What feels like 87 years ago but was really just eight months ago, Xbox announced the Deep Pink Wireless controller and we immediately fell in love. Our patience has paid off, because the hot pink controller is finally releasing in Australia on February 10.

It’ll cost $94.95, putting it in line with the blue, red and volt-coloured controllers that are already available from Microsoft. Pre-orders are live if you want to secure yours ahead of release.

The faceplate, thumbsticks, and face buttons are all done in the Deep Pink, with the original Xbox button colours hiding in plain site on the inside of the A, B, X, and Y buttons. The hybrid D-pad, back bumpers, and triggers are black, with a white backplate for contrast.

Interestingly, the Deep Pink colour is also available in the Xbox Design Lab. So if you love the pink but don’t vibe with the rest of the controller, or want the thumbsticks to stand out in a separate colour, you can design your own to spec. Unfortunately, you can’t get the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller 2 in Deep Pink, though there is a softer shade of pink to choose from.

After the announcements from the Xbox and Bethesda Developer Direct showcase, we’re more keen than ever to give our consoles a new look. “Redfall” comes out on May 2 and “Starfield” is on track to release in the first half of the year. We still don’t know the official release date, but that hasn’t stopped internet sleuths from coming up with their own (very convincing!) theories involving Apollo 13, the Wright Brothers, and the International Day of Human Space Flight.

Beyond that, the rhythm-based hack-and-slash “Hi-Fi Rush” dropped out of nowhere last week as an Xbox and PC exclusive. It’s very good, laugh-out-loud funny, and features a bangin’ soundtrack.
