BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. — The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said a woman broke into a multimillion-dollar home on Bonita Beach, and they found her living inside.

On Monday afternoon deputies surrounded the home that sits along the 26000 block of Hickory Boulevard.

Deputies said a maintenance worker watches the home while the homeowners are out of town. On Monday morning he walked inside, heard a dog bark and saw a black suitcase lying on the kitchen floor. That’s when he realized a stranger had moved in.

911 was called and when deputies arrived, they walked inside and found a woman eating a sandwich. They said that woman is 54-year-old Luisa Villa. She was wearing one of the homeowner’s dresses from Athleta.

Villa also brought a small dog with her.

Villa lives in the Pine Manor neighborhood of Fort Myers, but while inside the lavish beach home, she told deputies she was the homeowner, showed them fake paperwork and claimed she had just bought the home.

That’s when deputies called the actual homeowner who said she doesn’t know Villa.

Deputies then arrested Villa.

Residents who live along Hickory Boulevard said they were shocked to see deputies surround the home because crime is unusual in the area.

“I don’t know where she thought she was gonna stay or how long she thought she was gonna stay ’cause all these houses have people that check in them all the time,” Bruce Broskie said.
