She became a household name, and quit the show a few years later to pursue her music career – releasing the successful 2002 single Kiss Kiss, an English language cover version of Turkish singer Tarkan’s Şımarık.

Two albums later, Valance, now 40, gave up on music and decided to move to the US to pursue her acting career there. But by 2011, she had basically gone off the radar.

Her last film credit was in 2015 in the movie Red Herring and, before that, a role in the 2011 movie Big Mamma’s Boy.

Then, in July 2022, Valance briefly reprised her role as Flick in the final episode of the soap that made her famous.

Aside from her recent Neighbours finale scene, these days, Valance is an ambassador for Disability Rights International, and mostly uses her platform for advocacy work.

Valance and her husband Nick Candy live in London with their two kids.

In a rare 2019 podcast interview with Made by Mammas, Valance spoke about what it was like to be mum to her two children Luka and Nova.

“It’s terrifying. You’re exploding with love but you don’t know what you’re doing,” she admitted.

“You’re absolutely exhausted and fumbling around just trying to survive.”
