Actress Rashmika Mandanna has spoken publicly for the first time about the serious hip injury she sustained while filming an intense dance sequence for Mysaa. The actress had recently suffered a complete tendon detachment in her right hip after weeks of physically demanding rehearsals involving action and dance choreography. She has since been advised to take complete rest and undergo rehabilitation.

Rashmika explains her injury

Taking to social media on Monday evening, Rashmika reassured fans that while the injury is serious, the pain is manageable. “The pain is bearable,” she wrote before explaining the nature of the injury.

“There are four tendons on each side of your hip that connects your hip to your leg and one of those tendons on my right hip apparently had detached and that has to attach again, for me to be able to lift my leg up and stuff… My god that’s the most aggressive film (Mysaa) I have ever done for sure!” The Animal actress also reflected on how frequently she has found herself dealing with unexpected injuries.

“I feel like this is God saying you will never take a break if it’s left to you, so here… let me do it for you! You know all these injuries I have had are random af—freak accidents. What are the odds,” she wrote.

A forced break from work

Rashmika jokingly described her recovery period as a “forced holiday,” adding that staying away from workouts has been the toughest part. “Because well I workout and run like a beast which keeps me in a decent shape and now I won’t be able to workout or run for awhile. And if I can’t workout then what do I doooo.. I eat.. and I become a dessert monster,” she quipped.

The actress also revealed that this is the third injury she has suffered in recent times. “It happened a while ago ya and this is my 3rd injury back to back… I should definitely learn to treat my body like a human body and not some machine,” she reflected.

Rashmika is currently juggling multiple projects, including Mysaa and Ranabaali. Her latest injury is expected to temporarily affect the shooting schedules of both films as she focuses on her recovery.
