The sequel to 2021’s Ghosbusters: Afterlife has announced that Kumail Nanjiani (Eternals), Patton Oswalt (I Love My Dad), James Acaster (comedian, Cold Lasagne Hate Myself 1999), and Emily Alyn Lind (2021 Gossip Girl) will be joining the cast.

The actors from the first film (Carrie Coon, Celeste O’Connor, Ernie Hudson, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, and Paul Rudd) will also be reprising their roles.

No plot details have been provided yet, but the end credits from the first film showed the iconic New York City firehouse from the original films, so some think that might play a part.

Gil Kenan has taken over directing, but Jason Reitman will stay on as writer and producer. Filming has already started on March 20, 2023 in London and the sequel is scheduled to be released on December 20, 2023.
