Driver dead after car T-boned by stolen SUV

CLEVELAND (WJW) – One person is dead after their car was T-boned by a stolen SUV that was being chased by Euclid police, according to officials.

The crash took place at about 12:15 a.m. on Thursday at Saint Clair Avenue and Nottingham Road in Cleveland.

According to first responders, a stolen black Jeep was being chased when it hit a Chevy Malibu.

The Malibu driver was pronounced dead on the scene by Cleveland EMS.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner later identified the man as Maurice Neil Ford, 54, of Cleveland.

According to Euclid police, officers spotted the stolen vehicle in a parking lot before the crash.

Police say the suspect drove down St. Clair Ave. at a high rate of speed.

Before officers could catch up, police say that’s when the crash happened.

The driver of the stolen SUV tried to run on foot but was taken into custody. Three suspects are being held in the Cuyahoga County Jail.
