client did not see a baby on the side of the road. My client did not leave the Hoover area when she was identified as a missing person. My client did not have any help in this incident, but this was a single act done by herself,’’ Anthony wrote according to AL.com.

Russell was eventually found guilty of two misdemeanor crimes, false reporting to law enforcement authorities, and falsely reporting an incident with the judge recommending that she pay $18,000 in restitution and spend six months in jail per charge for a total of one year.

Overall, 2023 was a charcuterie platter of WTFery with Kelis (reportedly) bringing her milkshake to Bill Murray‘s yard, krusty Karens Karening around town, and Jada Pinkett Smith telling ALL of her business (EVERY BIT OF IT) to anyone who would listen.

  • Keke Palmer's Restraining Order & Criminal Case Against 'Abusive' Ex Darius Jackson Still Active As They Pursue Mediation

Keke Palmer's Restraining Order & Criminal Case Against 'Abusive' Ex Darius Jackson Still Active As They Pursue Mediation

    [ad_1]

Despite inaccurate reports that Keke Palmer “dropped” her restraining order against her “abusive” baby daddy, Darius Jackson, they only pushed back the next court date.

Source: Monica Schipper/Paras Griffin / Getty

The famous former had their next court date scheduled for Dec. 5, but Keke and Darius agreed to postpone it. Less than a month ago, the Big Boss star filed a restraining order against her ex for allegations of abuse. After escalated public drama and family feuding, RadarOnline reports Keke hopes for a private resolution to the case.

The Dec. 5 hearing would be the next step in making Keke’s temporary restraining order against Darius permanent. A court granted her sole custody of their son Leodis and ordered Darius to maintain a 100-yard distance from both.

In a new court filing, the exes agreed to attend mediation together instead of court.

“Both parties are concurrently filing a Stipulation and Order to continue The Court’s Order to Participate in Mediation currently set for November 29, 2023, and Petitioner’s Request for Domestic Violence Restraining Order, which is currently set for December 5, 2023, to allow the parties time to attend mediation,” the court documents stated.

“The parties request that the Mediation and Petitioner’s DVRO be continued on a mutually agreeable date.”

Following the couple’s break-up in October, an incident on Nov. 5 prompted Keke to request a Domestic Violence Restraining Order. The Nope actress claimed she called her mother, Sharon Palmer, after Darius screamed in her face. He allegedly got physical after Sharon checked him over the phone.

“At that point, he lunged at me, grabbing at my neck and face, knocked me backwards over the couch, stole my phone out of my hands, and then ran out of the house,” she said.

The restraining order filing described another alleged assault in February 2020. Keke claimed a photo she took in a bikini upset Darius, who went into a rage and “body slammed” her.

“In the bedroom, he slammed me on the floor and slapped my head from side to side. The next morning, he was standing at the bottom of the stairs near the front door, screaming at me as I was coming down the stairs. When I was almost at the bottom of the stairs, he grabbed me around the neck and body slammed me back onto the stairs,” she said.

The multitalented mogul’s restraining order petition included photos and security camera footage to corroborate her claims. The bombshell allegations inspired an outpouring of support for Keke, overwhelming scrutiny, and Darius seemingly threatening retaliation.

Many comments expressed concerns about Keke possibly “dropping” the restraining order. However, a source reportedly clarified that she’s trying to protect her and Leo’s privacy and safety. Darius could still face criminal charges regardless of the outcome of their upcoming mediation.

“The restraining order that Keke was granted remains in full force and effect and will NOT be dropped. Keke will continue to protect her safety and the safety of Leo above all else. Keke has pressed charges, the poilice report has been filed, the criminal investigation by the police is continuing,” the source revealed to The Shade Room.

Like Teyana Taylor, who was “heartbroken” at her secret divorce filing going public, Keke reportedly just wants to protect her peace and her family.

“The hearing is still on the calendar, as planned. Darius’ lawyer is not available on Dec. 5, so the calendar date will move to January,” the insider continued.

“Keke is concerned about her privacy, Leo’s privacy, and the privacy of her family so her preference is to resolve the situation privately rather than in open court if possible, but if not possible, the hearing remains on the calendar and Keke will stop at nothing to ensure a safe and healthy outcome for herself and Leo.”

It looks like this legal battle is far from over, even if it does continue privately.

