Comedian Gary Owen has been thrust back into the spotlight concerning his personal life. His ex-wife, Kenya Duke, recently took to social media to respond to Owen’s remarks about their failed relationship, which he discussed on Shannon Sharpe’s podcast, “Club Shay Shay.”

During the podcast, Owen shared details about his divorce from Kenya and the current state of his relationship with their estranged children. Owen attempted to be transparent with the audience, but his comments did not sit well with his former spouse.

“In this moment, I don’t know how to mend our relationship,” Owen admitted to Sharpe. “I just want them to know I love them, I’m proud of them, and I’m here whenever they decide to reach out.”

Kenya quickly responded after the episode aired, expressing her frustrations and disappointment with Owen’s choice to air their private issues publicly. In a flurry of Instagram posts, she accused Owen of insensitivity and highlighted the emotional toll his actions have taken on her and their family.

“It’s been three years,” Kenya wrote. “I’ve always been kind and cool with you, never making things awkward. I’ve never bothered you. I’ve offered suggestions about the situation, but you don’t respect boundaries, which is why you’ve brought this up again on social media. I don’t know what else I can do to help you. I always wish you well.”

She continued, “I’ve grown to the point where I don’t feel the need to correct every falsehood. The grace and kindness I’ve shown you have just given you space to spin tales and craft false narratives for sympathy and attention. You’re a great storyteller… sometimes I even get caught up in your versions.”

This isn’t the first time Kenya has publicly criticized Owen. Last November, he disclosed that he hadn’t been in touch with their children for over three years, saying he was giving them space to heal. Kenya quickly countered, accusing him of seeking public sympathy while disregarding their children’s feelings. However, she still encouraged their children to give him another chance despite his perceived neglect.
