DJI has introduced the Osmo Pocket 4P, its first dual-lens gimbal camera and a major upgrade to the compact camera line it began developing more than a decade ago. The new model combines a one-inch CMOS sensor, a dedicated portrait lens, mechanical stabilization, and advanced color tools inside a pocketable 230-gram body.
Available in classic black and pearl white, the Osmo Pocket 4P is aimed at creators who want more focal-length flexibility without carrying a mirrorless camera and separate gimbal. Its dual-camera setup covers wide environmental shots and tighter portraits, while the new 10-bit D-Log 2 profile provides additional room for professional color grading.
Dual Lenses Cover Wide Scenes and Portraits
The primary camera uses a one-inch CMOS sensor paired with a 20mm-equivalent wide-angle lens and an f/2.0 aperture. This combination is designed for landscapes, architecture, handheld vlogging, and establishing shots. LOFIC sensor technology enables up to 17 stops of dynamic range in supported modes, helping retain information in bright skies and dark foregrounds.
A separate 60mm-equivalent medium-telephoto lens gives the camera a more natural perspective for portraits and close subject framing. Its f/1.8 aperture and compressed field of view create stronger background separation. The system provides 3x optical zoom and up to 12x total zoom, making it easier to change framing without physically moving the camera.
High Frame Rates and Flexible Color
For fast action, the Osmo Pocket 4P can record at up to 4K resolution at 240fps in supported modes. This enables eight-times slow-motion playback while preserving Ultra HD detail, which could be useful for sports, dancing, moving vehicles, falling water, and other subjects where individual movements are difficult to see at normal speed.
The new 10-bit D-Log 2 profile records more than one billion colors and works alongside the camera’s extended dynamic range. Compared with a standard color profile, it preserves more highlight and shadow information for post-production. A Slow Shutter Video mode is also included for producing motion trails and intentional blur effects.
Smarter Tracking in a Stabilized Body
DJI equips the camera with a three-axis mechanical gimbal rather than relying only on electronic stabilization. ActiveTrack 8.0 can follow people, pets, vehicles, and irregularly shaped objects, including when zoom is being used. Auto framing can prioritize a registered subject or keep multiple subjects positioned within the shot.
The rotating touchscreen allows quick startup and instant recording. Creators can use an open-palm gesture to activate tracking or show a V sign to begin recording. Other tools include 37MP still images, 4K Live Photos with 1.5-second motion clips, and USB 3.1 transfers reaching up to 800 MB/s under supported conditions.
Battery Life, Accessories, and Availability
The internal battery can recharge from zero to 80 percent in approximately 18 minutes and delivers up to 210 minutes of runtime when fully charged. Accessory compatibility includes a fill light, wide-angle lens, black mist filter, ND filter set, battery handle, mini tripod, FrameTap, and several OsmoAudio microphones.
DJI announced the Osmo Pocket 4P on July 30, 2026, with black and pearl-white color options.
