Variety has shared updates on the cast for the upcoming third Paddington film. First, Olivia Colman will join the film as a “reverend mother, a blithe and sunny guitar-playing nun who runs the home for retired bears.” Antonio Banderas is in talks to play “hunter Cabot, a dashing and intrepid riverboat captain who offers to help the Brown family on their Peruvian adventure” while Rachel Zegler will play his daughter Gina.
Sally Hawkins, who played Mary Brown in the first two movies, is exiting the series. She will be replaced by Emily Mortimer.
Filming is scheduled to begin in July.
