An American musician has taken to social media to call out the attendees of Adelaide’s Listen Out where he was forced to walk off stage after being hurled abuse by the crowd.

DJ Marc Rebillet was performing at Adelaide’s Listen Out festival when he was forced to cut his set short and get off stage after crowds became abusive.

“Got decimated tonight playing before Ice Spice. This was before they started throwing s–t,” the musician posted to X, formerly known as Twitter.

“I don’t blame them entirely, they’re just children and my set was in the way of their munch. Still, kind of a crazy thing to experience! Hope they become cooler adults,” the musician said of the mostly young crowd had been booing him.

He added, “They were still throwing bottles at me and getting my computer and keyboard wet; had to step off stage before they f—d up my equipment permanently. Aaaaanyway I’m done ranting, bless their hearts.”

Rebillet, who rose to prominence during the COVID-19 lockdowns for posting his DJ sets online, reportedly has a portion of the show in which he speaks to the crowd.

Last night, when Rebillet attempted to interact with the Adelaide crowd, he was immediately met with verbal abuse.

“Get off the f—ing stage!” one man can be heard saying in a clip of the exchange.

“F— off and get Ice Spice,” another yells, then the rest of the crowd joins in by chanting: “Get off! Get off!”

Despite the vitriol at the festival, when Rebillet posted the clips and his experience to X, he was quickly inundated with messages of support from others within the music community.

Zedd responded to Rebillet’s post saying: “Ughhhh man I’m sorry you had to experience that.”

“I WILL RIOT,” Alison Wonderland added.

“Imagine getting to see Marc Rebillet open for your favourite artist and this is how you act,” another user added.
