Maryland Man Arrested for Recording Women in Gym Locker Rooms

A Maryland man from Takoma Park has been arrested after police say he secretly recorded women inside gym locker rooms while pretending to be a woman.

It all started on October 10, 2025, when a woman at One Life Fitness in Germantown, Maryland, reported that someone had entered the women’s locker room and recorded her in the shower. Investigators later identified the suspect as 44-year-old Tshikundi Taty.

According to police, Taty disguised himself as a woman to gain access to the locker room, secretly filmed women, then removed his disguise to leave unnoticed.

Weeks later, on October 29, 2025, detectives tracked Taty to a Planet Fitness in White Oak, Maryland, where he was again found in the women’s locker room dressed as a woman. He was arrested immediately and charged with multiple peeping tom and other related offenses.

Detectives believe there could be more victims and are asking anyone with information to contact the Montgomery County Police Department.
