The TikTok video posted by @limb_loss_boss has racked up over 13.7 million views and nearly 20,000 comments. When the owl was freed, he was frightened and did not fly right away.

The man moved the goal and net just in case the owl tried to go back in.

One comment on the video said, “He will visit you,” and now has nearly 40,000 likes. In an update video, the man replied to the comment saying that it was ‘completely true’ and ‘crazy.’ He went on to say that ever since they saved the owl, they had been finding feathers at least once a week.

He says that he truly believes that the owl is coming back to visit the family that rescued him and gave him a second chance at life.

“I’m in the yard all the time playing with these kids. I’ve never seen an owl feather until after we rescued that great horned owl,” @limb_loss_boss said in the TikTok video.

NOTE: Do not try to help wildlife of any sort unless you are trained. Find a local wildlife rehabber/rescuer or veterinarian ASAP, or call a rescue hotline

What you can do

Support ‘Fighting for Wildlife’ by donating as little as $1 – It only takes a minute. Thank you.

Fighting for Wildlife supports approved wildlife conservation organizations, which spend at least 80 percent of the money they raise on actual fieldwork, rather than administration and fundraising. When making a donation you can designate for which type of initiative it should be used – wildlife, oceans, forests or climate.