UPDATE: Keke Palmer & Darius Daulton Jackson Postpone Court Date Regarding Restraining Order

    [ad_1]

Keke Palmer and Darius Daulton Jackson have postponed their upcoming court date. As The Shade Room previously reported, Palmer was granted a temporary restraining order against Jackson in November.

At the time, Palmer alleged Jackson had been physically and emotionally abusive toward her during their relationship. Additionally, the television host requested legal and sole custody of their infant son.

Keke Palmer & Darius Daulton Jackson’s Reported Agreement

According to Page Six, the outlet obtained court documents filed in a Los Angeles court by Palmer on Thursday. The filing alleges Palmer and Jackson began custody “discussions” on Wednesday, November 29.

Additionally, both parties will continue their conversation on a “mutually agreeable date,” which has not yet been set. Furthermore, Palmer and Jackson have agreed that the December 5 hearing regarding Palmer’s restraining order against Jackson can be rescheduled “until they resolve their issues in mediation.”

Page Six reports that the ex-couple has yet to be given a new hearing date for the restraining order. However, the order will remain in effect until their next hearing.

“[The parties] agree that all orders contained in the Temporary Restraining Order issued on November 9, 2023, shall remain in full force and effect until the hearing,” the court documents reportedly read.

A Look Back On The Actor’s Allegations Against Darius Daulton Jackson

As The Shade Room previously reported, Palmer filed for legal and sole custody of her son with Jackson on November 9. At the time, Palmer explained that she was “concerned” for the infant’s safety.

“I am very concerned for Leo’s safety with Darius given his violent, volatile, and jealous nature, comments he has made which have caused me grave concern, and the lack of restraint Darius has already exhibited regarding his temper in front of our son,” Palmer reportedly alleged.

The following day, a judge granted the actor a temporary restraining order against Jackson. The order forbade him to come within 100 yards of Palmer and their son Leo.

At the time, RadarOnline reported that Jackson was also ordered to turn in his handguns.

Soon after news of the filing went public, screenshots surfaced from security footage of an alleged altercation between Palmer and Jackson. In her filing, Palmer alleged that the incident occurred on November 5.

Jackson reportedly “trespassed” into her home and “lunged” at her, knocking her over her couch. In a separate incident, Palmer accused Jackson of “choking” and “slamming” her onto stairs.

Soon after, Palmer’s mother defended her daughter’s abuse claims against Jackson while even calling out his brother for allegedly displaying the same behavior.

Sarunas Jackson ultimately denied the claims, per The Shade Room. However, he has now become the focus of abuse allegations from the mother of his daughter, Dominique Perry.

  • ‘Insecure’ star DomiNque Perry Accuses Former Co-Star Sarunas J. Jackson Of Abuse

‘Insecure’ star DomiNque Perry Accuses Former Co-Star Sarunas J. Jackson Of Abuse

    [ad_1]

Source: Tommaso Boddi LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – JULY 13: DomiNque Perry attends the red carpet premiere of the HBO Max Original Comedy Series “RAP SH!T” at Hammer Museum on July 13, 2022.

Insecure star DomiNque Perry has accused her former co-star and co-parent, Sarunas J. Jackson, of abuse inside an explosive declaration filed in California Superior Court Nov. 28, according to court documents obtained by People. The complaint was filed two weeks after the actress alluded to being a victim of abuse on social media.

According the petition filed Tuesday, Perry alleged that she “experienced emotional volatility,” “intimidation” and “bullying” from Jackson and members of his family over the past five years. The actress, who starred as Tasha on Insecure, also claimed that she endured “undeserved stress” as well as “mental and physical abuse” due to Jackson and his relatives’ “controlling and narcissistic behavior.”

Perry, who shares a 5-year-old daughter named Zen with the Games People Play star, maintained that she was never romantically involved with the actor. Inside her petition, the Get Hard actress claimed that Jackson has constantly “blamed” her for their daughter  being “on the Autism Spectrum.”

“I was always nervous because I felt that I wasn’t ever good enough by the Petitioner and the family,” the complaint added, according to People.

Perry claimed that Jackson choked her during a “heated” conversation in March 2020.

According to the filing, in March 2020, Perry alleged that Jackson choked her after they had a “heated” conversation about  “a person in the industry,” Radar Online noted.  As their conversation became hostile, the star alleged that the 33-year-old actor “began to repeatedly call her “stupid” and allegedly said, “you talk to your mother like that, not me.” When tensions flared, Jackson allegedly “became more angry and grabbed” Perry by the throat and started “choking” her.

