– Neighbours was originally axed in the UK by Channel 5 earlier this year and Fremantle Australia was unable to secure a new international co-producer.
– Fremantle have announced that Amazon and Channel 10 (Australia) have renewed Neighbours to return in mid 2023.
– Executive Producer Jason Herbison visited Ryan Moloney, Jackie Woodburne, Alan Fletcher and Stefan Dennis at their homes last week to give them the news and ask if they wanted to come back. They are the only confirmed returning cast.
– Production will bgin in April 2023 after the Neighbours Farewell Tour in March.
– Amazon Freevee will hold the US and UK rights. Channel 10 and Prime Video will share the rights in Australia. Prime Video will be the home for Canadian and New Zealand viewers. This deal includes the back catalogue of old episodes.
