The much-anticipated film Lal Salaam,  starring Rajinikanth, finally has a confirmed release date. Shared via the official X account (formerly Twitter) of the film’s production house,, the movie is set to hit theatres on February 9, 2024. The announcement came with a poster featuring the title Lal Salaam against a backdrop of bamboo structures reminiscent of cricket match setups, accompanied by the caption, “Namma THER THIRUVIZHA’ku Alappara kelappa neram vandhachu! LAL SALAAM hits the big screen on February 9th 2024! Save the date!”

Rajinikanth’s character glimpse as Moideen Bhai was revealed on his 73rd birthday, showcased in an action-packed teaser where he makes a grand entrance, taking down adversaries and striding forward in slow motion. The teaser also showcased the track Jalaali Jalaal, sung and composed by AR Rahman.

The film’s first official teaser, released on November 12, sets the stage with a high-stakes cricket match introduced as more than just a game but a war. Directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth, Lal Salaam marks her return after a seven-year hiatus. The film is rumoured to delve into the realms of cricket and communism, starring Vishnu Vishal and Vikrant in pivotal roles. Aishwarya’s previous directorial venture was the Tamil action-thriller Vai Raja Vai, featuring Dhanush in a cameo.