During the heated dispute, Zen came out of her room and began to cry. Perry claimed that Jackson let her neck go once their daughter entered the room. “He was so angry that he had blood coming from his mouth where he bit his tongue,” the declaration stated.

Jackson allegedly returned to Perry’s residence “a few weeks later” with “scratches all over his neck and face,” according to the filing. “I asked what happened and he stated ‘he cornered his mom and they were fighting.’ The choking on his behalf is the norm. He is violent with women,” Perry, who is also embroiled in a heated custody battle with Jackson, alleged.

In his response declaration filed Nov. 16, Jackson vehemently denied Perry’s claims of abuse.

“It is unclear where Respondent’s allegations of emotional volatility and intimidation are coming from,” his declaration stated. “My family and I have always welcomed Respondent with open arms, inviting her to family events and showing her love and support in more ways than one. In return, Respondent has defamed my character to others, making them believe I am an absent father.”

Jackson penned that he worried Perry’s allegations would result in “repercussions” for his acting career.

The complaint comes just a few weeks after Keke Palmer was granted a temporary restraining order against Darius Jackson, Sarunas’ younger brother.

As previously reported, Palmer, 30, was granted a domestic violence restraining order against Darius Jackson — the father of her 8-month-old son, Leodis. The Nope star alleged that Darius assaulted her on more than one occasion. During one heated dispute, Palmer alleged that Darius “lunged” at her neck and “physically attacked” her after he “trespassed” into her home. Under the order, Darius must stay 100 yards away from Palmer and their son until further notice.

Perry posted a meme of Michael Jackson eating popcorn shortly after Keke Palmer’s mother, Sharon, put the brothers on blast for their alleged abusive behavior. Some netizens pondered whether she was making fun of Palmer’s situation, but the actress clarified her intention in a statement posted to Instagram Nov. 10.

“There was a repost of a post I made on yesterday. (There’s situations where you laugh to keep from crying.) Let me give clarity. I would never laugh at ANYONE that is subject to domestic abuse, female or male. As it’s known abuse comes in different definitions, silent and physical,” she wrote, hinting that she was also a victim of abuse.

“Only the people enduring such behavior truly understand the effect. Women have been manipulated, abused, lied on for centuries, and put their head down for fear of not being believed. We need to stop being afraid.”

    Perry added:

“I may not be at the highest platform in my career just yet to be heard and/or supported by the public, but whenever that time comes, everyone will listen. God is in control of my steps and I’ll respond accordingly. I will be vindicated in his timing.”

As BOSSIP previously reported, Keke Palmer filed for a restraining order against her son’s father, Darius Jackson. The report described verbal, physical, and emotional abuse that escalated during Keke’s pregnancy. When the shocking news hit the internet, Darius’ brother, Insecure actor Sarunas Jackson, hurled accusations back at Keke.

“The most disgusting, vile, abusive, manipulative person I have EVER encountered in my entire life.. Abuses almost everyone. Y’all will see. Just send positive energy to the babies.. Any child in the middle of something like this does not deserve it AT ALL. Wow. So damn sad,” he wrote in the now-deleted tweet that Darius reposted.

Keke’s mother, Sharon Palmer, had to speak out to confront the brothers attempting to turn the public against her. She alleged that she came to Sarunas about his brother’s behavior “over a year ago.”

Sharon claimed instead of sharing her concern about abuse, Sarunas admitted that he “used to be like that, too.” She added that the “f**kboy” is the one who “taught his brother how to be abusive.”

Media outlets later released video and photo evidence of altercations corroborating Keke’s descriptions of assaults.

Sarunas denied the conversation with Sharon in the comments on The Shade Room post about it. However, his baby mama, DomiNique, has a story to tell. Her daughter with Sarunas, Zen, turned 5 in May.

The actress spoke out about her reaction to the family fallout, saying she had to “laugh to keep from crying.”

When Darius Jackson’s famous brother came out swinging in his defense, the spotlight expanded to Sarunas Jackson’s messy past. The dysfunctional details about impregnating DomiNique Perry while in another relationship were seemingly just the tip of the iceberg.

As Keke Palmer’s mother confronted Sarunas’ comments, DomiNique shared a meme of Michael Jackson eating popcorn. Some interpreted the post as laughing at Keke’s misfortune. However, the actresses are friends who, unfortunately, seem to have more in common than their kids being cousins.

