Clearwater woman dies after being struck by lightning

CLEARWATER, Fla. — A 73-year-old woman was found dead on Sand Key in Clearwater after being struck by lightning Wednesday.

According to the Clearwater Police Department, the woman was found on a sidewalk inside her apartment complex.

WFLA reports that there were no witnesses, but a man found the body on the sidewalk after storms moved through the area, police said.

The incident remains under investigation.
