Renaissance Tour begins! (discussion post)

Beyonce kicked off her highly anticipated RENAISSANCE TOUR today in Stockholm, Sweden. Beehive and Beygency members Fans from all over the world flew in just for the event, which is the first of a 2 night run at the Friends arena.

-Beyonce essentially was the opening act! In an unusual turn of events, she opened the show with a string of ballads in a conservative outfit, with a heavenly cloud backdrop. Starting with “Dangerously In Love”, “Flaws and All”, and covering Mary J Blige’s “I’m Going Down”. It’s almost as if she wanted to serve her vocals before getting into the wildness that was about to ensue.

-People entering the venue were greeted with the video wall already switched on to a test color pattern…in various pride flag variations! The venue also had gender neutral restrooms.

-The floor riser seats really are essentially on the main stage level, as they are situated to the left and right of the stage! It’s probably an awesome place to be, but not the best spot if you want the visuals.

-The video wall behind her is…UNIQUE! The circle in the middle is a transparent screen, and there is another display behind THAT display, which can create a surreal 3D effect during certain parts of the show. It’s also the area where, depending on the part of the show, her band and backup singers appear on a riser platform. It looks like even if you got nosebleeds for this tour, you’ll be getting a visual spectacle!

-Aside from the video wall, the show also featured some stunning outfits, robot dancers, a tank, her discoball horse Reneigh in both regular sized AND GIANT SIZED versions.

-Every song from the Renaissance album was performed in some form, sprinkled among other hits from her vast discography. Too early to tell how varied she may switch the setlist up (the “opening act” portion seems the easiest to change things around).

-Les Twins join the tour, along with a whole new crew of dancers.

-Show was about 2 hours and 40 minutes.

SUMMER RENAISSANCE

ONTD, i was in my car watching various live streams (that would eventually end…presumably her team shutting those down??), and consuming pics and clips. It was kinda of exciting! I didn’t sit and watch the entire show, but got a got sampling of it all.
If someone was planning on making a tour post that’s more in depth, please do. I just wanted this to post opening night reactions!
This post started as just some bullet points and one picture, but i kept adding more and more content, lolz.