On Friday, DomiNique took to Instagram to clarify her intentions. The statement also hinted at confirmation that her baby daddy “used to be like” Darius’ allegedly abusive behavior. “Only people enduring such behavior truly understand the effect,” she wrote.

“There was a repost of a post I made on yesterday. (There’s situations where you laugh to keep from crying.) Let me give clarity.

“I would never laugh at ANYONE that is subject to domestic abuse, female or male. As its known abuse come sin different definitions, silent and physical. Only the people enduring such behavior truly understand the effect. Women have been manipulated, abused, lied on for centuries, and put their head down for fear of not being believed. We need to stop being afraid,” she wrote.

It sounds like DomiNique is no longer afraid as she encourages other survivors. She didn’t explicitly describe her experience but hinted at an overdue reckoning for both brothers. She also acknowledged the unfortunate reality of what even the most successful and beloved victims endure in coming forward about abuse. Even now, the Max star expressed doubt she’d receive support for telling her story.

“I may not be at the highest platform in my career just yet to be heard and/or supported by the public, but whenever that time comes, everyone will listen. God is in control of my steps and I’ll respond accordingly. I will be vindicated in his timing,” she continued.

The post ended with a clapback seemingly directed at Sarunas’ deleted tweet about “sending positive energy to the babies.”

“Pray for the abusers. The protected babies will always be fine,” she concluded.

Those are some powerful words from a brave woman who deserves just as much support as Keke when she speaks her truth.

After Keke Palmer filed for a temporary restraining order against her ex Darius Jackson on Thursday, her mother, Sharon Palmer, spoke out against Jackson and his brother, actor Sarunas Jackson, who starred in Insecure.

Sarunas tweeted (and then deleted) a post seemingly disparaging his brother.

“The most disgusting, vile, abusive, manipulative person I have EVER encountered in my entire life.. Abuses almost everyone. Y’all will see,” Sarunas wrote. “Just send positive energy to the babies.. Any child in the middle of something like this does not deserve it AT ALL. Wow. So damn sad.”

On Thursday, Sharon posted a video on Instagram, claiming she had spoken to Sarunas about his brother more than a year ago.

“For Sarunas Jackson to post on his Twitter the ridiculous stuff that he’s posted, when he knew his brother was abusive…” she said to camera. “I went to Sarunas over a year ago,” she claimed in the video, “and told him that his brother was abusive to my daughter, and he said, ‘Well, I used to be like that too.’”

This content can also be viewed on the site it originates from.

Sharon continued, “So now he’s posting on Twitter like he’s this special guy, when we know he’s the biggest fuckboy in Hollywood; he’s disrespectful to women just like his little brother.” Sarunas, she alleged, “taught his brother how to be abusive. So he don’t get to act like he’s this special guy. No. You’re a fuckboy, and you’re part of the problem.”

In the post’s caption, Sharon wrote, “I dare you , mess with my family. family means everything to me ! you and your family act like sociopaths and like the world can’t see it. you are phony ! and i saw you from day one , my daughter is kind and our family treated you with kindness and this is how you treat it. i won’t take this laying down anymore IM DONE !” (Vanity Fair has reached out to Keke Palmer for comment.)

Sarunas posted a denial in the comments of a Shade Room post on Instagram. “I NEVER ONCE SAID THAT to Sharon,” he wrote. “NOT ONCE IN MY LIFE. And the threats you made to my family.” (Vanity Fair has reached out to Sarunas and Darius Jackson for comment.)

Palmer’s Thursday filing accused Darius of several incidents of domestic violence, some of which she alleged were captured on her home security camera. A judge granted Palmer the temporary restraining order on Friday and temporary sole custody of her son with Darius, Leodis.

  • Keke Palmer Files Restraining Order, Lists Extensive Incidents of Domestic Violence Against Her Ex Darius Jackson

Keke Palmer Files Restraining Order, Lists Extensive Incidents of Domestic Violence Against Her Ex Darius Jackson

    [ad_1]

On Thursday, Keke Palmer filed a temporary restraining order against her former partner Darius Jackson and requested sole custody of their 8-month-old son, Leodis.

