• Scott Pilgrim, Baby Driver and Last Night in Soho director Edgar Wright made waves this weekend when the commercial he directed for McDonald’s hit the internet.
• The commercial features office building employees expressing a desire to go on a McDonald’s run by arching their eyebrows in sync to the song “Oh Yeah” by Yello and marching out of the building. The commercial is completely dialogue-less, and doesn’t feature the traditional McDonald’s jingle.
• For whatever reason this commercial went semi-viral with some people lamenting the fact that Wright was reduced to directing a commercial. Apparently everyone missed the Nike commercial he made that featured Sadie Sink, Bill Nye, Simone Biles and Kobe Bryant in 2018. And the Square Space Super Bowl commercial he made with Zendaya and André 3000 just last year.
