Andy Cohen clarified his recent comment about Kyle Richards’ husband Mauricio Umansky amid reports of the couple’s marital difficulties. In a recent interview, the host asked Real Housewives of New York newbie Brynn Whitfield who she believes is the ‘hottest’ husband in the franchise. When she answered Mauricio, Andy said Mauricio is ‘available.’
Rumors are circulating that Kyle and Mauricio – who have been together for over a quarter of a century – are currently separated. Although the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills couple denied they were getting a divorce, they recently released a joint statement admitting they were in a difficult year of their marriage, and many fans believe the full story is being hidden.
In a July 20 tweet, shared by @allabouttrh on Instagram, Andy clarified his comment that Mauricio is ‘available.’
“I was being absolutely flip and cheeky,” wrote Andy, “not serious on any level.”
After the clarification, fans took to the comments to share their thoughts on Andy’s joke.
“That was so disrespectful,” wrote one user. “Andy has no boundaries.”
A different fan expressed, “Bet Kyle didn’t think it was, ‘flip and cheeky.’” Another added, “Andy’s the biggest mean girl of all the franchises.”
