Epic Games has fired almost the entire staff of the game Fall Guys, essentially ensuring the game’s death. This was done without any warning or notice. The only reason we found out is because fired employees took to social media to talk about it. Fans are very upset. Epic Games bought Mediatonic, the studio behind Fall Guys, in 2021 when they were on a buying spree. They pumped it full of paid cosmetics and battlepasses and now only two years are pulling the plug.
Unfortunately, I’m one of the folks that has been affected by the Epic layoffs.
If anyone knows places that are looking for an experienced 3D Marketing Artist/Environment Artist, in both stylized and realistic styles, then gimme a shout! ๐๐#gamedev #gamedevjobs pic.twitter.com/efZ1znB6WS

wait, epic laid off the *entire* Fall Guys team? what the fuck?
that game was doing so well, why would they fire the entire team not long after buying it? what’s the fucking point, besides to cause misery?

genuinely so pissed i canโt believe epic bought fall guys to revive the game for like one season, let it die off, then fire EVERYONE who worked on the game thatโs fucking unbelievable. those devs deserve better

Be Epic
> Buy Mediatonic
> Make Fall Guys free but with a shit-ton of micro-transactions
> Effectively ruin the game
> Fire the entire teamWHAT WAS THEIR PLAN!!?? https://t.co/KS63dpggDp

It’s kinda sad that the Fortnite and Fall Guys teams worked hard on bringing creative modes to their games to keep replayability… only for EPIC to fire the teams who made those modes, since the players/creators can now keep those games afloat with content. https://t.co/Ru87GjuAJD
