Production has reportedly begun on the upcoming ninth season of Southern Charm.

Just months after the drama-filled season eight reunion saw Taylor Ann Green lashing out at ex-boyfriend Shep Rose, claiming he allegedly “f-cked 300 wh-res,” and Naomie Olindo discussing her unexpected hookup with Whitney Sudler-Smith, a report says the group is back in action in Charleston, South Carolina.

“Production has begun on the new season of [Southern Charm],” read a message shared by the Queens of Bravo on Instagram on January 5.

Southern Charm Season 9 Begins Filming

As soon as the news was shared, a number of Southern Charm fans weighed in with their thoughts on the cast of the new episodes.

“Pls no Paige this season pls,” one person wrote of Craig’s girlfriend of just over a year, Paige DeSorbo.

“We want [Thomas Ravenel],” said another.

Someone else begged, “No [Olivia Flowers] please.”

“As long as Shep, [Austen Kroll], and [Craig Conover] are coming back, it’s going to be good!!!!! I would also love to have [Cameran Eubanks] back!” shared another fan.

And while a cast lineup has not yet been announced, Kathryn Dennis shared a glammed up photo on Thursday night as Queens of Bravo clarified that the group went into production that day.

Although it’s hard to say who else will be returning for season nine, it seems safe to say that longtime stars Craig, Austen, Shep, and Patricia Altschul will be back. As for Taylor, Leva BonaparteVenita Aspen, and Madison LeCroy, there’s no real reason to think that any of the season eight stars will be exiting the series. However, Madison is newly married to a man, Brett Randle, who has previously been against the idea of filming a reality show.

As for Olivia, she appeared on a September episode of the Side Piece with Melissa Pfeister podcast, where she said she’d “be happy to come back.”

“It’s been a blast, and I’m excited to see how everything else plays out,” she shared.

One month later, during a joint interview on In the Know‘s We Should Talk, Naomie and Leva, whose spinoff, Southern Hospitality, premiered at the end of last year, shared their hopes for the season nine cast, noting that they’d like to see a “more cohesive” group after an eighth season with “too many people.”

“I’m interested to see what changes are made,” Naomie explained. “I hope that we get a more cohesive group. And whether that means we’re a part of it or not, we have no idea what’s going to happen … I think it will translate better.”

“When it’s more cohesive, then we can talk about all our stuff — our real personal stuff,” Leva added.
