Azealia Banks Evicted from Florida Rental Home Over Unpaid Rent

Azealia Banks has been evicted from her rental home in a small town south of Miami for failing to pay rent. Court documents revealed on Friday, July 5, highlight the ongoing legal dispute between Banks and Isis Claro, the owner of the Palmetto Bay, Florida home.

Claro requested that the courts force Banks, known for her controversial social media presence, to leave the property. While Banks initially responded to the legal action, which prevented an immediate eviction, she has yet to pay the overdue rent. According to AllHipHop, she owes around $8000.

Florida law states that tenants must pay rent into the court registry or file a motion within five days of being served. Failure to do so results in the tenant losing their defenses and allows the landlord to obtain an immediate default judgment for eviction without further notice.

This legal issue adds to a series of headlines Banks has made this year, including her public criticisms of artists like Beyoncé, Doechii, Rihanna, and A$AP Rocky. Most recently, she targeted Ice Spice over her Y2K-inspired aesthetic, suggesting the rising Bronx star rework her style and production to better align with the early 2000s theme.
