Hannah Spearritt, now 42, moved into acting following her split from S Club 7, and is most well-known for her role as Abby Maitland in Primeval. She also had a recurring role on the popular British soap EastEnders.

The singer recently reflected on her years with the band, telling The Sun her body issues led to a secret breast augmentation later in life.

“We were thrown into all these photoshoots which I never knew would be part of the deal, FHM and all those lads’ mags. And I had [bandmates] Rachel [Stevens], Tina [Barrett] and Jo [O’Meara] with their curves. I love them all to bits but I was flat as a pancake,” Spearritt told the newspaper in an October 2022 interview.

The singer said it took her “a while to pluck up the courage” to undergo surgery, but she bit the bullet in 2013 when in her early thirties, only to regret her decision.

“I’d come out of a long-term relationship and thought, ‘This is going to fix me,’ which was just ridiculous,” she shared, likely referring to her relationship and engagement to Primeval co-star Andrew-Lee Potts from 2008 to 2013.

“Then my hair started to fall out. I was suffering with severe anxiety and was diagnosed with systemic candida, which is a fungal overgrowth – then the depression hit.”

Spearritt said she became so ill, she thought she was going to die. It became so unbearable, the singer decided to remove her implants three years later.

“When I woke up following the ex-plant it was like my body took its first breath and was like, ‘Thank you so much,'” she said.

Now happier and healthier, in 2018 Spearritt gave birth to a baby girl and in December 2020, she welcomed her second daughter. Spearritt shares both children with boyfriend Adam Thomas.
