When it comes to classy American actors, you’d be hard-pressed to find someone with more class than Stanley Tucci. The Searching for Italy star recently partnered with the widely popular Italian mineral water company, San Pellegrino, who — back in 2019 — reached their 120th year in business. Between his love of acting and his love of food, we’ve been blessed over the years with insights from Tucci regarding his favorite things in life such as his favorite sandwich, as well as creative ways to use leftover pasta. And if there’s one thing for certain, the Inside Man star has definitely become a bit of a national treasure and we are always interested in what he has to say next.

Making our wishes come true this week, Stanley took to his Instagram, in collaboration with San Pellegrino, to give fans a chance to ask him questions about cooking, food pairings, and more. The resulting video was right on-brand for the star, and gave us a sweet little peek into the mind and pantry of one of the most beloved actors of our time.

When asked what his favorite flavor of San Pellegrino’s Essenza line was, Tucci’s immediate response was the brand’s Lemon & Lemon Zest variety because “it’s very refreshing.” While on the subject, another fan was curious as to whether or not Tucci drank San Pellegrino before deciding to partner with the brand, to which he replied, “Yes, I’ve always loved it and have been drinking it for decades.” He also noted how he first learned of San Pellegrino years ago while taking trips to Italy, and pointed out how over the years, the brand has become known more globally.

For Tucci fans who have always wondered what he considers to be on his list of pantry staples, he filled us all in on that too and his response is exactly what one would expect from someone of his stature. While his revelation of risotto rice, pasta, vinegar, both salted and unsalted butter as well as kosher and sea salt, tomatoes, avocados, and other vegetables are all pretty standard options, there’s one staple that stood out the most: a homemade chicken stock that I am very curious to find out the recipe to.

One of the most important questions asked of Tucci was that of his favorite food for a quick snack. Surprisingly, a simple avocado or peanut butter sandwich seems to do the trick for the star, which shouldn’t come as much of a surprise due to his apparent love for classic, simple recipes

And finally, when asked if cheese could count as a dessert, the I Wanna Dance with Somebody actor promptly responded, “That’s up to you, but I think it is.” Stating that he is not a big dessert person, Tucci recalled how at his wedding, he and his wife decided to have a cake made from cheese wheels with honey instead of having a traditional cake. So if that doesn’t answer the question of whether or not cheese is a dessert, I’m not sure what will.

If you haven’t already, definitely check out the full video on Tucci’s Instagram, where you will likely be inspired to try something new in the kitchen.
