Despite fans tracking a private jet from California to Toronto, speculation fueled that Ohtani would sign with the Toronto Blue Jays. Turns out he’s just crossing the street. His contract shatters the previous records held by Mike Trout(???? I think). Ohtani will spend the first season as designated hitter but will undergo surgery to fix a torn UCL. Ohtani made his debut with the Los Angles Angels in 2017.
Haven’t followed the MLB in years but I know this is a huge story, wanted to make the post for fans to discuss.