The filing, viewed by People, is rife with accusations against Jackson. Palmer alleges that on Sunday, “Darius trespassed into my home without my knowledge or consent, threatened me, then physically attacked me—lunging for my neck, striking me, throwing me over the couch, and stealing my phone when I told him I was going to call the police.” (Jackson could not immediately be reached for comment.)

The incident began when Jackson, a former college football player and current fitness instructor, came over to take their child to a football game, but discovered the baby was with Palmer’s sister visiting family. They argued, and Jackson allegedly “knocked me backwards over the couch, stole my phone out of my hands, and then ran out of the house.”

This, the filing states, was captured on Palmer’s home security system and will be played in court during a hearing.

When Palmer went outside to get the phone Jackson “nearly hit me with his car.”

The Los Angeles County judge granted a temporary restraining order, which says that Jackson must stay 100 yards away from both the actress and their son. She was also granted temporary sole custody, according to People.

Palmer lists several incidents over the course of the last two years, some of which she says her home security system captured. In the filing, the actor alleges there were “many instances of physical violence, including striking and grabbing me around the neck, descriptions of Darius destroying my personal property, including diaries and prescription eyeglasses, throwing my belongings into the street, throwing my car keys to prevent me from driving away, hitting me in front of our son, spewing profanities about me to our son, threatening to kill himself with a gun if I left him, harassment, and other physical and emotional abuse.”

“The abuse during our relationship was not just physical, but emotional and manipulative,” the filing continues. “Darius would ‘love bomb’ me and make me feel like I was the most important woman in the world, only to get extremely distant and cold over a perceived insult to him. If we were at a party or event, and I spoke with one person too long or looked at someone a ‘certain way,’ he would storm off in a rage—telling me I was ‘slut’ and a ‘whore,’ accuse me of cheating on him, and that I did not love him. Darius had a way of gaslighting me to make me feel like I was doing something wrong even though I wasn’t.”

In one incident from April 2022, Jackson allegedly accused Palmer of flirting with a woman while they were out to dinner in Santa Barbara. The former couple left to return to their hotel early.

“For Sarunas Jackson to post on his Twitter, the ridiculous stuff that he’s posting when he knew his brother was abusive,” began Sharon Palmer. “I went to Sarunas over a year ago and told him that his brother was abusive to my daughter and he said, ‘Well I used to be like that too.’”

By contrast, Jackson is alleging that the actress’ mom is lying.

“Quote me:,” started the Insecure actor in TheShadeRoom’s comments section. “I NEVER ONCE SAID THAT to Sharon. NOT ONCE IN MY LIFE. US Weekly reports that Palmer, 30, is also requesting sole custody of their 8-month-old son, Leodis.

In the court documents filed on Thursday, November 9, the actress alleges that Jackson, 29, abused her over the course of their two-year relationship.

US Weekly reports that Palmer claimed that she has security footage from a November 5 incident in which Jackson “trespassed into my home without my knowledge or consent” and “threatened” her before “lunging for my neck, striking me, throwing me over the couch and stealing my phone.”

She went on to allege that there have been “many instances of physical violence” with Jackson that include “destroying my personal property, including diaries and prescription eyeglasses, throwing my belongings into the street, throwing my car keys to prevent me from driving away, hitting [me] in front of our son, spewing profanities about me to our son, threatening to kill himself with a gun if I left him, harassment, and other physical and emotional abuse.”

Ultimately, Palmer said that her relationship with Jackson “finally ended for good” in early October “primarily due to the physical and emotional abuse inflicted” on her by him.

Amid the news, Jackson defiantly posted on X, formerly known, as Twitter a message to baby Leodis Jackson.

“I love you, son. See you soon,” he tweeted.

Darius’ brother, actor Sarunas Jackson, recently tweeted a message about someone being the most “vile, abusive, manipulative” person they’ve ever met.

Before this news, Darius Jackson made headlines for publicly shaming Palmer for wearing a sexy dress to Usher’s Las Vegas show.

“It’s the outfit tho… you a mom,” tweeted the personal trainer.

Amid criticism, instead of comments about Palmer, he doubled down.

“We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn’t want the wife & mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others & he gets told how much of a hater he is,” he posted.

    Breakup rumors soon followed.

Keke Palmer Says She Doesn’t Want Women To Feel Pressured By ‘Unrealistic’ Body Standards

    [ad_1]

The internet has been praising Keke Palmer as “body goals” since giving birth to her son earlier this year, but the actor is making it clear that she doesn’t want her fans comparing themselves to her.

