Ariana Madix took aim at ex-boyfriend Tom Sandoval amid her debut on Tuesday’s episode of Love Island USA.
Months after Ariana was seen requesting more quality time from Sandoval on Vanderpump Rules ahead of their messy affair-prompted split in March, Ariana encouraged contestants to know who they’re dating or “sharing a bed with” as Katie Maloney explained why the two of them have yet to open their sandwich shop, Something About Her.
“Draking our way through the ‘yOu WeRe suPPosed tO Be opEn in MAY,’” read a caption shared on Something About Her’s TikTok page, which featured Katie dancing to Drake as it was noted that she and Ariana are “crying in permits.”
As Pump Rules fans well know, Ariana and Katie have been teasing the impending opening of their restaurant, which is located near Sandoval and Tom Schwartz‘s TomTom in West Hollywood, for months.
“You think that finding the location is the hardest part, so you think, but there are so many factors that go into it, it’s not as simple as like picking out paint or tables and chairs, it’s like a lot of extra work, legal stuff that goes into it, licenses and entitlements and things,” Katie explained on the February 8 episode of Kristen Doute‘s podcast, Sex, Love, and What Else Matters.
Then, two months later, a fan on Instagram asked, “How much longer till [Something About Her] opens???” Katie responded that she and Ariana didn’t yet have a definitive date.
“We just really don’t have one, but it’s going to be like, this summer. It is,” Katie confirmed. “We are decorating. That’s where we’re at right now. So it’s just a matter of if everything goes according to plan and right and there’s no like, hiccups along the way, which you can’t always plan for.”
Meanwhile, during a May episode of Watch What Happens Live, Ariana said Something About Her was “in the design phase.”
“I’m sure a lot of people, I’ve seen a TikTok of walk-bys, seeing paint going on the walls and stuff, so we’re looking at this summer,” Ariana revealed.
As for Ariana’s debut on Love Island USA on Tuesday, she dissed Sandoval while hosting the “Mr. and Mrs.” game.
“I can’t wait to see who’s actually been taking the time to get to know one another,” she said, per Page Six. “Take it from me, it’s important to know who you’re dating or sharing a bed with. And if they’re not the one for you, trust me, it’s better to find out sooner rather than later.”
Ariana knows a thing or two about sleeping next to someone who she didn’t “know.” Her former boyfriend, Sandoval, was cheating on her with her best friend, Raquel Leviss, for months until he was caught in March of this year.
Page Six also noted that during a May episode of Pump Rules, Ariana mentioned Love Island as she requested Sandoval dedicate more quality time to their relationship.
“I don’t have time to watch 50 goddamn episodes of Love Island,” Sandoval replied. “That is your definition of quality time, not the definition of quality time.”
He also said he preferred to skinny-dip, “take some mushrooms together, and watch the sunrise.”
Ahead of the appearance, Ariana teased her cameo on Instagram, along with a photo of herself in a white dress with gold heels.
“I can’t believe I’m popping in the [Love Island USA] villa this week!” she exclaimed. “Like.. I am GATHERED around the fire pit! You can watch the fun on [Peacock].”
Vanderpump Rules season 11 is expected to begin airing on Bravo sometime later this year or early next year.
