MEDINA, Ohio (WJW) — Best known for his roles in “Star Trek” and “Wonder Woman” (and for people of a certain age, “Princess Diaries 2”), Chris Pine is reportedly in Northeast Ohio working on a movie.

The film is called “Carousel,” and although the plot is shrouded in secrecy, it does not appear to be a new movie version of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical of the same name.

Written and directed by Rachel Lambert, it also stars Jenny Slate and Sam Waterston, who were all spotted in Medina filming earlier this week at Uptown Park.

Pine has been seen all over the Medina area since September started — including at a record store and a card shop in Medina and at the Akron-Canton Airport.

“The production of the feature film “Carousel” continues the pipeline of production investment and jobs to Northeast Ohio, spotlighting our region to an international audience,” Bill Garvey, president of the Greater Cleveland Film Commission, said in a statement to FOX 8 News.

Production is expected to wrap sometime this month on the movie, which was awarded a $517,000 tax credit by the Ohio Department of Development.

There is not yet a release date for the film and there is no IMDB page.
