Olivia Nuzzi was an aspiring pop star + a link to an mp3 of her song “jailbait” (allegedly)

Before getting fired from New York Magazine and having dalliances with politicians, Olivia Nuzzi was apparently an aspiring pop star. Online sleuths have discovered that she went under the name Livvy, and she released a song called “jailbait.” Evidence of her past career was found on the blog Pop Justice.

Nuzzi, at the time, said the following about the song: “Jailbait” is about the role of the underaged, hyper-sexualized girl in society. That girl who takes half naked photos of herself in the mirror with her camera phone. It’s about pornographic ideals infiltrating our collective consciousness — this obsession with youth and beauty. I’m not saying that any of this is wrong, I’m simply stating that it is. This song is me coming to a societal realization.

Someone allegedly found the song and posted it on Twitter. The original link doesn’t work, so I uploaded it here. It seems legit, because the person who discovered it says they found it through this archived link from 2012, where you can also listen to it.

Bad things happen when you hear my name

Deny your attraction but I’ve got no shame

16 will get you 20

Don’t even think about it because baby I’m
Not your girlfriend
Not the girl next door
Not your girlfriend

I’ll give you just enough then leave you wanting more

Jailbait I’m jailbait

You try to stay away but you can’t obey

Oh dear.
