On the heels of Will Smith marking his 55th trip ’round the sun, it sounds like the Men in Black actor may be getting back into his musical bag!

Joyner Lucas Shared The News While Showing Will Smith Love

On Monday (Sept. 25), Joyner Lucas shared an Instagram upload to wish Will Smith a happy birthday.

Starting out by calling Will his “hero,” Joyner reflected on how he “idolized” the star while growing up. He then spoke on how he eventually got to create a record highlighting his “admiration and respect” for Will Smith, which is aptly titled “Will.”

However, Joyner Lucas then suggested that they have an upcoming project together, as he says that Will Smith approached him to “create a whole album.”

“Dear hero. I never thought I’d ever meet you. Still trips me out that I grew up idolizing you, to then me making a record about my admiration and respect for you, to then you asking me to create a whole album with you.”

Joyner Lucas wrapped up his message by stating, “Love you til the end of time my dear brother.” He was also sure to include a video of him and Will collaborating while on their studio grind.

While his filmography and personal life have typically taken center stage lately, real Will Smith fans will know that, ahead of his on-screen fame and high-profile roles, the Philadelphia native got his start as one-half of DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince.

With beloved bops like “Summertime” and “Parents Just Don’t Understand,” Will Smith was in his rap bag, which continued into the late-1990s and mid-2000s with his solo albums.

While his last full-length project arrived in 2005, Will Smith hasn’t been completely out of the game — evidenced by collaborative singles with Nicky Jam and Logic in recent years.

Fans Chime In & Support The Pursuit

Considering the hits that Will Smith has previously delivered, people were here for the idea of him churning out a collaborative album! Beneath Joyner Lucas’ IG upload, users began chiming in and showing their support.

A user going by @naf15 wrote, “You know if it’s got Will in it it’s gonna slap.”

As for @ilariasacchini95, she urged Lucas to “tell Big Willy to go back to making music.”

Continuing to come thru with the support, @therealjaenice declared, “Goat talk!!! Just wait until they hear their greatness!!!”