Speaking on her podcast, Baby, This Is Keke Palmer,” in an episode released Tuesday, Palmer said, “It is my job [to stay fit]. Let’s not get crazy ― I don’t want people thinking that I am setting unrealistic standards.”

“I can afford a trainer, meal prep and a lot of things,” she stressed in her conversation with her guest star, celebrity trainer Corey Calliet.

The “Nope” actor, 29, said her healthy lifestyle is “expensive” but declared that it’s a necessity for her career, which she says requires her to “look good.”

“It is expensive, but I am investing in my career because it is my career to look good. Not even is it my career to look good, it is my career choice to have the kind of career that I want to have,” the mom of one added of staying fit.

Palmer, who gave birth to son Leodis Andrellton Jackson with boyfriend Darius Jackson in February, shared that keeping up with her fitness regime is her “personal choice” and that people who aren’t celebrities shouldn’t feel pressured to compare their bodies to hers.

“I never want to put it on anybody. I always want to make it clear that when I am talking about fitness, health and wellness is that your journey is your journey. You figure it out the way you can. And when you look at these celebrities and people in the industry, know that it is their job,” the Disney alum explained.

Palmer’s message comes a month after her beau tried to publicly accuse her on social media of trying to “showcase [her] booty cheeks to please others” after she sported a sheer dress at an Usher concert.

Back in May, Calliet dished to E! News about Palmer’s fitness regime, which he says includes lots of functional training, core work and cardio.

Just one month earlier, the “Light Year” actor got candid about unrealistic societal expectations placed on mothers to “bounce back” after giving birth.

“I was just talking about the whole ‘bounce back’ body thing, especially as it pertains to seeing celebrities or people in the industry. There’s always this thing of, ‘Damn, how’d they do it?’” she told People at the time. “For me, the main thing I would say to any new mom is do what you can when you can.”

“Whatever it is that makes you feel good, if it’s important to you, then hell yeah,” Palmer added. “Get you whatever diet you want to do or whatever workout regimen that works for you. And if that’s not what you’re worried about, then don’t worry about it.”

Keke Palmer Subtly Responds To Drama After Her Boyfriend Publicly Mom-Shamed Her

    [ad_1]

Keke Palmer has seemingly responded to the recent internet drama surrounding boyfriend Darius Jackson, who had criticized her online over an outfit choice.

On Friday, the actor posted an Instagram video of herself singing a rendition of Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely” to her infant son, Leodis, whom she shares with Jackson.

“One thing is certain and one thing is true, IM A MOTHA, through and through!” Palmer captioned the post, before noting that she’s selling shirts printed with phrases such as “I’m a motha.”

She then added that having a baby has “empowered” her.

“On such another level, my perspective changed because when my baby is good I’m GREAT!” she wrote. “Look at that face! Gratitude galore.”

Palmer’s mother-related merch is likely a nod to recent viral tweets by Jackson, who publicly mom-shamed her for wearing a revealing outfit to a concert in Las Vegas.

The actor was captured on video this week getting serenaded by the singer Usher while she rocked a sheer Givenchy dress with a black bodysuit.

“It’s the outfit tho.. you a mom,” Jackson tweeted on Wednesday.

He soon doubled down in a follow-up tweet. “We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn’t want the wife & mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others & he gets told how much of a hater he is,” he wrote.

“This is my family & my representation,” he continued. “I have standards & morals to what I believe. I rest my case.”

Jackson received swift backlash on social media for his remarks, with many calling out the actor for shaming Palmer online.

Though she has yet to directly address Jackson’s tweets, Palmer on Friday posted a TikTok video of herself dancing to a remixed audio clip from an interview she gave last month. Speaking to the outlet Them, the actor had discussed her sexuality, her relationships with men, and also being attracted to women, at one point saying: “So if you gonna act up, I’m about to link up.”

In case it wasn’t clear enough that Palmer is taking control of the internet hoopla resulting from Jackson’s remarks, another shirt she’s now selling references a telling quote of hers about relationships: “I’m Stevie Wonder to the Bullshit.”

The line comes from a recent episode of her podcast, “Baby, This Is Keke Palmer,” which also featured Jackson and her mother. In the episode, Palmer explained that she would avoid publicly discussing any issues in her relationship with Jackson.

“We’re talking about that in the closet,” she said at the time.
