Compass Career College announced its success in officially becoming an Accredited Test Facility for the American Welding Society (AWS) Certification Exam. This means welding students can easily transition from their classes to the official certification — all in one location at a low cost.

Compass Career College, a Hammond educational institution founded in 1997, offers open-admission classes and training in a state-approved proprietary school of vocational learning. Fields of concentration include Allied Health, Practical Nursing, Cosmetology, and Welding. Dedicated to providing the highest quality of career training possible, CCC is laser-focused on preparing every student for entry into the workforce.

Located at 42353 Deluxe Plaza in Hammond, the welding program at Compass Career College is one of the most popular in Tangipahoa Parish. Developed by the faculty at CCC, the welding concentration’s curriculum features courses in Stick, MIG, TIG, Fluxcore, and Pipe.

Being an in-demand career in the United States, welders experience job security, as well as many opportunities to grow and advance within their field. There’s also plenty of room to specialize in certain types of welding—honing in on specific interests and the needs of employers in the local market—and travel nationally or internationally perfecting the craft.

With CCC’s ability to now administer the American Welding Society Certification Exam on-site, students have yet another tool to advance their welding career to new heights. The certification fuels the potential for increased income, high-level leadership roles, and in-depth career challenges that make going to work exciting every day.

“I like that Compass gives me the opportunity to learn a skilled trade,” explained Hunter Mason, June’s Student of the Month. “Everyone here is family-oriented and centered around the same goal. I decided to attend Compass to provide a stable life for my daughter.”

With August 12th being the next start date for classes, there is still plenty of time to enroll in this affordable, 6-month program, which is designed to prepare graduates for industry employment as an AWS certified welder. Now, at Compass Career College, your curriculum and AWS certification can be completed on-campus to expedite your next steps.
