OHIO — The Ohio Department of Insurance is bringing its Medicare Checkup events back to the Buckeye State this fall.
These events are to help Ohioans navigate Medicare’s open enrollment from Oct. 15 to Dec. 7, during which residents can review their current coverage and make plan selections for 2026. They are run by the Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program (OSHIIP).
Residents can attend in-person or virtual events throughout the state. Visitors will receive information on the basics of Medicare, changes and guidance on how to review and compare plans. Other information provided includes prescription drug coverage options, financial assistance programs and strategies to reduce out-of-pocket costs.
Events held before Oct. 15, when enrollment opens, will be focused on education and preparing attendees for enrollment. Once enrollment begins, OSHIIP will include personalized plan comparisons and one-on-one counseling to help individuals make informed decisions.
